Fame and Imelda. Those were ours.
They were both great.
They were both great.

What a time it is
A time for humanity to search their hearts
Do the right thing - even when it can be worrisome
My kids are hurting this week - family tragedies and all that
but so many people have entered their lives to help them
even at the expense of being with their own families
sometimes the whole world needs to move aside to let a moment become
what it needs to be
Thank you,
me
I see so many small businesses closing, under orders of the government because they are "non-essential ". I get it. I really do. But they are essential to the people who put their life savings into an idea and have been cultivating their dream for a long time. I feel horrible for them and their families. They don't know when, or if, they will be able to open again. I do what I can, and we all should, given the means to do it. Last night, I ordered dinner from a local pub, all stuff I shouldn't be eating on my diet. Picked it up, tipped them about 150%. Then i went to the gas station to fill up my car and gave my dinner to the attendant, who knows me because it's the only station I ever go to. I'm only saying this because it's something I saw someone else do, and I'm spreading it around. Get creative. Not all of us can be healthcare workers and save people's lives. Sincere gratitude to those who are. I have a few friends who are sewing and donating masks. I don't have a sewing machine. But we CAN do something to save our neighbors and neighborhoods from the financial devastation this is causing. And remember to say thanks to the grocery store workers. From 6 feet away, please.
It's probably a good time to remind everyone to be nice.. be kind. .
I've committed to a fundraising event for women's cancer. It's a nice thing to focus on in the middle of all this. Humanity just may be what gets us through it.
How are you?
How are you staying connected?
Ty for being such a dear to me and an inspiration...
Every time I see this thread pop up, I think of this song. Tim McGraw ~ Humble and Kind
I feed the hungry. I don't have words enough to describe what that means.
It's probably a good time to remind everyone to be nice.. be kind. .

I love this so much. It reminds me of that book, Love You Forever
I had a hell of a week.. a few too many 14 hour days that were filled with too many meetings about work that I just don't have the time to address.. but we make time. We all do it. These days, it seems like we're either drowning in work or starving for it - and I don't mean to complain to those in the latter..
but this drowning prompted me to find an escape so I left my office on Thursday and walked up to our chemo unit where I asked if there were any patients with a new diagnosis..
without going into the details of their stories, I was able to spend an hour listening, and sharing, and being present.. it was such a gift to me, such a reminder of my personal "why"
When you feel like you can't do it for another day
When you're mourning that you've lost something or someone
Find that love you wish you were sharing and create space for it
Our healing doesn't come from what others give to us; but from what we give to others
Enjoy your week - I hope it's filled with love
Recently I have personally found that personal contribution has given me great strength in weariness and exhaustion...It really is a gift in so many many ways...
That last message was for YOU my dear...but then read the one below yours...and think prayers and thoughts are needed there as well..and a hug too! (I have lots of them to hand out!)There's a lot going on these days. I'm sometimes brought to tears when I take a moment to ponder all the things people deal with... it's heart filled.
Instead of sharing some huge personal experience (thank you for indulging this, btw), I'd like to share a recent find that you may choose to support. I came across this organization while shopping for a friend with whom I share a personal tradition: any gifts we ever exchange need to, in some way, contribute to others. (It's a fun tradition, give it a try.. )
Thistle Farms is an organization in TN that exists to help women who are victims of abuse, trafficking, prostitution, etc.
They choose the thistle because it is a strong and sturdy flower that can survive great hardship. It has grit. It reminds us that, with some gentle care, one might blossom into a truly unique being. I thought others might like to at least read their story - and maybe support their cause.
Anyway, I am often struck by the power of a soft gesture and I'm using this platform to pose an intention today:
As we continue our walk through this time of uncertainty for so many, please remember to use your grit as a source of kindness so that others may benefit from your encounter.
Thank you
