ImpishSeraph's Room

I've always lived in or near mountains as well as on or near a beach. For a while I did live in the plains. I like the beach when there are waves.
I grew up in SoCal so got lots of beach time in. Now I prefer 4 seasons, mountains lakes, streams/rivers, forests...I do a lot of biking, trail running, xc skiing and love the solitude. It becomes almost a Zen.

Tbh I am terrified of sharks and there is a lot of them here. No sharks in the mountains.
I get nervous to go out to far here. I know they can be in the shallow end, but I don't start getting nervous until it's around my shoulders. We have gators in our lakes and sharks far and few between at the beach, but I've been swimming in both places my entire life. I guess I overcame the initial fear, but still have some at times.

I used to live in SoCal when I was younger :D I remember driving up in the mountains when there was ice and we would have to put the car in reverse to stay still at stop signs. There was a tour bus that had just let off a busload of foreigners and they were taking pictures of us as we waited at the stop sign driving in reverse. No fear at that age. Crazy!

How goes it? Just got back from my bike ride. Definitely cool out. Wore my thermal tights for the first time this year

Cool! Where abouts in SoCal! I grew up about 10 miles west of Pasadena (LaCrescenta). Parents had a beach house in Mission Beach so spent many a weekend down there.

I came home and put my cami top on because I was too hot. Even though it said 77, it felt like 80s in the sun. Opposite corners, lol

yeah, if I was running I'd still wear shorts but the wind on the bike makes it a bit nippier. Shrinkage is bad!!! 28 is perfect for skiing. What we call a "Blue Wax" day

I skied once :ROFLMAO: What a day. I had no idea what I was doing. Ended upside down in a ditch and the person who helped me said if it weren't for my legs knees down and the skis sticking up in the air they wouldn't have seen me. Later that day I was sitting on a downed tree taking a break and a gentleman and his kids were slowly going by and said "that's the girl I was talking about" and then asked if I was ok, lol. That same day I somehow got stuck up under a snowmaker with my arms down by my side laying flat and couldn't move because I was a perfect fit and my arms were pinned by the legs of it. I laid there forever until I heard a little kid say "what's that?" and their snowboarding instructor came up and looked down at me and said "how in the hell did you end up like this? You must have slid perfectly in there" 😏 I told him I did it with calculation...He grabbed by shoulders and pulled me out.

It was a crazy day to say the least.

You got yourself into some sticky situations! I've been stuck in a number of tree wells over the years, not fun when no one is around to help, and can't reach a radio or phone.

Oh man, I feel your pain. The first day I downhill skied I crashed so many times. Did ok on most of the intermediate stuff then my friend decided one of the easier Black Diamond runs would be ok. It was damn near a whiteout with about a foot of fresh powder. Skis were much skinnier than the stuff today. Took me about 2.5 hours to get down a 20 min run. I had big balls of ice on my sweater sleeves. We just went straight to the bar after that.

Never would I even try that. I don't remember what run I was on, but it wasn't the beginning one. I think I was pigeon toed the whole time.
