Is Romance Dead and Buried?

If romance is dead, let's revive the corpse- if Willow could revive Buffy the Vampire Slayer, surely we have enough magic among us!

I certainly hope that romance isn't dead.

I'm looking for my knight in shining armour... and when I find him, I want to love him and to spoil him and to romance him.

And I certainly hope he feels the same way towards me.

oh yes.. I also want want to fuck him senseless...

Sorry, love, the armour is a tad rusty- got any WD-40? Cause my romantic soul is trapped within, needed more than the merest kiss from a damsel in distress ....

( nothing like role reversing the typical fairy tale sexism)

Squeak Squeak

Its like a dream as you oil each seam, my fair maiden , once lost, now found, who soon I'll be able to move my arms around....

a fair damsel for a brave knight, a kiss , as our lips they meet,
perchance, that rush , that spark, they mean our souls do meet,
a chance, our hearts start the ancient dance,
fair damsel, and her Sir with a lot -o-lance.

( love the picture)

if I be Lancolot,
be thee Guinevere?
need I worry if King Arthur is near?

but if he's crusading,
me you're persuading,
to sail away on the goosedown bedding
for all the joys as if 'twere a wedding
or more the joy that follows that night,
for the damsel and her knight

but alas, real life doest blow
its carion call
so this brave knight must go,
so 'tis all...

until we pass this way again....

oh, fair sharon, Guinevere unmasked,
how this brave knight
wishes he could do as asked,
for your sweet song I hear,
but alas am not near.....

so we must but dream...till another day or time or place

when my heart and hearth your love might grace

Ahhh yes, to sit with you by a fireplace,
and watch the flames as we embrace.

Loving, teasing, kissing, nipping,
A glass of wine we'd be sipping.

Reaching, touching, licking, feeling,
your hands upon me send me reeling.

Then finally we snuggle to sleep,
thankful for the memories that are ours to keep.

But alas tis a fantasy,
and you, my love I will never see. :rose:

Fair maiden ladybird/sharon/guinevere
so sad 'tis that we are not near
but in our hearts, in our souls,
in our play, we assume new roles
and the game begins anew, not chained to the past
always fresh, moving forward to make it last
our hearts, our loins know our passion
depends not on passing fashion

your fireplace might warm a brave knight enough
to dry out the rust
continue these distant relations, this romance,
oh, fair heart, we must

lets not let this fine thread die
that would make me cry
for romance is not dead
I'm bumping this ahead

I certainly am on the not dead side of the argument. Although I do think my definition of what is and isn't romantic has changed since I was younger. When I was younger I wanted hearts and flowers and you are my everything, I will never want or desire or look at another person. Now I want a comfortable person, someone who I can speak my mind with, exchange ideas and opinions with and still laugh with before, during and after sex. Someone who I can please and who pleases me, who will take the time to be both a friend and a lover, who will support me emotionally and be there in good and hard times, as I would for them. Not necessarily traditional romance, but that what I would like to find... Someday, somewhere.
