Where is a safe place to go water skiing in FL?
 
I have not been here that long. I love near the Gulf and have never seen anyone ski there, even when the water is like a mirror. When I was in the AF stationed up at Eglin we went skiing up there in some bays.

I used to live near the gulf and we would ride wave runners in the bay but the water was always a bit rough. I've only been skiing in lakes. I was serious about recreational lakes. Find one. IMO they are the best place to ski.

I would agree though I have seen very smooth water on the Gulf and especially the sound. That is always early in the morning. I have also seen the pictures of sharks swimming around here, Dunedin and Honeymoon Island. I know about gators and one time even found myself in the water with baby gators so got out of there real quick!

I've seen several people ski in the gulf on mild waters. You always take the chance with sharks. I haven't seen too many attacks on skiers in the bay but then again, I don't watch a lot of tv.
 
There are some but you are more likely to be killed by a drunk driver. I found a ski school near Orlando. We sold our boat before moving to FL. I am just looking to see if I can still get up! No pun intended!

Why sell a boat Before you move to FL? You didn't think it would be a good recreation to have in a peninsula?

I was tired of boating actually and I am supposed to stay out of the sun and a few other reasons. I am approaching a significant birthday and want to see if I can still ski.
