Well it is lovely here :rose: Miss Fury :rose: ......millions of lovely places in the World. I told the truth though I was being selective. Perhaps if I had mentioned the child passed out almost when the bus is due because he had been up (hence I was ) a good 70% of the night. That I have been nursing almost 24/7 for 3 and 1/2 weeks (no exageration) with only 6 hours real respite in that time blah blah blah.......lol......smiles. That I am often sleep deprived ..........blah.....laughs. It is a beautiful morning and I can see the ocean and I am smiling and laughing here mostly.

I don't know how you edit your own work :rose: Miss Fury :rose: good luck with and look forward to hearing about the final outcome xxx

You are nursing?

You have a child that passed out?

I edit my own work very poorly if you ask me. *L*

I can relate on the lack of sleep. *hugs*

Babiesmiles, you made my day. :)

Yes!! That's exactly my point. To me, Atticus Finch is the kind of guy who inspires submission - not just of the body, but the heart and mind as well.

I found the photo at the link below, which also has the text of his closing argument and a link to an MP3 file with Gregory Peck delivering the speech.

That voice....... mmmmmmmmmmmm.

Thank you Alice, that was just great !!! b. :rose:

Sounds like all your effort was worth it Miss Brioche. Must be wonderful working with the little ones. I don't know how you deal with a class though, I am fine in a sandpit with a couple but a whole class oh my.............sounds like your inspiring them thats kind of cool. Hope they don't wear you out though!!!!!!!

It's wonderful and awful and lovely and exhausting and frustrating and adorable all at once. It can be a challenge to deal with the class, yes. It is such a crucial year. I'm their first teacher, I need to show them that learning is fun and exciting, not a chore, and that can be difficult. My position in their life is so crucial - for some of them I am the first person of authority they meet after their parents. It's a big responsibility, and anyone who doesn't see that shouldn't be teaching kindergarten IMHO. People who think I play all day are woefully ignorant. Sorry, mini rant. What I meant to say was thanks.

Kudos for you for stepping into the fire by becoming a teacher, its one of the few jobs that can change your life. Being a teacher is not just a job but I think it can be a way of life that invades all aspects even when your not at school. Its to bad that the world as a whole I suspect does not think teachers deserve more money and respect for their time and efforts.

Passed as Billy Idol and didn't he know it, had to fight for a mirror with him ...awwww, the girls loved him , he was a true man whore and great fun. Played bass guitar in a city band as well .....smiles.....such a tart. We were so wild.....!!!!

Rant away and you make such an excellent point about letting children know that' learning is fun and exciting'. Because it is and should remain that way a life time and if you are instrumental in developing that sense in children then you have my esteem Brioche. My son has had some excellent teachers and thanks to my mother making sure I was not limited by conventional attitudes from her own family and my fathers so did I .I had some truly superb teachers. Its a legacy I carry to this day. As for mini rant pffffffffffffffffffft@tellthemtogetalifeiftheymind.com

Not sure about down under, but here 3 professions need HUGE pay raiseshere in the US, truckers, without them the US would stop in a day. Protection services, cops and firefighers and the like, they risk thier lives to protect others. Teachers without them who would educate the leaders of tomorrow. Conversely these are professions that help define your life in and out of work, so to survive you need to keep the flame of passion about your job burning bright. With this Rebecca I bid you good day and good night.

To be totally honest I am not certain about truckers here , I will ask about a bit I think. Teachers, Policeforce definately underpaid here . Firefighters HAVE to moonlight to survive a fact that disgusts me. I have yet to meet a 'Firey' yet you wouldn't like. Ohhh but one 'career' to add is carers. I'll admit a vested interest in making that comment . I see the results at a grass roots level so I suspect my comment is of some value. Sleep well Leeroy and lovely to have finally met you.

Ohh 'carers' are people that work hard keeping the elderly , the sick , the disabled in their homes by supporting them in numerous practical ways , assisting with quality of life to the disadvantaged and saving the hard earned Tax dollar paid to the Government from the expense of Institutional and Hospital care. Very few are recognised as 'working' even less are ever paid.

I don't own these creatures, but I do spend considerable time and effort providing food for them (and their babies).

Those are photographs taken in my yard last summer. Top to bottom, they are: a tiger swallowtail, a zebra swallowtail, and the larva of a black swallowtail.

The adults are feeding on agastache foeniculum (anise hyssop), and the caterpillar is feeding on foeniculum vulgare (fennel).
