Hello all...

Was curious what your favourite ice cream flavour was?

Also...does it taste different if eaten in a different way...i.e...different from the spoon, than from someones finger....

Picking just one?! Agh....

The most amazing I've had is a spicy Mexican-chocolate gelato from a local place, though that's not strictly ice cream.

With ice creams, I'm a sucker for pie/cheesecake kinds with chunks of crust in them.

Fresh, homemade anything is usually best though. Usually. My dad went through an experimental phase with his ice cream maker. They were all very creative, but not always...edible.

I wonder how you make gelato, I have one of those cuisinart ice makers I never use. I might need to being it out this summer and try some exotic flavors.

I love cookies and cream, or Cookie dough ones.....yummy!

In a bowl....on a stomach....

Gelatos are churned differently (much more slowly) so they are denser and have less air in them. They are less sweet, and are more for savoring in smaller portions, but otherwise not much different. I'm not sure you could get the consistency with a home machine, but it would be fun to experiment with the flavors :)

No, you said yummy, not favorite.

I like pralines & pecan mixed with a deep fudge chocolate, that is my favorite and I always get that if I go to baskins & robins.

Well that explains why I bought some chocolate gelato at the store and didn't like it. It's less sweet. I'll stick with regular sugar overloaded ice cream :)
