Leo

Leo turned his head slightly to look at Naden. The man spurred his horse and charged down the road towards the opposing group. Leo spun his scythe in a circle behind him before starting a sprint towards the enemy. He transitioned to the shadow realm in time with his first step, dissapearing in a shadowy blur. He sprinted, even in the other realm, and transitioned again when he was right in front of the first orc. He came out in a similar blur and with a bit more momentum than he normally would have had. He stopped, pivoted on his right heel, and brought his left foot around in a shattering reverse kick that knocked the first orc into his companion right behind him. He wasn't sure about the first, but the second was only momentarily down.

Leo started forward again, leaping off of the downed forms of the orcs towards the troll on the right. He spun his scythe in the air and struck down at his foe. It cut a nice gash in the troll's chest and he roared in anger. He swung his massive club around which was barely blocked by Leo due to raw power behind the swing. That was the problem with trolls. They were powerful, but not too bright. Regardless, Leo was knocked back a step from the hit. The second moved up on him, swinging his club wildly. A roll to the right managed to get the Reaper behind his defenses. A downward arc with his scythe caused another long gash. He turned and buried the scythe up to the wood in the first troll's chest. He pulled it out and turned to face the second while the first dropped to the ground with a thud.

Namennarg had been planning on waiting for the enemies to come to them, but Naden charging out like that changed everything. He began running, and arrived at the scene of the fighting just as the Reaper slammed the first orc into the second one, knocking it down. The Reaper then immediately turned his attention to the troll, and landed what would have been a killing blow on anything but a troll. They regenerated to damned fast. It was at this point that Namennarg noticed the orc that had been knocked down was getting to his feet. Taking advantage of it's obvious disorientation, Namennarg swung his ashandarei around and caught the creature on his helmet with the blunt end. He wanted it kept alive in case any information could be gained. He had to leave it up to fate to decide if any of his companions would kill it or not. He watched as the orc dropped to the ground in a heap. There were still four more to deal with, as well as the two trolls. As Leo turned to face off against the second troll, the one he had stabbed in the chest was already starting to get back up. Namennarg had the good fortune of being out of it's line of sight, so the troll didn't know he was back there. He decided that he should draw it's attention, and to that end, he quickly pointed at a good-sized rock on the side of the road, and yelled "ACELERAR ERDE", and then swung his hand around towards the troll. The rock flew and nailed him right in the back of his left shoulder. While it didn't do very much damage, it certainly got it's attention. The troll turned around and looked for the culprit, and laid eyes on Namennarg. It began lumbering towards him, swinging it's club in it's hand. Out from either side of it also came two orcs. Namennarg started backing up slightly, and pointed to the orc on the right. He said "Acelerar vasser", and the water in the air around the orc's head condensed into a ball around it's face, and then began to freeze over. The orc dropped to the ground, his head encased in ice. That left just the troll and the other orc to deal with.

Nyme

"It's time to act!" Nyme said. While Nyme is storming down the road tward the battle, Nyme shapeshifts into krenos form and attacks the last orc with a downward slicing claw. Immediately followed by a Bite attack that rips out the right side of its throat. The orc falls to the ground and Nyme stands over the body howling like a wolf. Nyme turns and eyes the last remaining troll. Ready to attack.

Naden charged, bearing down on the marauders. Just up ahead there was a puff of....something and Leo appeared, scythe in hand. He spun and lashed out with one foot, knocking down two Orcs as the rider passed.

A short distance behind them were two more, and Naden leapt sideways from the saddle, burying his blade half-way through one of the beast's necks as he landed on the ground. He twisted his weapon free and brought it up just in time to deflect a blow from the cleaver-like sword in the other Orc's hand.

The thing snarled with rage as it became unbalanced, staggering to one side as his partner sprayed gouts of blood from his throat. Naden raised his Odachi high in both hands moving for the kill.

It was then that the Troll's huge club smashed into his midsection, knocking the wind from him and sending his body flying from the road and off into the treeline. The giant green abomination grunting with satisfaction.

As I watched the battle ensue from the bushes, I wondered if I should intervine. Nah, if they don't die they don't die. They probably don't have enough money for my boat anyway. If I join them for a time however... that might just get me my last 100 gold!! Oh wait till I find that old bird. I'll kill him myself for this eternal torture!! I jumped out of the bushes, incinerated the first troll I saw, and I lit my two swords ready for combat.

Vushlo

Vushlo watched as Leo, Namennarg and Naden engaged the Orcs and Trolls, it was interesting that they reacted so well to the threat, worked so well as a team. Or maybe it was just their different styles of fighting that filled each other on. Vushlo felt his hands twitch as the one Troll felled Naden, but he stayed where he was, his orders was clear. He was surprised when a humanoid jumped out of the bushes casting some sort of fire spell that incinerated a troll

"Interesting"

Vushlo watched the fight with curiosity, it was not fun sitting on the sides, but it was educational

"WHAT ARE YOU DOING!!!!" I shouted out to Serapis. "WRONG PERSON!!! WRONG SPECIES!!! THEY HAVE NO MONEY!!!" "Just trust me okay??" he replied. My mentor is freakin RETARDED. I whip out an axe and start swinging at whatever green skinned freak i can find, when i notice a man fighting a couple of the trolls. Who is that guy with the creepy hood and scythe?? I thought. Definitely powerful, top of hitlist. Also watch out for the elemantal dude. Could easily overpower Serapis, practically made to extinguish his fire. Couldn't do much if i hit him with a crossbow bolt to the back of the head. I stored all these things in the back of my head, as the rather unfortunate orc i was fighting got hit in the neck, his head was barely attached to his body as the decay kicked in. It pretty well disolved the small amount of flesh left. If Serapis at anytime changed his mind, these people could become our enemies. Ya, the element dude is mine i thought as i saw another orc choking on ice coating his head. "Hello people, obviously we are here to help... I think," I said as i dodged a VERY powerful hit to my head and intercepted another to the back of the knee.

Vushlo

Vushlo watched as another combatant joined in the fray, if he was not undead he would have growled, there was something off about this one...but what it was Vushlo could not tell. In silence he sat and he watched, then he felt it, the stirring of the dark magic that he felt at the keep. It seemed like the use of magic and the energies of battle have awoken it, he could feel a tug on his undead side, clearly something was wrong here. It was no necromancer, it was no magician...it was something big and something that seemed like it was moving in their direction. He was too late to get the group away from the darkness that have slain the inhabitants and the attackers. He would need help to completely banish it, but to slay it he had no help, the undead horses started to become slightly nervous, but Vushlo used his control over them to calm them down. What could make the undead nervous? What was so evil that it could not be slain by normal means?

Hearing the sounds of battle Kana urged her mount all the faster drawing her bow and notching an arrow she slowed as the sounds grew louder and dismounted tethering her horse a distance away she moved carefully forward wanting to get an assesment of the fight before joining the fray..

there were bodies of trolls and goblins on the ground she hated goblins with a passion.. but as these were dead did not concern her what did was the marauders. Kana took careful aim, but then she heard one shout that they were there to help as he dodged a hit to the head only to recive a kick to his knee.. she eased up on her shot but stayed watch full... to see what she could and what was truly happining.. were these new comers enemies or allies to thos she watched..

and how now to approch if she dared..

I slowly mulled over the idea of killing my apprentice right there, i had him on his knees, and although he dodged the first hit it was the second one that i wanted to land. "don't question me. I know what i'm doing. Im not retarded," I told him. I helped him up, and he gave me a solemn look. I looked to see what was left, but the only thing was one orc groaning on the ground, and the still barely concious orc sucking on ice. I broke throught the ice, grabbed him by his head, and pulled him to a safe spot, and hit him till he passed out, which was twice. Just in case the other is reluctant, I thought. He was obviously alive to be interrogated. "Well hello there people!!! You will be happy to know i have decided NOT to fight you!! Maybe the creepy one with the hood, but besides that, your all really cool!! I just don't like people who feel better than everyone else, sorry scythe guy." He was probably pissed underneath that hood. That, or acting nonchalant, but still pretty annoyed. I know i would. If he isn't annoyed, i could never pull of my plan. That's when i felt a chill, something simalar to what i felt when i had passed through a town of the walking dead. But this.. It was bigger than just a town. It was something completely different.

Arisu had just plotted herself down on the ground, arms on her knees, head on her hands, watching what was going on. She was thinking of attacking the orcs, but remembering her previous encounter with them had been the pushing factor. They did not suit well with her. She shook her head. It was then she got a cold shiver down her spine, her snake senses tingling. But she shook her head as more and more people came into view. She sighed and leaned forward, waiting for it to all be over.

"Really," she muttered under her breath. "Why fight things that have no concern?"

Really, it was best to let someone else take care of things.

Arisu slowly stood up as she saw the fighting slow. Ah well, she guessed that they would be on their way. She slung her hammer on her back, but heard something that set her aflame.

“… the creepy one in the hood…”

She appeared next to ‘the creepy one in the hood’ and crossed her arms. “Call ‘im creepy again,” she said. Whether she was taunting him or not, remained to be seen. “And you are lucky we didn’t to fight you. My god, if I was allowed to bite you…” She then calmed herself. Right, right… she already milked herself. If only she could make her poison airborne. A soft sigh left her lips, as she drifted slowly away from reality.

Leo

Leo turned to see a large club swinging right at him. He moved to duck, but didn't have to as the beast was incinerated. He turned to the pyromancer, who then insulted him. Not exactly liking this, the Reaper brought his scythe to bear. He had no intentions of fighting this man, unless he attacked first, of course. He didn't feel a spike of anger like a normal human would. He had cut himself from those petty emotions a long time ago.

Arisu walked up next to him and told him off in what sounded like a threat. Leo wasn't sure though. He did, however, place a hand on her shoulder and whispered in her ear.

"Relax. Don't let him get to you."

He turned and opened his mouth to speak but was cut off by a soft, cool hand on his arm. He heard the voice of his Lady in his mind.

"Prepare yourself, Leo, my Reaper. Vushlo will need you in this fight. Only the dead may slay the coming beast."

Her hand left his cheek and he felt her presence float away. Leo turned to look at Vushlo. Had he been warned by Lady Death as well?

She looked up at him. "Oh, he didn't. I just don't like people like him who think they are high and mighty," she replied shrugging. "Eventually, everyone is gonna loose to someone. Those that don't... are really quite stupid." She tilted her head and felt something... a little off about him. Not in a bad way, but more like he was hearing something no one else could. Not that it was a bad thing, but it wasn't a good thing either.

Arisu followed his gaze toward the dead knight... Death Night? Oh, right, the man with the freezing cold horses. (That was her new name for him. One she could remember quite well.)

She looked back toward the Pyro and stuck her tongue out, not caring that it was childish. She was allowed to act like that. He wasn't. Not in her books. Which was all that mattered. The snake leaned into Leo slightly, her eyes never leaving the fire man. Oh, she clearly didn't like him... heat or not.

Although, the heat was tempting... but the other dead place was even cooler. The Reaper won by miles.

She had hid when the orcs and trolls came running down. She knew that, while in her eagle form, she wasn’t the strongest person around. Emphira was only able to use air spells. The female decided it wasn’t her problem and that eventually, someone would get them. Pushing off the branch, she flapped her large wings and took off at a glide. It wasn’t even ten minutes later that she was right and saw a small band of people fight them off. She said nothing of it but continued on her way. But as she got closer, she landed on a nearby branch, watching what was going on.

Her head tilted to the side, in a bird like manner as she observed what was going on. The young woman noticed a pale small woman- she paused and directed her attention elsewhere. She’d know that snake anywhere. Her parents were trouble enough. The eagle eyes scanned over the Reaper and then the Death Knight. Finally, they rested on the two humans, ignoring all other creatures. They were strong, as far as she could tell. But what interested her was the air of magic around one of them. She moved a little, readjusting the strong wings.

Her eyes flicked back when the smallest stuck out her tongue. She shook her head. Emphira had long grown out of that… when she was a baby. The facial jewels showed in this form, the small colored crystals scattered across her face. Her eyes were completely white, making her appear as though she had no eyes at all. Really, she was not meant to stay hidden for long. And while she knew she should’ve moved on, what would happen below… spiked her interest.

As Serapis realized how pissed the snake girl got, he slowly realized the hooded guy wasnt one to freak out. but she was. His plan involved splitting this group up, because although he wasnt strong, the hearts in his chest from other pheonixes were. He might be able to take one of the people in front of him, but that doesnt mean tad cant take the rest. he does better fighting groups anyway.
"Hmmm, hey creepy guy. Sorry about that comment" he dusted his pants off. "I dont mean to fight you. I just insult cold, dead, creepy guys, cuz, well, were opposites." I gave him a thumbs up, then slowly let it sink in that i was jokin around.

This did not sit well with the snake. "That don't matter," she spat. "The only one allowed to insult him, is ME. And since I won't, no one is. You can insult moron over there though." She pointed at Namennarg. (Why she dislikes him, I don't know.) Arisu would've hissed at him but, she decided she wouldn't. The reaper had told her to relax. But it was hard. Besides, she didn't like the pyro. Something was itchy about him. "Oh, I would curse you but you're lucky I fell asleep during those classes! I just can't wait until I turn you into stone!"

Oh yes, something about him made her scales stand on end.

She then turned and noticed a... a... a really white bird. And the bird seemed really... unbird like. Shaking her head, Arisu returned back to the pyro, fingering her sai. But after a moment, her fury was extinguished when she realized she was wasting precious energy. She sighed and leaned against Leo. "Okay, I finished. For now," she responded.

Wow, this chick definetly was crazy. I might not even kill any of them yet shes acting like the guns pointed at her head right now!! "Heh nobody is safe when i start trash talkin. Speakin of which, do any of you know where i could get a boat?? The only reason im here is for my boat." That was the absolute most honest thing he has said so far. He was beginning to realize how weird these guys really were. He noticed the snake girl's eyes move towards the unnatural bird, most likely a shapeshifter. just a test. "hey you bird!!!! Cmon down and introduce yourself!!!" I'll know if its normal or not soon enough....

"You couldn't talk trash if you tried," she snapped once more. Arisu ignored the boat comment and returned her gaze to the white bird. There was something... about that bird... almost as if she knew it from somewhere before. Wincing at how he talked to it, she tried to hold out her arm a little ways. She had seen people who worked with birds do that. A lot of them didn't need to say a word.

Her ivory eyes focused in on the jewels glinting in the light.

Yes, she had seen them somewhere before. Like when she had been traveling through some snowy mountains. Arisu's eyes mind slowly put the pieces in place. Oh. Dear. God.

The coldest of races was here. Literally, the coldest of races. An Inarta.

Emphira completely ignored him and looked down to inspect her claws. No ways was she getting involved in this little spat. But as the snake girl's arm moved toward her, she decided to humor the small woman. Opening her large wingspan, she glided down and gently landed. Her talons carefully wrapped around the thin arm, not wanting to cut the snake. She let out an eagle cry, knowing that she felt extremely cold to the other.

Arisu had once gone through her home village, long ago. And she couldn't help but watch the girl work hard to make weapons so her people could hunt for food and protect themselves. The gills under the feathers were closed, not wanting any intrusion into her lungs. Her heart beat was so slow, one could easily miss it. She turned toward the pyro and shook her head.

She dared not shift as she would suddenly be naked. No, her clothes and weapons were just a few feet away. The travelers would pass by them anyway and she was a quick dresser. Letting out another cry she settled herself, knowing that she gave off the impression of being blind. Or not from around here.

Vushlo

Vushlo saw Leo look at him and he nodded as he dismounted, he did not need the distraction of having to calm the beast as he fought whatever what setting them on edge. He drew his dual katanas and whirled them once in a circle. This was going to be a hard fight, but with Leo at his side it would end up badly...for the creature. He gauged the distance from where they was and the approaching creature, it was big and it was dangerous, feeling the power of Death starting to build up in him, he grinned, under the helmet the grin looked horrifying.

He motioned Leo over to him, they will need to travel through the shadowlands, he never needed it, but now that Leo was here it would make the transition easier. Vushlo could feel wandering spirits swarming around and towards the creature, he could feel it's power growing as it absorbed more souls...the Zultho? How did it escape the Ether worlds? Vushlo shook his head to clear the voices suddenly glamoring at him. The Zultho is a creature that existed in Folklore only, a tale created to scare naughty children, but if something is believed long enough it starts to exist in the Ether worlds and if it escapes from there it becomes near unstoppable. This explains why it feels so different, Vushlo waited for Leo's arrival before he told him about the creature and that they needed to travel through the shadowlands to intercept it before it can reach their companions

Well, as it stands Serapis was obviously not welcome here. "ok if noone wants me here, then, I best be on my way," I said as I lifted two objects, a snake skin and a half burnt troll bone, not knowing nor carin if they knew the old pheonix curse. "If these objects represent you, which way do they face?? Do they twist together, lay next to each other, or do they jut away? Leo. I've seen you in the past, and if im correct, you know my father well also. He's the phoenix. That's why I hate tall creepy guys. I will kill him, whether you help or not." This man knows my father better than I do.

Kana had seen enough to know that the fight was winding down but unless she wanted to be discovered now would be the best time to back track silently to her mount, she would wait there until they moved on.. there would be other chances to join them she was sure, but right now if she were to join there would be too many questions and much anamosity twords a new comer especally after having delt with the Pyro

Kana found tho the more that she watched these people the more she liked them and that was dangerous as she was to send back reports... she retreated slowly and returned to her mount.. Riska her white tailed hawk gave a cry of greeting having only just returned to her and landed on a near by branch Kana gave her a treat for her work and waited..

Leo

Leo quietly watched the man, Serapis, and Arisu, apparently his closest companion, as they argued. He almost spoke, but closed his mouth again. No need to speak. He felt the urge to put his arm around Arisu when she leaned into him. His arm even twitched, but he restrained himself. Now was not the time. He might talk to her later, when they were alone. The man's comment about the Phoenix rebounded off a memory in his mind. Phoenix? It couldn't be...

This man looked exactly like the Phoenix. The Phoenix. A man so deadly that he had excaped Leo a couple hundred years back when it was time for him to die. Interesting. He now knew he couldn't trust this man. No spawn of that monster could be trusted. He would deal with him later. He glanced down at Arisu before moving over to Vushlo. He felt the beast moving towards them. It needed to be dealt with. The Zultho...how did it escape? This didn't sit well in the world of the living. He stepped up to Vushlo.

"It needs to be dealt with, and only we can do it." he said simply. He could move himself and Vushlo through to the Shadow Realm. seeing as how Vushlo couldn't willingly move himself there. They would make a good pair, Leo with his speed and skill, Vushlo with his strength and endurance.

The man's arm twitched. He definitely knew my dad. But he acted as if I was a carbon copy!!!! Son of a b'tch. Noone ever understands!!! This inhuman bird either gains everyones trust, or makes me lose it!!! I have to gain his trust. This man seems, trustworthy. If only I was....

Nyme

Seeing all the orcs and trolls dead. Nyme turns to see if anyone is going to attack her. To her relief, everyone is standing around talking or trading insults with each other. "Wow! i don't even think they noticed me." Nyme mutters to herself. Nyme shapeshifts back to elven form and finds a soft patch of grass to sit down on cross legged and starts to meditate. "I need to reunite my body and soul"
