I’m so old I remember…

I remember when you mapped a long trip via a flip book from the auto club
I was just saying this the other day! I was driving (I knew where I was and where I was going) through LA and had a memory of my best friend and I going to Palm Springs for Spring Break back in like 1988 and I wondered HOW we got there (I was the one who drove!)? It must have been the Thomas Guide or a giant AAA map book…

When I was twelve I was able to buy live ammunition at the local hardware store with a note from a parent.

Pan Am

And I still use paper maps. I need to be able to see a bigger picture than a tiny screen.

I am so old I remember when washing powder actually cleaned clothes without 3 or 4 different add ons to do the same job.

I also remember rivers struggling so not all changes are for the worse I guess.

ISOIR remember when washing powder didn’t have a brand new formula, and left your whites just plain white rather than a whiter white or even a blue white.

Times were tough!!

I remember when Coke thought they could change their formula without people revolting. Boy were they wrong!

AAA called the flip books a “Trip Tik”, you could call and pick it up at the closest office a few days later.

Defunct airlines: ANSETT Primarily domestic Australian carrier, I still have a canvas ticket holder I received as a prem for booking a PanAm flight through them.
