TDF?

Prolly not. What I is watchin', though.

This would've been more appropriate under my last AV. Maybe Kraftwerk is the best group in the Universe?
(BOC is as tight as they come, though)

That Kraftwerk av was creepy, like an advertisement for Thorazine. The guys looked way sedated. Cool TDF thingie, though.

I raise you the Killers, though. Straddle bet.

That make up for the flop thing?

Love the killers. The singing ones...not the murderous ones.

Although I think I like Read My Mind better than When You Were Young. Close though.

Like these guys too:

Very. I wonder if TME was inspired by TEE ?

(MTVM: Creepy, true. Maybe it's a German thing. But where would electronic music be without them? I'll go along with the Thorazine. It was the 70's, after all. I'll add they kind of remind me of the yearbook photos of every band teacher I've ever had...
oh, one more thing: no more live straddles, please. People who play those are either incompetent or insanely skilled players. You know I know you're not the former. ;) )

As this is a poetry forum, this video seemed to be relevant.

Don't y'all now trash all over me if it ain't how you view the saint, y'hear?

good stuff.

here's a Brooklyn girl . . . comes from right around my corner . . . not theatrical, just solid as hell. never scared to play live, by herself, as she does here, in a little NYC club.

the girl can write.

New York is impossibly handsome
impossibly bright
but his hands are too busy
his shirts are too shiny and tight
on Fridays he dances to metronomes
so he can keep counting
all night all night all night

every time that I see her
my heart ends up begging to stay
she’s been calling me to her
she tortures me every day

have you been on a joyride
say your best backslide
then rocked all night
till you’re trembling and sore?

please take me in your scented arms
New Orleans, I’m coming for more
oh, New Orleans I’m coming for more

i know angels can lie
if it lightens your load
they’ll be stroking your cheek
but they’re speaking in code
they’ll take all your money
and then hit the road
and leave you broken and smiling

he has no use for me
he never looks in my eyes
I’ve been waking in panic
it’s no way to live or to die
I’ve nothing of value to bring you
I come to you wasted and poor

please take me in your scented arms
New Orleans, I’m coming for more
oh, New Orleans I’m coming for more

in the rush and the spin
in the flush of my sin
she’ll be rolling her eyes
while she beckons me in
god, let me love truly
forgive every nation
and walk like a woman again

baby, I love you
but baby, I just have to go
I’ve got so much to learn
she’s got secrets I just have to know

I left my true love for you
Oh, just take everything
I’ll do what you want me to do

please take me in your scented arms
New Orleans, I’m coming for you
oh, New Orleans I’m coming for you

Nice. Usually sensitive singer-songwriters with acoustic guitars give me digestive distress, since I dated one too many in college, but her I'll listen to.
thanks.

Bjork. Gotta love a girl who brings in someone to play snow.

Portishead: Great group; great song.

For those who ne'er venture into the GB: Let it rain . Why do I love this song? (note: you can't argue until you've heard the whole song...they told me to say that.) I need therapy. Maybe more alcohol. (Only tried absinthe once: my wacky post-college roommate got a hold of some wormwood and it was all down hill from there. Really, how drunk do you need to be? I'm too much of a lightweight to do that to myself again.)

or http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3saMsIfouOk which I wonder if there is any rose colored garden that sees beyond the colors....to understand its own reflection..

David Daniels hits the high notes.

It's Tath's fault, for posting that Bowie/Nomi thing.

I suppose I could counter with the " Queen of the Night" aria from " The Magic Flute"..now those are some high notes.
Nomi actually did a piece called " The Cold Song" which was, I believe, from an opera called King Arthur or something like that.
Very moving to see him do it and know, at the time, he had AIDS, which was then virtually unknown and was still being called " The Gay Cancer".
I'd post it but it's rather long....

He was a talented little guy
