Aragorn. But while he was in his rousing the troops and verbose mode, not his supergroomed mode at the end.
Ladies......

So glad you enjoyed the photos!

I do agree that he's an exceedingly hot and Domly type of guy. But in LOTR Fantasy Land, I am faithful to Eomer. ;)

(However, I will cast my vote with Brioche's preference regarding Viggo's personal appearance in the film.)

 Who will burn you at the stake? This is your thread, after all! :nana:

On a more serious note - yes, I do remember (now that you mention it) that Yul Bryner died of lung cancer. But that is honestly not why I posted his photo. He just popped into my head when I was thinking of Domly guys in film (and I really do love that song, when Lady Thiang sings it).

Wonderful choice, BB. :rose: Can't really think of a person who better owned a role. Another favorite song from the show is "We Kiss in Shadow" I was brought up on R & H (my mother did one woman shows professionally).

Anybody know how I can post a sound file?

I've got a domly voice to give you that will match a picture but I want to give you the voice with an appropriate quote first.

You've got.....about 45 minutes to come up with something for me. That's how long it'll take me to get home.

Hi, B.

I have no clue, but RJ posted this recently:

Okay, this is irritating me to no end because when I left the office the site worked fine but now that I'm home it's not working for me. Perhaps it is my home PC. Just in case.......I'm going to post a link. If it works for you, please let me know.

I'll print the quote in case you can't hear it since what he says is as fitting here as the voice that says it and then I'll give you a couple of pics in a minute.

"'God will give me justice.' People are always trying to motivate themselves. Or they keep calendars. But soon they loose interest, or they die..."

"There's a window"

"....and all I'm left with is a rather unsightly wall, I'm afraid. So, I have concieved of another way to help our prisoners keep track of time. Every year, on the anniversary of their imprisonment, we hurt them. Usually just a simple beating, really. Although, on their first day here, in your case, today, I like to do something
rather special. And if you're thinking just now, 'Why me, oh God?'...the answer is, God has nothing to do with it. In fact, God is never in France this time of year."

One of his smaller roles, but, ah, so delicious.

It worked perfectly, B. I saw that film - and, yes, he is absolutely chilling!!

Before I get back to the Voice I'll post some pics. I've tried to get two shots of each with a younger and an older so nobody says "Oh, well, maybe if he was more in my age range."

Armand Assanted, Yul Brenner, fuckin' hot.

A big thank you to Rebecca since I'm one of the few people I know who thinks Marlon Brando was as sexually compelling in Don Juan Di Marco as he was in A Streetcar Named Desire. No amount of fat or age could take Brando's power from him. I think his life maybe broke his heart, but there was something essential about Brando that moved me every time I saw him. There was a force about him and to have that at 300lbs in your 60's, with a freakish lifestyle and a career in the toilet, with your best work behind you, a tabloid family and a starring role as a painted freak in a remake of a movie that was awful even when Michael York did it in the 70's, THAT, my friends, is charisma.

Here are a couple of my faves:

Rutger Hauer

Looking a bit like Paul Newman in this youthful picture.

The directness of his gaze hasn't lost a thing since A Soldier of Orange.

Oh, I'm so glad!!! At least somebody can hear it even if I'm missing it. I just love that whole segment. There's another part later on that goes:

"Alright. Let's make a bargain, shall we? You ask God for help and I'll stop the moment he shows up."

I think the most chilling thing about him is that there's no overt malice in him. He seems cheerful but not in that over-the-top madman kind of way. It's a brilliant bit of acting. He never overplays his hand and that makes him all the more real and therefore terrifying because somehow you keep hoping that he's really not that bad.

Sorry, this is an on the set shot from The Three Musketeers, but I was trying to stay with black and white as much as possible.

Great shots, B! Especially that last one.

Were you able to find one from The Count of Monte Cristo? He has BY FAR the best lines in that movie! Omigod, the ones you have posted alone are worth the price of admission (or DVD rental! ).

Wilem Dafoe has to be on the list --- well, he's always on my list anyway. The two roles that immediately come to mind for me are To Live in LA and Wild at Heart -- think of the scene where he's in the hotel room with Lula (Laura Dern). She's all alone and she's been throwing up from morning sickness and she's barely dressed in that silk teddy thing and he's stroking her nipple and pinching it through the silk and telling her to beg him to fuck her. He's got those nasty, awful teeth and he's making her want him and she's scared and grossed out but she does want him and the minute she says it and means it he's like "Ha! Gotcha! See ya later!" and he leaves here standing there boiling in her own lust.

I forget what a pretty young man he was. I always think of him as harsh-featured, but he truly was pretty at one point. Not pretty like Brad Pitt or Rob Lowe, but still, full and ripe, somehow. Anyway, here you go:

Dafoe youthful

Fury,

Ah, Billy Zane, that man has the most lucious mouth and, yes, I'd wager he's a top from what I've seen of him in interviews and candid stuff.

Excellent choice!
