IC for the land of L'anDanora!

Arisu touched her chin and pulled her hand away, her two fingers glistening. Somehow. A small blush came across herself as she thanked the man. Sitting down, she reached into her belt and pulled out two vials. They were clear but, there was a small cloth that was tied down with some thine. She pulled her hood over her head, shielding her face from him. Opening her small mouth, she managed to unhinge it, allowing her face to extend completely down, showing just how long they were. A small drop of her deadly venom stained the ground below her. After a minute, she closed her eyes and managed to poke her tooth into the cloth. It only took a few minutes altogether.

(For a visual, imagine someone milking an actual snake. It's a similar process.)

Finding caps, she put a cover on them, and slid it back into her side before standing up. She pulled down the hood, and looked up at him. Arisu appeared to be a little dizzy, her body swaying to and fro. But she held up a head. "Sorry, milking venom is not only embarrassing but my body doesn't seem to understand it. Still," she reached for one of her freshly milked posion. "Here, take it. Think of it... as a 'Thank you.'" She meant about the horses.

The ivory colored girl was tempted to look behind her. Something bright was flashing in the corner of her eye.

Leo

Leo nodded and accepted the vial, placing it in the folds of his robes. He turned to look at her and saw the candlelight flickering in her eyes. He turned, angered, and cast a dark ball of energy at it. A scream in the distance. The candle went out. He turned back to Arisu. She seemed woozy. He reached out and held her steady. He shook his head and picked her off the ground with ease. He held her in his arms and started moving down the road, following the slight mental tug that was their party's location. He glanced down at the almost childish figure in his arms.

"Are you going to be alright?" he asked, his voice it's usual cold, but with a slight tinge of concern. He shuddered at the sound of it. While he waited for the reply of his seemingly sleepy companion, he thought about the vial of venom. It was going for a good price on the market, but he had no intention of selling it. On the contrary, he got the feeling he might need it sometime during this whole adventure. He turned his gaze back to the small woman in his arms, but kept a close watch on the shadows around them.

Vushlo

Cold? How dare that female call his summoning cold? He made as perfect to a horse as he could. As they rode Vushlo mulled this over, he could sense movement among the Shadow Realm, but it didn't concern him, what did concern him was movement behind them. He stopped, the horse that have been trailing the group came walking past him. He could feel the presence drew closer, curiosity killed the cat they say, he was going to find out if curiosity is a killer or not. Turning his head to look directly at the pursuer he spoke

"I know that you are there, reveal yourself or join the ranks of the dead this very day"

Swinging up onto his horse, Namennarg guided her out of the stable behind the soldier. Lost in his own thoughts, he was suddenly brought out of them when he heard the Knight speak. Apparently the Knight had sensed someone behind them. Namennarg wheeled his horse around and went to wait with the Knight.

Arisu jumped at the scream and the light went out. Well, there went her fun. Oh right, she WASN'T supposed to look at the lights. Silly, silly... idiot. She rubbed at the joint of the jaw, her fingers moving in circles. Oh, every time she unhinged it, it ached. And many wondered why she didn't eat animals. They hurt too. Plants and berries didn't. They were yummy for her tummy.

"Ah, I'm always sleepy unless I'm in the sun. No need worry," she muttered, looking down at the ground. Man, people like carrying her. Not that she'd complain. "I'm a snake, after all. Snake don't like cold- correction, 99.99% of them don't like cold. For once, she was apart of the majority. She looked at her feet, staring at them as though she could make them bigger. "Besides, this is actually kinda fun. But hard not to stare at the lights."

She looked up and smiled. Hey, the Reaper wasn't so bad. She couldn't say about the first one that talked her. Many once she got a good look at his weapons.

Leo

Leo nodded. It made sense. Snakes had never liked the cold. He noticed the smile on her face. Since when do people smile at him? It was something he wasn't used to, and wasn't sure if he liked it or not. A movement caught his eye. It was moving toward them. He looked down at Arisu quickly.

"Close your eyes." he warned her, and turned to face the newcomer.

Not as bad as he thought it would be. It was just a curious spirit. Leo explained their business, or more rather, HER business being here. Only the dead were supposed to ever see this realm. The spirit moved away, and the Reaper, carrying his companion, started the walk after that mental tug.

"You can open your eyes now." he said to Arisu. Though he noticed that two of them had stopped. He looked to where they would have been if they had been in this realm and waited for them to start moving again. If they didn't, he would have to transition back. He didn't sense and fighting going on, though, so he assumed they would be alright.

Nyme

Aw, now I see. This dead rider has a pet. "Kind of strange looking thing. Sort of like a snake, but not entirely" Nyme thought. Strange pet for a strange person. Nyme move on to catch up with the others. The humans are what Nyme is most interested in. "There seems to be two humans in the group as best as I can tell. I must get closer to them." Nyme just needs to get a good scent from them to tell if either of them is one the murderous humans.

"Close your eyes."

She nodded and closed her eyes, swinging her legs lightly, so not to cause him harm. Not that she knew he couldn't or could feel pain. She just didn't want to be the one to test it out. She leaned against, in which she guessed, was his chest and sighed, waiting for him to finish. Humming softly to herself, she started to count the berries jumping over a bucket in her mind. One berry... two berry... three berry.... forty five berries....

"You can open your eyes now."

She looked up at his... well, hood really. "What's wrong? Is something wrong on the other side of the thingie?" she asked, squiggling in his arms. Her eyes squinted, as if she was trying to make out his face. "You can put me down if you want. I don't wanna slow you down or anything."

"No, nothing is wrong. Just curious."

Leo moved quickly, though quietly. He noticed her squint, trying to see the face in his cowl. In all truth, he wasn't sure he would be able to handle putting the small woman down.

"No, it is not a problem. And you should stop trying to see past the shadows. In these shadows is a face, but it is not mine. The shadows are my face now."

He sighed internally, but kept his body language as it always was. Did he truly believe that? He was not sure, for the first time about his own body. An odd thing it is, being inside a body yet not knowing everything about it, not being sure about it. He looked down at Arisu. He kept his gaze on her for a few seconds before looking up at the darkness around them again.

"Oh. Well, curiousity may have killed the cat, but satisfaction brought it back," she said. "Or something some old man once told me." Arisu just shrugged. Hey, she had been many time herself that. Although, afterwards, she had to run for her life. Or hit people with her Hammer.

"A face is a face," she replied. "We all have different ones, even if they tend to be masked." She continued to stare, as if she could see into shadows. "And I can look for however long I want. I'm not allowed to look at the lights, remember?"

She bit her lip and started to fiddle with a small hammer. "Oh, to have to squint and guess where the eyes are. So easy on human-like people. 'cept women. They are scary."

Leo

Leo glanced down again. She was right. She was supposed to look anywhere but the lights. Why she chose to look at him, however, was very curioius. He shrugged. Whatever reasons were her own.

"As you wish."

He turned his attention to the tug in his mind. Still there. Good. He looked down at her again.

"Why do you find women scary? Are you not a woman yourself?"

Arisu sucked in some air, and choked on it for a while. "Wow... air is deadly," she joked, happy that she wasn't dead. Yet. The snake had an understanding that someone could die at any second. "And of course, everything is as I wish it... it just never comes the way I want it, unfortunately."

She wished to be tall.

She never said she wanted considered tall by short midgets.

"My dear Reaper," Arisu began. "We women are a breed like no other. For example... that damn cat and I will never like each other but we will tolerate each other... if only barely. Now, place us together, only us, in an empty room with no windows or doors... and you might see us trying to kill each other, before or after we work together to get out. It's a lot more complicated than that but... it's the best way to explain it."

Leo listened quietly. So it would seem that they are interesting creatures. He had never really had a woman in his life before...Well. Before he began his new life. But he was alright with it. This was the life he was meant to live, so he did not regret his initial death by any means. He looked down at Arisu. If he had a type, he would suppose that she was it. He shook his head and looked away.

"I see. I originally though that you just didn't like cats, but it would seem that you do not like other women in general. Unless I misread your words?" he tilted his head at her.

"Oh, women are just fine," the snake replied. "I just don't like cats. And there is a woman who is a cat. Who doesn't like snakes. As long as neither of us knowing breaches the unsaid truce, we'll be fine." She sighed, wondering how it make it easier. The only thing that made clear sense, at least in her mind, women were just so... damn evil. They could smile at you and say how cool you are and the moment you walk away, just talk behind your back. And not the good things.

It was amazing that men still found them attractive. But she waved her head. "Maa, maa, don't worry your man head about it. It's a women thing," Arisu tried to comfort him by patting his chest. Or so she assumed. So hard to tell with the clothing. "So, how'd you become a Reaper, if you don't mind me asking?"

Leo

He shifted her in his arms, holding her up with one. He held her hand against his chest for a moment, enjoying the touch. He moved her back to where she was before quickly, holding her with both his arms again.

"Not at all. Where to start...Ah, yes. I was a specialist in the armed forces of the Lord of Denalgath. On our last assignment we were to infiltrate the enemy's fortress and sabotage their war effort. Well, we were betrayed. One of our own had given the opposing lord the time and location of our first sabotage effort. We were ambushed, and slaughtered. I was the last man standing..." he shuddered.

"I was finally killed...an arrow to the heart. Damn fine shot by that man. I awoke, suprisingly enough, to a beautiful woman standing over me. She offered me the chance to live again, to be her Reaper. I took the offer. That was over four hundred years ago. I have lived much like this, well aside from carrying women such as yourself around in the shadow realm, since that day. My Lady has given me free roam of this world in exchange for the many souls that I deliver to her."

He glanced down at her, then up at the road again.

Her eyes unfocused as she tried to imagine how it'd feel. She touched the area were her heart was. "Hmm, it must've hurt bad," she said, not getting into the subject of Death. She didn't have a fun time with the subject. "But, you are really brave to choose to live again. I don't think I could do that. Much too scared. And cold. I don't like having a cold body. She crossed her arms and nodded, cause her hair to move. Daring herself, Arisu took a peak around herself. Well, it was... dark. But she rather enjoyed it. Not as bright, the Reaper was warming her body. If one wanted to be alone, this would be the place.

"I rather like being mortal, though," she replied, rubbing her eye. Arisu offered comforting smile as she noticed that two of them stop. So, maybe the stupid one, wasn't so stupid. Not that she disliked him or anything, she just didn't like it when someone stated the obvious. That was HER job. She looked cuter doing it anyway.

"Ano, what do you think is happening over there?"

There was a sudden lack of movement around Naden, and he turned to see the dark knight and Nammenarg staring off into the bushes. He pulled his horse around beside them. "What is it? Feral dogs? A bear?"

He rested his gauntleted left hand around the haft of his weapon, ready to draw it if need be. "If there's animals following us we should kill them" he said, "it won't be good to have them stalking us at the next campsite".

Nyme

Hearing the challenge from menacing looking rider. Nyme turns and runs away in the oppesite direction from him. not trying hide herself. When Nyme gets some distance away, she turns to see if anyone of them is following her.

Hearing a large amount of rustling leaves, Namennarg guessed that Naden was quite close in his guess of a bear. It could also be a wild hog. However, it had responded to the challenge by running. That suggested intelligence. Namennarg decided to ride in the direction of the noise, but didn't want to do so alone. He turned to the other two and asked "Shall we go see what made all that noise?".

Leo

She thought of him as being brave? Was he so brave in choosing life over death? Well, un-life that is. He watched her hair bounce as she nodded. He shook his thoughts away. He had not right nor capability to feel anything for this woman. Or did he? No.

"I'm not sure. Either they stopped to talk about something out of the ears of our other companions, or they enocuntered an altercation. I have no feeling of animosity from the other side, so they are most likely not in any danger. Unless you wanted to be sure? We can go back, if you like."

He didn't necessarily want to leave this realm. He was enjoying his talk with Arisu. He had not talked freely, or this free, at any rate, with another being for quite some time. He stopped on the road and waited for her reply, looking down at her.

Arisu swung her legs once more, finding this place pretty cool. "Eh, to tell you the truth, I rather like it here," she said. She looked over to them again, assessing the situation from the limited information supplied. "And they really don't need us for now. So, I wanna stay here." She wrapped her arms around him, like a little did who didn't want to leave. It was much more interesting in here. She looked up at his 'face'.

"Anyway, there are no cold horses here," she joked. "Wait... are there?"

Arisu let out a small giggle, cover her mouth and squeezing her eyes shut. Oh, the fun she would have.

Leo

Leo started moving again. At least he was not the only one who found peace here. He stiffened slightly when she put her arms around his neck. He didn't exactly dislike it. He sighed, content.

"Remember to look at me." he reminded her. Whether it was for her safety or just because he wanted her eyes on him, he did not know. He shrugged. Whatever the reason, he didn't want her soul taken away.

"Yes, there are quite a few cold horses here. You won't be able to feel them, but they are here, none the less." There were many cold beasts here, for that matter. But he didn't mention those. He just continued walking.

Vushlo

"It is no normal wild animal, but you are right, we can not let it keep stalking us. I would suggest that we follow it"

Without as much as a word Vushlo draws one of his swords and urges the horse into the underbrush, following the energy signature that it left behind. Not afraid of dying as he is already dead and the fact that most creatures could not harm him even if they tried, Vushlo rode almost half blindly through the bushes, following the trail left behind

Nyme

When Nyme sees the rider draw his sword. "Damn!" Nyme thinks to herself. "This is all i need, to have all of them chasing me." Nyme runs into the thicker part of the forest and shpeshifts into a mouse and finds a hole to hide in. "Ah, here's one." Nyme sniffs for any scents and determines that it seem to be safe. Nyme enters the hole to hide from the rider that is stauking for her.

Arisu nodded. "Right," she replied, not looking at anything. Or anyone. Other than him, of course. She closed her eyes for a moment and shivered at the thought of cold horses. "Good. As long as they leave me alone, I don't care." She didn't think she could handle seeing undead snakes. It would've been bad taste.

"So, tell me," she began once more, talking for the sake of talking. "Where exactly were you headed? It seems as though that all of you were heading somewhere." She, obviously, had been a late joiner. Arisu had just been traveling, for the sake of traveling. But she would also admit, she was looking for something that would be able to rival that evil sword. Unfortunately, she couldn't find anything to her satisfy her abnormally high exptections.
