Due to the other meds I take for my heart condition, I need a sleeping pill to get the rest I need.

I have tried them all, and while some worked better than others, I was always waking up in a fog, and not feeling well rested.

There have been some new sleep aids released, and I tried them,

Ambien worked very well, but I would sleep walk under their influence (a known side effect), and it caused some slightly dangerous situations, for example, I actually cooked in the middle of the night, and left the burner on for hours, and with no recollection the next morning.

I have recemtly started using Lunesta, this aid is fantastic, once taken within 20 minutes I am off to a wonderful and deep sleep. I had found with most sleep aids, you don't dream, and you kind of just check out for 8 hours. Not so with this new drug, I wake up rested, not feeling groggy, and clear headed.

Talk to your Doctor, ask him to let you try it, it has done wonders for me.

Thanks IYM,
I have always been a nightowl, but recently its become worse.

I get tired around midnight - 1am, then, asleep or not I wake up and end up wandering around the house wishing I was asleep.

Its harder when Andante is with me, as I worry I am disturbing him.

Luckily he is a night owl too, so that helps.

I have always tried to avoid sleeping tablets, when I was on anti-depressants they made me feel zombie like and it sort of put me off.

I see the doc in a couple of weeks, if I am still like this will talk to him about it

Edit to add: off to eat and then try to sleep.
Failing that will tie myself to the bed to make me stay there. It will at least stop me playing on the net and pacing up and down in the house

This thread is perfect for me!!

I have suffered from accute insomnia for 6 years, though my mum would tell ya I've had it since I was born! lol.

I am on medication for it but because of my age (22) and the fact that it is on-going I can't have anything too strong incase I get addicted to them. So I have mild tablets which allow me to get a few hours sleep each night if i'm lucky, some nghts they just don't work at all.

Insomnia is a real bitch, sometimes I just lay in bed dertermined to get some sleep, I think if I just lay here and keep my eyes closed I should fall asleep, as you all probably know that isn't the case!

Anyway it's great to have a thread for 'us' insomniacs, brilliant idea and I'm sure I'll be a frequent visitor!

Look forward to chatting to ya all soon

Take care
Sleep well

I prefer the sleep of the sated.

i just plain like sleep of most kinds. However, the brother just arrived home now. He's still too young to appreciate the beauty of a good sleep.

O.k. so I have a silly question for those perverts still awake. Anyone ever get a sore throat after a harsher than usualy blowjob?

Good to know. I loved it while it was happening but damn...now I'm thinking I should have made him pick up some ice cream or something cause my throat is not happy. Ahhhhh well the price of a little pleasure sometimes...

Popsicles are good - and you can get the ones made of juice to limit the calories.

Hmmmmm, not a bad idea, though I don't worry about the calories too much as ice cream isn't somthing I indulge in often.

i must give all the credit to my doc. She needs to be creative with me because i can't stand soup, so when i'm on a liquid diet it's challenging.
Anyway, to my understanding popsicles are better because you suck them constantly, whereas with ice cream you eat spoonfuls, but if you're not too sore i should imagine both would work. Of course, you could also get both...and there are ice cream popsicle things.

Hehehehe...I'll remember that and make sure he knows that next time he needs to bring something to take care of my throat. After a few hours sleep it's actually starting to feel a bit better but talking all day at work isn't going to be fun.

If you get juice popsicles be careful about what kind of juice. Certain juices will sting, like orange juice, pineapple juice . . . . you get the idea. Go for something soothing.

The ones that are pressed fruit, like raspberry, would be good.

Good point Graceanne! I'm blonde enough I'd have forgotten that and made the problem worse instead of better lol. He'd have gotten a kick out of it I'm sure.

I have sores in my mouth a lot. It's cause of the crohns. I've learned which juices to avoid. Glad I could share my 'wisdom'.

Somebody wake up and play with me!

Wonders if they make paintball guns with jello bullets. I bet AA would know. Have to give him a call.

Wonders if I would be sadistic enough to shoot a poor girl laying in a hospital bed with broken bones.

What was I thinking  ....*listens to the co2 cartridge seat and pressurize the gun and smiles.

FFWwooomp!....THWACK!

oh no, don't wake AA in the middle of the night.. And I'm not in the hospital anymore, I'm home in my little purple wheelie chair practicing toe squishin' manuevers!

Scratches head and wonders who I just shot with a jello paintball gun?

Notices the heart monitor starting to go flat lined.....steps quietly out the door and makes for the exit...damn that poor old woman...

I guess its true what they say. The last thing you ever want to hear is a sadist say opps!
