I once had a young lady on the phone with her pastor during that particular act...to this day I am shocked we pulled it off.

So, that's the long-hand way of me saying "I agree".

Time to get flamed... I, gasp, over-rationalized.

I quite enjoyed it, although I was rather distracted by the sudden question that popped to mind: "What would Joe sound like while 'over-rationalizing' an act of utter sexual gratification?" That was a very interesting speculation, but I managed to come back to the point.

I'm curious about the idea of metaphysical revelation. What would that entail? I haven't encountered the concept before.

Straight?

When they say straight do you mean sexually or going straight to sex,or going straight for your pleasure?Alot of poeple are not going to state that they are (bi)if they trully just enjoy sex.Pleasure comes in alot of forms, fashion and faces.and all are not provided by the same gender that society has picked for us.
Sexual diversity is on the rise lowing that seperation of the groups.now days you can't tell who goes where.and if all the deseases that are common now were not here, then more people might would be,open and damn proud of it.(as it was in the early 70's)Society has people putting labels that don't belong, are wrong and are unnessesary.

What... singing "Street where you live" or talking about Norway?

From what I've read, we're all born bisexual, but as we grow up, we become gay, straight, or remain bi.

Strictly speaking, if the universe--specifically NOT God in any way--existed such that revelation of norms were made available on some schedule or contingency... it could be as simple as an idea popping into your head with "Morality" and its referrents, then that would be metaphysical revelation. Its an obscure area of study in Ethics and Metaphysics. Its relagated to the pile of things that are technically possible (because they're not essentially impossible), but don't have very solid experiential confirmations or good conceptual clarity.

Divine Revelation makes more sense to people, and has more substance, because we can generate a starting point that doesn't need an odd mechanic to motivate it (God-talk is usually perfectly comfortable with self-motivation).

Not necessarily true. Most notably because we don't know what the sexual preferences of babies are. We lack the tools to measure these things. It is a vaguery--which means positive and assertive absolutes (stating the case that something is or isn't) can't really be made about it.

Actually - most of us just want to know the gross national product of Norway.
What's so gross about it?
