I agree about the ears and I LOVE dobbies! They are lovely Raven!

I must say my cats are very people centric. They will totally be pissed if you ignore them. I believe people have stereotypes of cats that are not necessarily accurate!

Here is one of mine:

Sook : person or animal who is soft, tame, inoffensive. Hence sooky (adj.) ~ Australian Slang Dictionary ~ http://www.koalanet.com.au/australian-slang.html#S

Unfortunately you misunderstood me. I was off to 'adopt' an 'image' of a pet for Mr Joe Schmoe who has been away from Lit for a while as a welcoming gift. He was in fact one of the first to genuinely welcome me to the Board here Raven a fact I still appreciate. His presence was missed (equally enjoyed contributing art to Mr Assassins Threads).

Speaking of M.I.A. hmmmmn Who has heard from Mr Betticus ?

Sorry, mistook what was going on. Here is one last one. He was our first dobie and he died of cardiomyopathy in Dec of 2004 at 10 1/2. He was the biggest mush. His name was Caesar. He and Raven were full brothers and weighed about 105 lbs each.

Morning Leeroy , all true ....though I'll admit dogs don't try and sneak in and sleep on your hair in Winter ;) ........waiting for caffiene to kick in here

Then again Madam Rebecca when I walk in the middle of the night to Walmart its not a cat that starts a barking Fury that get other dogs to bark too. I love cats more because they are so much like me. When cats are displeased or not wanting people around them they show it and the reverse is the same too, or it could be the fact that my parents named me in such a way that my intinals spell cat. I wonder if that helped form personality like a cats too??

Hey Leeroy

Here is 'my' cat Dommy taken about an hour ago on le brothers mobile , its a very average picture but will do untill I get the others tomorrow.

http://i28.photobucket.com/albums/c224/rebecca000/kittttttttten.jpg

I am a cat person myself , I have 'owned' dogs because either a family member has died or outgrown the novelty and having land inherited them rather than ....well lets not go there . I grew to love them but from a distance . My cats I have been more devoted to have taught all but the last one to fetch. This cat I decided to teach to read instead. It was a long and painful journey but its kind a reward in itself now I see Dommy out there choosing his own literature (see above)......omg..... :D Forgive me Leeroy I have had a sad day and I'll be making up for it any way I can....smirks

PS Oh and Leeroy whats with the 'Madam' your scaring me !!!!! Is the cheque in the mail ?

Well I could take sad alot better then pissed off day. Spent over 15 hours on warcraft get stuff quested and beat down. In mins all this effort was undone because my focking guild would not decide to lend me a hand or should I say the classes I needed would not help. I would welcome hearing how your day went to the pisser too if you care to share. I like cats way better then dogs but not sure I will ever have another pet again, don't want to do the litterbox or yard clean up. ;) I do like the pic though I wonder if he is learning to read by sounding out the words. :catroar:

As for the Madam, truck drivers are the last real cowboys of the west. In the old west a man, with common manners, might tip his a bit and say Ma'am as a way to aknowledge a woman. I would use this but the social connotation is that your an older lady, this is most likely true in respect to me, but still just not my word. If you do not like Madam I would Lady, I like the chivilry and feudalism of the middle ages. So I leave it to you as to which title I might use if the mood strikes me and I want to show more then the usual respect to the ladies of Lit.

I hope you will forgive me that I leave the details of my day from the Forum they are so 'leeee tragicccccc'.

Re : Madam .......swooooons now I understand your meaning for some reason I thought it meant 'hooker' in the US....laughs.......should the mood strike you Madam Rebecca is fine as long as its clear I do not profess to be a switch. Actually its rather special reminds me of my favorite Puccini Opera , Madama Butterfly......so I take the compliment this time and as graciously as I am able to , thank you Leeroy.

Your choice to share or not, for me I was seething and put it out there no matter how silly it is, its a video game. Its not the game but how people are there in it. Thankfully not been mad at anyone here sometimes a bit jealous but that is easy to deal with. So your not a switch is that maybe why you did not capitalize your nickname?? Sounds silly again but think about it if your a slave or submissive you might just do that unknowningly. Though when I use Madam I mean it to sign of respect, so what happens the next time will it still be a compliment??

Leeroy, please forgive me if you are already aware of the information provided below. I'd like to give you a heads-up about language used on this Board.

I note that the biography on your profile states: "I am looking for a dominate woman to show me the joys of submission." There are various ways in which dominant women ("Dommes") are addressed here at Lit, including:

Ma'am
Lady
Mistress

The male equivalents (for Doms) are:

Sir
Lord
Master

Perhaps you noticed Rebecca politely asking Shankara not to refer to her as "Ma'am". I am guessing that this is not due to age sensitivity, but rather due to the fact that Rebecca is uncomfortable being addressed in the same way that Dommes are addressed on this Board.

[Rebecca, please forgive & correct me if I am misrepresenting your feelings in this regard.]

The submissives here at Lit seem to fall into one of four categories:

1) Those who will address any self-professed Dom/me with the title Sir/Ma'am/etc.

2) Those who address the Dom/mes whom they admire or respect with the title Sir/Ma'am/etc.

3) Those who only address the Dom/me to whom they formally submit with the title Sir/Ma'am/etc.

4) Those who think the titles are unnecessary or stereotypical to the point of being trite, and don't employ them at all - unless instructed to do so by their dominant.

Similarly, the dominants seem to fall into various groups, such as:

1) Those who appreciate being addressed as Sir/Ma'am/etc. by any and all who are willing to do so.

2) Those who consider it presumptuous to be addressed as Sir/Ma'am/etc. by someone who is not their submissive, or has not been given permission to do so.

For this reason, asking how someone would like to be addressed is always a good idea if you "want to show more then the usual respect to the ladies of Lit."

Again, I hope I have not offended you by providing information of which you were already aware.

Kinda figured that was the reason why Rebecca said that. No I'm not offended really, I would rather include a title or sorts but not at the expense of being selfish and boorish to others here at lit, be they female or male. Not sure I saw her say anything or this would have been a non issue too.

I obviously misinterpreted the comments you made in which you contemplated referring to Rebecca with the title "Ma'am" or "Lady".

My apologies,
Alice

Offline my first name is always capped Leeroy , though I am certain you realise that . I was trained to lower case my scene name/nickname within areas that have a influence of BDSM and D/s protocols. In my more personal relationships with people from the 'community' I am called by the name my mother gave me in private. Lower casing not unlike my scene name has become habitual however.

The only time you will ever hear of me 'switching' is between the protocols of my name......laughs. I am a submissive to the core and am still looking for a cure. As I said Madam is fine with me in the context you expressed Leeroy and I take the compliment as its intended......smiles

Hey who said I wasn't age sensitive....lol...
Actually Alice you are correct . I use the terms 'Sir and Ma'am' exclusively for Dom/me I respect and feel comfortable enough with that they know me and don't view it as a sycophantic gesture on my part. I adress my Mentor as Ma'am and as our 'status' is different ( note not better or worse) it does in fact make me uncomfortable to be reffered to in same here. I guess it shouldn't but it does. As I have stated before in a 5 star Hotel where staff refer to all woman when not using the full given name as 'Ma'am' I am not uncomfortable. The 'brat' in me says even Breakfast Cereal names are capped .......smiles. I am quite content following protocols and rituals however so I guess we can leave it at that.

Thanks Alice your summary seems to me in regards to varying uses of title as on the money.

Ohh and where is Shank I thinks its my turn to get him coffee......smiles

There is no cure, only remedies for the symptoms. I do not believe submissiosis :p is terminal so do not worry your pretty lil head over it.

*Deep breath*

Like I said I figured Rebecca lower cased her name to show her subbiness, though I thought I did the opposit. May be its because I am to lazy to hit the shift button or that submissive part of me?? I will be using the titles for the ladies sparingly, though will most likely not do the same for any guys. Out there in the really real world, people use these generic titles because of a deference to you like Rebecca's example.

Rebecca the only cure for your ailment is to practice until you can nearly perfect your ability to submit. I would say perfect but we are only human and are bound to mess up at some time, so I hope you enjoy the practice.

This could work if not for 2 tiny problems. The first and nastier of the two is if its not the poisonous snakes in your house or just around somewhere, then its the oceanlife that could vera well kill you. The other well I want to be like you sorta, need to explore just how far and how much I can be submissive to a woman. Though at times I would also wish to be the dominate person in the activities.

I was taught in school to capitalize names so I tend to do that even if people don't do it for themselves here.

I never mean to call anyone by a title that will mean they are my Master or Mistress because they aren't and that would piss me off if I were them but sometimes I do slip and use a Sir or Lady. Those are meant to denote that person is respected or respected and lovely in the case of the later term.

I refuse to agree that I own or will Domme someone online. I tried that once to make someone happy. It didn't really work because my heart isn't in it and that person didn't do as told and was rather demanding, (as are most of the submissive males I've talked to or known.)

I have called a few by honorifics meant to mean they held my submission in some way online. *sighs* Those didn't last.

*sings*

"Everything is only temporary anyway."

I'm glad to see you Miss Rebecca. I heard there had been a disaster where you are.

"Charley?" no, he's not tuna.
