I’ve found that I have more meaningful connections on Skype than here. It’s partly because moving to Skype is reserved for people I’ve interacted with a lot and have a desire to get to know better. The other part is just that it’s more conducive to conversations as it’s real time as well as easier to share audio or pictures.

I’m not trying to convince you to change your stance AT ALL. I’m just sharing my experience

Making more meaningful connections is appealing and I can see how it could happen especially since it is a self selected group.
I've got some off lit platforms I've used that are similar but with a lot less users so I think I kind of get it.
And heck I'm relatively new to lit maybe ill change my mind.

I don't know, moving to Skype is one of the things that make this place so unfriendly. That's where the cliques start, and those have caused too much turmoil and made this playground a haven for thugs and bullies. Skype is a great place to run to and stir up crap and make everyone that doesn't run there feel unwanted and neglected.

I'd say I've had very much the same experience. I've mainly used Google Chat and Skype. Used Kik for a short while. Didn't mind it but haven't used it in forever. Skype had pretty much become my only outside-Lit mode of communication as of late, though.

One thing I really like is the ability to record and send voice messages very easily. Alot of the free time I get is driving, so it's kind of nice to be able to record something and send it during my commute. Also good for sharing pics and videos, and not just dirty ones (get y'all's minds out of the gutter ).

Not gonna lie, I was set against Skype at first myself. After awhile I realized that I was already using Google Chat at that point, so it wasn't really that different. I've just found more people use Skype than Google Chat.

Same. The number of people I communicate with on Skype is very small, but I love that it allows us to have more natural conversations. PMs in here are fine, but having a more real-time chat is just much more personal.

And it allows me to be a smart-ass in real time.

Also, there are times I may step away from Lit for a bit, and it's nice to be able to stay in touch with friends here even if I'm not checking in on the forums.
