I walked over to the bar and waited for Rain to join me.

"Thank you" Monique replied and sat down. Noticing that she didn't smile I wondered if she had a problem with me or if being rude was just her nature. Concentrating on more important things I wondered if Vaughn would let us know where he wanted us to get weapons from or if we were on our own now.

As Rain walk over I could see his disappointment in being partnered with me.

"Yeah I know, I was hoping for the red head too, but lets make the best of this." I said with a smile.

I yelled across the bar to Vaughan "Do you know a good place to start or should we just go door to door?"

"Any idea as to where we are supposed to get the weapons from?" Monique asked evenly, her soft but steady voice carrying easily to Felicia. "Or is he going to tell us?"

Monique watched Felicia carefully trying to gauge the woman. Appearances were no help, she'd have to observe her closely. She liked to know who she was dealing with before she really opened up.

"Any idea as to where we are supposed to get the weapons from? Or is he going to tell us?" Monique asked echoing my own thoughts. Seeing Vaughn, Bear, and Rain walk towards the door I figured she and I were on our own. "Actually I have no idea where we need to go to find weapons and Vaughn has proved to be vague in the details department. I guess we can start looking here and then move on if we need to...if you have a better plan let me know since mine is more than lacking" I said hoping it came out more confident than I felt. Waiting to see if she wanted to do it differently I hoped she and I would be able to work well together since we were the only females in the group. There was also the fact that we had been stuck with a job that seemed tame compared to the other's assignments. Sizing her up I was pretty sure she and I would be able to hold our own as well as if not better than the guys.

"Yes, I agree." Monique said rising from her seat and holding out one hand to Felicia, a genuine smileonher face for the first time.


"We should stick together, it is a proven fact that women are more level headed than most men and we are the only two in the group, as you rightly thought, we'd make a great team."

"Exactly...so I guess we can head to the back and see if there are any storage rooms around...I'm pretty new to all this so you may have to come up with a plan B if this doesn't work." I said glad that I had come to an understanding with her. She seemed like she knew what she was doing so I was glad I had gotten paired with her.
Heading towards the back of the bar I wondered how everyone else was fairing.

Monique followed her to the back of the bar and began to open the drawers and cupboards.

The first 'weapon' she turned up was a large Chef's knife.

"Do you think we will encounter any posessed vegatables?" she said lightly puting the large knife aside.

She continued to open the cupboards looking through them carefully and thinking that the women ended up with the mediocre assignment, important but still...not very exciting.

Looking at the knife Monique had I figured it could probably come in handy at some point. I turned towards the bar and leaned down to see what was stored on the shelves under it. Pulling out a baseball bat I wondered if maybe this place got some rough crowds. A baseball bat and a knife, hmm we'd need more than that. Scanning the shelves quickly I didn't see anything else that could pass for useful. "I don't see a whole lot else here, we may have to figure something else out."

"We may have to raid a weapons shop perhaps...or do you have any contacts that would have weapons...I have one but..well..are you willing to travel downin to the sewers?" Monique asked also coming up with nil.

Felicia didn't look like some one who would mind the trip but she had to be certain. And she felt that she could trust the woman.

She leaned on the counter and waited for her answer.

We were outside of the bar when I sparked a cigarette and made my way to the alley where I parked my car.

Turning to see Vaughan and Rain I yelled "See you at 5th Ave."

After getting into my car I pulled out of the alley and raced toward fifth Ave. It was 20 min. and 3 cigarettes later that I made a right onto 5th. Pulling over to the side I look for an alley to park. Seeing none I turned off my car and got out. The street was lined with street lights but most were out. I walked to the back of my car and opened the trunk. Pulling a key out of my pants I unlocked my tool box. I removed the two 50 cal.'s and placed them inside. I then pulled out of the tool box two wood spikes, a 9 mm. handgun with silver bullets, and a test tube full of holy water. I closed the trunk and sat on the edge of the bumper waiting for the others.

"We may have to raid a weapons shop perhaps...or do you have any contacts that would have weapons...I have one but..well..are you willing to travel downin to the sewers?"

"Like I said I'm pretty new at all this so I really don't have a weapons contact or anything...but I'm fine with raiding a shop or taking to the sewer if needed." I said realizing it came out a little less confident than I'd hoped. Not that I had a problem with sewers, spiders were the only thing I had trouble dealing with and I doubted that they'd be in a damp sewer. I just felt bad that I wasn't able to be real helpful.
"I'll carry the stuff we found if you want to lead the way."

I nodded and I left the bar. We climbed into my car and before long we were heading swiftly toward the city.

Parking at the back of a building , I lifted up the lid of the sewer and dropped down inside to the first landing then began to climb down, watching to make sure that Felicia was following and that she was okay. She had seemed a litte hesitant at first.

"Pull back the lid on the top Felicia." I said to her, finally reaching the bottom and flicking on a flash light.

Following Monique's lead I went down the manhole to the landing.
"Pull back the lid on the top Felicia." I heard Monique say from below me and I reached up to close the hole. After climbing about halfway down the ladder I see Monique switch the flashlight on and I climb the rest of the way quicker. Reaching the bottom I looked around saying, "Ok, now which way?"

"Follow me" Monique said softly and set off down the sewer at a rapid pace, they were walking on top of the bank and therefore did not have to get their feet wet.

They walked for a while winding there way through the pathways of the sewers sometimes cutting through tight spaces and other times climbing down small ladders.

The pace was rapid, as Monique had no intention of staying down in this filthy place for longer than was needed.

She kicked one of the rodents that skittered across her foot into the water, causing it to splash a little but she didn't stop then.

They ducked under a small roof and finally they came to a door.

Monique opened it with a click and stepped into the light, shutting off the flashlight.

As her eyes adjusted to the light, Felicia found herself in a large spacey room with only one person in it.

A tall, Negro woman, cleaning the barrel of a gun. She was beautiful and wore a large leather cloak.

"Hi Monique, you come to pick up your blades? They are just about ready." her voice was deep and silky.

"Hi Jade. I also have come for as many weapons as you can spare." Monique said taking up her two katanas and looking at them with a small smile.

"Sure, as many as you want. Whose your friend?" Jade asked jerking her head in Felicia's direction, her large brown eyes raked over the woman summing her up.

"That's Felicia" Monique answered, picking up some of the semi automatic weapons and dropping them into a large bag.

"Can't she speak for herself?” Jade said gruffly, laughing a little she picked up a gun and slammed a clip into it and pointed it at the wall just behind Felicia.

She then proceeded to pump all the bullets in it in quick succession, adding to all the bullets that were already lodged there.

"You can speak right?" she teased.

Monique didn't bother to look up knowing that Felicia could hold her own with the rambunctious older woman.

As soon as the woman pointed the gun in my general direction my instincts took over. Before being trained as soon as the bullets started I would have been trying to move away while probably yelling. Now I focused my eyes on a spot on the wall to the left of the woman's head and stood perfectly still until she lowered the gun.
"You can speak right?" she asked in a teasing voice.
"Oh yes I can speak, but only if it seems worth my while. But, as you were so kind to demonstrate, shooting in my general direction makes it very worthwhile." I said with a smile. I figured if Monique trusted her I had nothing to worry about. "Speaking of guns I've been wanting to get one or two for some time and hadn't gotten around to it yet, you wouldn't happen to have anything would you? I'd be willing to pay of course"
Waiting for her reply I laid the black duffel bag I'd gotten from Monique's car on a table and unzipped so we could load any weapons into it.
