Vushlo

Vushlo nodded at Leo's words, he was ready to take down the monster, he wondered if their companions would think that they were abandoning them, but in time they may come to understand that they had to do what they have to do.

"Let's get this over with, I have a promise to keep to a wandering soul"

Leo

Leo nodded at Vushlo. They would be leavingt heir companions, for now at least. He turned to look at Arisu once before looking back at Vushlo. They would understand, hopefully. He placed a hand on Vushlo's shoulder and made the transition. There was no burst of magic, as Vushlo was already dead. Any bigger through, and he wouldn't have made it through. As it stands, Leo almost lost him on the way through. Traveling like this wasn't in his best interest. The only reason Arisu, a living being, made it here was because Leo could hide her life inside of his. She was the only one small enough.

He spun his scythe in a small arc before moving off in the direction of the Zultho. They needed to quell this threat quickly. He glanced at Vushlo. The battle would hopefully be an easy one with their abilities combined.

As Serapis walked off in a random direction, he felt something tug at him. "what the??...." He looked around but there was nothing. As he walked further, the tug became stronger. It was as if... it was tugging from inside. As the pull got stronger, suddenly he heard a hiss, and the pulling stopped. Serapis vision blurred, and a voice intruded his thoughts. Demoonnnnnn........ leave this plaaacceee...... spawn of evilll........

Vushlo

Vushlo followed Leo, there was another shift and they stood in front of the Zultho, it was not gigantic, but it towered over both Leo and Vushlo. Vushlo pointed out the first joints of the creature's appendages

"It's weak spots, we take that out, it will be easier to kill. Just beware it's breath, it can harm us"

Leo

Leo shook his head as he looked at the beast. He started towards it and ran towards the closest leg. He rolled under the first attack and brought his scythe up in time with his roll, cleaving a gash in the joint. The beast roared and brought a leg down towards Leo, who sidestepped it. It came down right next to him and the shockwave threw him a good ten meters over and into a nearby building. He crashed through the weakened wall and into a support pillar on the fifth floor.

He recovered quickly and ran at the hole in the wall spinning his scythe in a circle and diving out of it. He brought it down on the same joint and severed the leg. Another roar, but the leg didn't smash into the ground again. Leo glanced over at Vushlo.

Vushlo

So it is as powerful as in the stories. Quite interesting. Drawing on the magic inside of himself, Vushlo concentrated on forming a broad bladed spear, the spear appeared in his hand and he pulled back and threw the spear. It flew straight and true, hitting the monster in one of it's leg's joints before disappearing, leaving a hole behind, a green substance burst from the wound and Vushlo took note of this

"Fascinating"

The beast drew back and Vushlo barely had the time to raise his katanas when the damaged leg slam into the swords, staggering him. Leo and him had to work together, drawing the creature's attention

"Leo, when it focuses on me, attack it, when it focuses on you I will attack it"

Vushlo draws on the energy from the Death realm and using his swords as conduits, he releases it, the resulting force would have been enough to kill a whole legion, but the Zultho just shuddered from the impact. Vushlo swiftly moved to the side, avoiding the next attack, cutting at the leg, trying to get the beast to use it's breathing attack as that leaves it vulnerable to attack for a moment.

Leo

Leo glanced over at Vushlo and nodded. He sprinted over and cleaved a wide gash in the beast with his scythe before it turned to him. He rolled away from the impact and swung at another joint, the scythe spinning a graceful arc as the green liquid burst from the joint. He heard the twin screams the beast made as two joints were cut at once.

Teamword had never been Leo's forte, but it would have to do. Neither of them could take the Zultho on their own, after all. He rolled again, but took the edge of the shockwave, pushing him a little further than he had planned. He recovered quickly and heard a scream as another joint was cut. A feral scream from the beast reached Leo deep inside of his soul. He flinched inwardly but severed a leg through the feeling.

Vushlo

The beast's scream felt like it pulled on his undead side, he staggered slightly and then rushed in, katanas whirling. The beast was starting to lose it's balance as it had to distribute it's weight to the only two legs remaining. Vushlo jumped, stuck one katana into the beasts leg and using his momentum he pulled himself higher and slashed at the joint, the only foothold he could find was the katana and he slashed hard and fast at the joint, separating sinew and muscle, digging the blade deeper between the bone. He sensed the beast turning it's attention towards him, it's mouth gaping open, ready to attack. In a split second decision, Vushlo reversed his grip on the sword and threw it like a spear at the soft underside of the throat, losing his footing he fell and crashed hard to the ground. He rolled out from under the beast and got to his feet to draw his long sword. The beast was clawing at the sword embedded in it's throat and Vushlo made himself believe they can win this. Then he felt it, the dead being raised by a call...a call that came from the beast

"Impossible"

But there before his eyes skeletons rose from the ground, he knew that Leo would have felt it as well, but a warning would be welcomed

"Leo, watch for new foes. Somehow the beast can summon souls into the dead"

Vushlo charged into a group of skeletons, his sword cleaving through bones, shattering the enemy, he knew that this would most probably leave Leo alone to deal with the Zultho, but they could not allow these summoned to hinder them as it would mean their end

Leo

Leo felt the call, and the skeletons rising. This beast should not be able to call on the dead. Vushlo called out a warning and moved to engage them. Leo glanced over before turning his attention back to the Zultho. Two legs left. He sprinted at the beast, making a decision to end this. This fight couldn't go on much longer. He rolled away from the beasts breath attack, which it was still able to make regardless of the sword now in it's throat. Interesting. He came up from the roll and severed one of the remaining legs. It toppled to the ground, one leg still flailing.

That leg somehow managed to bend at an impossible angle and smashed into Leo's midsection. The blow sent him back a few steps, but it was not strong enough on it's own. Leo severed the last leg and the Zultho cried out in anger. He walked around to the front of the beast and looked at it. He raised his left arm, hand open towards it, and braced his arm with his other. Careful aim, and when the Zultho roared at him one more time, he moved his muscle in just the right way to trigger the mechanism. A loud sound, like a thunderclap (or a gunshot, really) erupted from device attached to his underarm, hidden beneath his robe. A small, round projectile was fired from it, and it tore through flesh and bone, hitting the nerve center of the Zultho, which was just now open to attack due to the legs being out.

The beast's head hit the ground without another sound, and the skeletal soldiers also collapsed in a heap of bones. Leo reloaded the device, pulled the sword out of the beast's throat, and walked calmly over to Vushlo. He handed him the sword and nodded at him. They had, indeed, made a good team. But it was time for them to get back to their companions. Leo was never one for talking, so he stayed silent. Lady Death would take care of the bodies here, in her own way. He assumed Vushlo would know it was time to go. He held out a hand, palm up, and would transition when Vushlo took it.

Vushlo

Vushlo looked at the corpse of the beast and then at Leo, nodding he took Leo's hand and almost instantly found himself in the shadowrealm, this was a place where he actually felt at home. Maybe he should ask the secret of this traveling, but then again, maybe it just wasn't meant for him to know. Together they walked, when their companions came into view, Vushlo stopped, waiting for Leo to push them back into the mortal realm.

Namennarg turned to the man who had incinerated the troll, and said "No, you shouldn't leave. I know a place where you can get a boat. Right now, though, we're hunting down a Necromancer. If you want, you can join us. There is a substantial reward on his head. If you join us, then you can take part in that reward. Not to mention, the more of us there are, the better our chances of killing him are. Either way, he is getting further away the longer we wait, so I'm going to go get my horse now.". With that, Namennarg turned around and started walking to his horse.

Serapis heard one of the men speaking to him, and considered his proposition. "Sure, I could help, but i wouldn't know much about killing the dead. I don't know how much help i'll be."

"Well, with your fire abilities, it won't be too much of a problem. If you can burn the dead the same way you did that Troll, I think you'll do fine. Now, I wonder when Leo and the Knight are going to come back. I suppose we could move on without them, and let them catch up. So, who's for waiting for them?" Namennarg said, looking at everyone around.

Leo

Leo looked around as he and Vushlo walked back towards their allies. He did enjoy this realm. It was one of the few places he could be alone to think. They arrived at their destination and Leo took note of the shadowy versions of their companions. Curiously, Naden was not with them. Leo placed a hand on Vushlo's shoulder and transitioned again.

They appeared in front of their allies, in the same spot they dissapeared in. Leo nodded at Arisu and moved to stand just apart from her, in the same spot he was standing before leaving. His eyes, hidden in their shadows, flashed a shade of red. His hands clenched, and the red dissapeared.

The darkness should leave him alone for the time being, at least. But it was coming...and he had to be alone when it hit him.

Vushlo

The more immediate threat was terminated and banished, he looked around at his companions, somebody didn't seem to belong here, but he had no idea who or why. He turned and got back onto his horse

"Shall we get along then?"

His cold gaze swept over the group again

"Or did Leo and me miss something while we were gone?"

Nyme

Upon hearing horses being mounted, Nyme rises to her feet and looks at the man that had just mounted his horse. "May i join your group? I think I have proven myself in battle well enough to be of some help." Nyme says. "Plus, I have other talents that you might have use for."
