hypoxia quoth:
i was rather loose with the term. think of it as forced entropy -- too many pressures for the system to handle. the founders hated partisan politics but soon fell into partisanship. now we have a party that won't play the game, won't compromise for the sake of governance. my way or the highway, turdburger. the system falls apart. forced entropy, yeah.
so the entrenchment of both sides is the key to your concern. OK, i can understand that.

none dare call it treason.
i'm reasonably certain that treason as a charge needs to be brought against an individual rather than a whole movement or political party.

hard_rom quoth:
is this classed under how to fuck up a country? bad enough stuff like this spills out of the politics container in to the GB.
note that this is HT cafe, not HT. i'm reasonably certain that you can see the notation that identifies the purpose of this particular subforum, since you can plainly read. that's cuz both HT cafe and GB have existed for a lot longer than the politics subforum, and long time members of both have long been in the habit of discussing politics.

hypoxia quoth:
and here to HT cafe. notice that i suggested (post #2) that this thread should be on the PB. OP sez not enough eyeballs go there, so it's here. sigh...
ain't nobody pointing a gun at your head forcing you to engage the thread, hypoxia. you're a big girl: your posting behavior is entirely under your control and no one else's.

dystracted: i love that pic.

The present election cycle exposes the system; its an up-skirt revelation of what few wanted to see. And the system has nothing to do with the left vs the right; its all about preserving a status quo where WALMART, Bush/Clinton, and FOX/CNN keep the most of us in uncomfortable concentration camps where hard work and merit are irrelevant.

And here to HT Cafe. Notice that I suggested (post #2) that this thread should be on the PB. OP sez not enough eyeballs go there, so it's here. Sigh...

So the OP is just interested in getting attention? I would suggest HT board mod is not policing board strongly enough. Sorry.

Well, a reform of the US electoral system to get rid of the inherited British stupidity could be a first step.
(Just an opinion from mainland Europe, where lots of countries have actually been able to make things work, even with minority governments)

But unfortunately the participants in US politics look more keen on messing up their opponents, than risking that something should actually function.

Hillary looks like the candidate that could actually make a government that would not run the country into the ground.

To quote an American colleague: "I'm afraid that we're witnessing the fall of Rome"
