I guess there is educationally... like no matter what it is I can probably get a way with it. Or nostalgia.....sometimes you see old friends. Or possibly the subjects are unique.... their actions are less predicable. What makes one person annoyed by married to file for divorce, and another decide murder is the best solution. how does one nurse switch to an angel of death etc etc. Of course, crime documentaries rarely answer that. They just pick things and pieces they can sensationalize and omit less convenient truths so there isn't enough truth left to really get the turning point in why.
