I feel pretty!

I need a pedicure right now. I like my toes with polish but I'm not that into it on my hands. I've become a lot more hippie nature girl in the last two years. I think I've even lost my fashion mojo. It's very sad. I feel totally uninspired. Not that I look terrible or anything (no one panic), more that I could live in a black tank and a black skirt.

On another note, I have a dishwasher, but one does have to scrub and rinse and all that first!

I've been more nature chick, comfortable in a t-shirt and jeans. Lately I've been wanting to wear skirts, hose, heels, and such.

Although I gave myself a pedicure tonight, I don't do the polish on fingernails much either. I use my hands too much for it to not chip the first day.

Of course you know.....duh me. You even know how ta make cannoli

I can. If forced. I need written instructions, however.

Hey this actually lands on the thread -

I felt pretty when my deceased mom's BF's dad looked up and said "this tates like my mother's" when I made Chicken Marsala. Maybe he was just being nice. There's a weird kind of femme pride and joy thing I get when dishing up food for people.

I don't have the babymaker thing at all, but I wish I had a troop to feed.

mmm...pedicure...

makes me think of a whole spa day! pedicure, manicure, facial, massage...
:D:D

Not fair! I can't afford all that. Mmmmm massage....I want one of those really bad.

Ok, so this is weird, but I don't like massages. I mean, I do, but not from people I don't know cause they ALWAYS hurt me.

The spurs on my back don't like to be touched. (It's cause of the way my back is twisted.) It doesn't matter what you're doing to them, if you touch them I will say "Please. Stop. Doing. That. NOW.".

The only person I will let rub my back is K, and that's cause he knows to leave my spine alone.

I tend to prefer massages from my husband too. It always feels strange with others.

However, a scalp massage that I got one time was WORTH the strangeness! Wow!

Dying my hair back to auburn...why fight the red?? lol
It goes better with my eyes and skin tone

*puts on RedSox ballcap and flies to the store for a color found in nature*

That's why I ALWAYS suggest leaving coloring to the professionals. This kind of stuff happens all the time.

You can get something that will take the color out or most of it. I did a ridiculously red color by accident once. It was a color my kids were using at the time and I grabbed the wrong box out of the cabinet!

The professionals never quite get it right for me, they cost a fortune, take forever and their places SMELL.

I got my hair done yesterday. Light brown streaks. I'm really pleased. :D

That's the exact color it is! Like Kelly Osborne on Ozzy's show! (well, maybe not quite that bad..*chuckle*) I only left it on for about 4 minutes and immediately jumped in the shower and washed it out...didn't work though. Bought another color to try tomorrow. I won't pay the salon prices either, since I usually get it right.

Equally weird...I am not the least bit maso...but hurt me in a massage? Hell, yes! Because that means something is getting fixed. ;)

I usually end up getting massages as a result of something, rather than as a relaxing thing. (Although one day I would genuinely like to experience a massage for the hell of it rather than as an emergency procedure.)

So I am usually already in serious pain when I see the therapist. And I have frequently left bruised and battered but totally happy because the pain/issue that sent me there in the first place is gone. And at least my body is now moving the way nature intended.

Is there a label for this?

I've never left a massage therapist feeling better. Well, except for when it was my physical therapist. I normally leave limping and near tears.

I don't know how many people I tell not to touch my spine who just think that everyone else did it wrong.

What do you mean "quite right"?

I tell them what I want. They don't do what I want. The shade is off or something, every single time. When I do it at home I get what I want except for that time I grabbed the wrong box off the shelf.

I like doing it myself, on my own time, in my own way.

Huh. That's really strange, seeing as how the quality of salon products and the gentleness is usually far better than the box brand.

Of course, I'm speaking from the point of veiw from a girl who NOW has virgin hair, so YMMV. I will NEVER EVER go back to box color again, that crap ruined my hair. I won't color it again until I can find a hairstylist here in this town I can trust.

Three years and several hairstylists later, I haven't found one yet. I'm lucky not to have roots to worry about. Haha!

Seems to be difficult for them to understand the concept of strawberry blond.

Does it come out too blonde or too red? Brassy? Too dark?

With an in-between shade like strawberry blonde, it's understandably difficult, personally were I a stylist I would dual-treat the hair, dying it a light shade of red first, then foiling in VERY fine blonde highlights, for the effect of lightening the entire color...but that's just me.
