Good work H, you must be stoked!

As for me, doctor's appt tomorrow to try to fix non-stop coughing. Thanks to some...ahem...prodding. ;)

Went to my SLimming World meeting tonight and I've lost 4 pounds :D That is a lot last week's awful 5.5-pound gain reversed :D

Thanks to the posters here who chimed in with positive thoughts a few days ago when I was dealing with having seen the 5.5-pound gain on the scales.

You rock! I knew that gain wouldn't last.:rose:

I've lost four pounds myself, and, more importantly, fit (well) into a dress tonight that I haven't worn in YEARS (definitely since pre-baby) and would have bet money wasn't going to fit before I tried it on. And two of my closest friends told me I look better than I have in about a decade. Belly dancing's payin' off, yo!!

Bench Day

Went for 1RM again

Bench 1rm - 265#

My previous best was 255#, so I should be happy, but I was hoping for a little more.

Three miles today. My ass is dragging now.

Oh, you saw above how I did the big freaky squat, right? The day after, I was as sore as I have ever been in my life without having actually injured myself, and I did a two-mile walk.

DUMB.

I dropped MIS' car off to get inspected, and didn't feel like sitting there for 40 minutes for viv to pick me up, so I walked home.

STUPID.

My legs, they were screaming at me. I was also wearing the wrong shoes for any sort of determined walking, and got a blister the size of the pad of my thumb on the ball of my right foot. Whee.

I am so smrt. S-M-R-T.

Actually made it through most of today without coughing! Thank Cod.

Tomorrow I leave on my bike trip. I was so worried I was going to be hacking the whole time. Hooray for the snot pot and prescription nasal spray!!!

Deadlift Day

Yup, 1RM again

Deadlift 1RM - 455#

I'll take a 30# increase to my all-time best.

Oddly enough, every other PR fail on the DL was due to my hands. The bar felt stapled to floor and would not move, and that means hands. If the mechano-receptors in your mitts sense a weight that they positively know to be too heavy, NOTHING works on the lift. At first, I figured that was what was going on. Nope.

I got the bar off the ground. Twice. It came up off the ground about an inch, as that is as far as the initial shrug gets me. Aaand that was it. Nothing else. I figured maybe my legs were tanked, as they were still a little stiff from the huge PR monday. Nope. My legs feel great right now.

The problem was, oddly enough for me, my core. The core would not move the weight. In retrospect, this does not surprise me, as my core has been a trainwreck all week. I exhausted it utterly with that big lift on monday, then nailed it again with the big bench on wednesday. It probably should not surprise me that it would fail today under heavy load.

Still, I'd hoped for more. Glad to bump this lift up, and do it solidly, but I wanted more. Classically, my dead has always been about 30# better than my squat. If I could've gotten that extra 30#, I would've been spitting distance from my 500# dead goal. C'est la vie, eh? I really shouldn't bitch about a 30# PR.

But, as my boy AP said when I told him about the bench, "This is you. It'll NEVER be enough weight on the bar." He's right too. When I run out of plates, I'll just go buy more. And they won't be enough either.

It's been a good week.

The gym is now on summer hours. I know it's hot but it's not summer yet. On Saturday they are closing at 1 instead of 3. I just as soon be done before lunch I guess.

Just arms which isn't too bad. And the shoulder shrugs I blew off earlier.

Deload Week

Spend the day deloading various heavy things.

Instead of training, I told LB that he would be helping me move, tote, and carry. Over the weekend, I bought a new shed, lumber, grill, etc, and picked it up today. LB was very handy, especially as the shed boxes were huge and freak heavy. It also helped to have a hand in cleaning out all the crap in the area where the shed will be set.

Wednesday will see us digging out the area where the shed's floor will be constructed, and friday will be building it.

So far as I am concerned, NEPA is an excellent deload.

(For those not familiar with the term, NEPA is Non-Exercise Physical Activity, and covers all sorts of physical work/movement that is not exercise/training-related. It is a very important concept with folks trying to lose weight, as increasing NEPA is an excellent way to help burn off unwanted weight.)

--

As an aside, I feel good, physically. I'm a little tired, sure, but LB and I worked HARD today, and I never got winded. So far as I saw, neither did he. Huge shed, many 60# bags of pea gravel, multiple sheets of outdoor plywood, various tools, and cleaning up enough random crap to fill a 14' box truck got toted around today. We both held up really well.

Guess we're doing something right :)

I've been doing better than I have been in a long while. I'm still not as consistent as I would like. This time of the year is so insanely busy for me which makes it really hard to fit everything in. I'm wanting to get up early and walk each morning and do some type of workout in the evening. I haven't been able to drag myself out of bed early enough except for once in the last couple of weeks.

Bike trip was awesome and physically demanding...yes, I have the scrapes and bruises to prove it.

However, the cough continues. Looks like I'll be taking the antibiotics after all.

Fuck.

Cycle 3, Wave D
Deload week

Today's effort was to dig a hole 3" deep, 8ft by 7ft, fill it with gravel, and lay a floor of outdoor treated plywood.

I hate shoveling.

By tomorrow I will have made it to 4 gym classes 4 days in a row

Pilates is harder than I remember, I did a class last night so I wouldn't have to sit through a TV show Sir was going to watch - only to find when I got home that He'd got bored with it and I could have watched something else instead!

Oh well at least I had a workout instead of blobbing on the couch

Oh, I forgot - my gym is starting Zumba classes in a couple of weeks, might have to give that one a go too :cattail:

Weight as of this morning 69.8kg :D

I think I've conditioned my legs enough to where I can and need to add more weight to squats. Tuesday I ended with 2 sets of 12 with 140 pounds and got a good burn. As long as I get sore I figure I'm doing something right. Now I'm ready for 4 weeks of good bench work. See if I can get 225 by the end of it.
