Joker 2.0

Jeremy had been up early, still keyed up from the events of the night before. He hoped Batgirl kept those flowers he gave her. The more she breathed in that delicate perfume the more it would act upon her. Gradually even the sound of his voice would begin to turn her on and she would begin to seek him out without really knowing why, only knowing that she needed him to satisfy her.

Still that would take at least a week to occur, maybe more if she was a busy woman. He was pretty sure she was a rich one. After all a poor one could not afford all those fancy gadgets of hers, or of the originals. He was sure it was not just some hired mercenary. No, like him she felt like a legacy hero. Someone who was carrying on a family members or loved ones legacy. For that to happen they needed the money, time and skills to be able to do so, and that meant wealth.

He had inputted the number she had given him into his computer last night, but as expected it had come up empty. About ten layers of encryption had slammed down on him as soon as he had tried to run the first trace. He had laughed and then gotten serious. Before going to bed he had set up and run 5 different program's on it. Now he walked in and checked on their progress.

3 had failed after only managing to identify that the number was from America. Shaking his head he looked at the next one and smiled as it showed him Gotham City. The last got him to the stately area of Gotham, narrowing his search to some very old families and a fewer 'Newer' ones as well. Newer was a relative term however. It was for anyone that had been rich for less than 200 years. Still it was a start and confirmed his suspicions about Batsy.

Smiling he moved into his workshop to continue working on his latest project. It would be ready soon and he would be able to make that call. Of course first he had that luncheon date with Miss Wayne. Smiling he thought about her and licked his lips. Hmm now there was a possibility. Would Jeremy be able to have Wayne and Joker the Bat. Chuckling at the possibility he put on his welding mask and began to delicately weld the supports together as erotic thoughts drifted through his mind.

The rest of the day was spent looking through all the pros and cons that her expert had noted in regards to all of Jeremy's inventions. She had a luncheon with him day after tomorrow so she had to make sure all her t's were crossed and i's were dotted. She also made a few notes of her own on some of the other stuff that experts hadn't noticed.

It took about half of her day and this was without taking a lunch break or any calls.

Eventually she did take a break, telling Megan to confirm the luncheon in the next two days. By the time 5 pm hit she was on her way home deciding to not work late tonight. She also debated on letting batsy out to play. Honestly, it was like she was two different people.

As she walked into her mansion, she stared at the flowers, almost entranced by them. Who sent her flowers? They looked fresh. She leaned down and took a small whiff, her eye twitched and she thought she needed to sneeze but no such luck.

Making her way into den, she flipped on the news as she flipped through her phone. Headlines about the bat gone crazy flashed on the news.

She looked up from her phone paling at the sight of herself acting like a dumbass.

"Hero or Joker 2.0's little distraction." The female newscaster said before it went commercial.

"What the fuck happened last night?" Allison asked herself, groaning as she laid her head on the black leather couch.

He had spent most of his day in his workshop working on his project. it required a lot of preparation and was going to cause quite a stir. It was also going to cause enough of a distraction that he and Batsy might get some alone time away from all those pesky camera's and reporters so he could see if his gas was working.

He had received a call to confirm that his lunch date with Miss Wayne was still on and that she was looking forward to discussing his projects with him. He had smiled after that call. perhaps he should prepare some flowers for her as well? No. Jeremy had to be strictly business and no trace between him and the Joker could ever be linked.

Chuckling he shook his head. Better watch himself. He was starting to think of himself as two different people. That way madness lay. Yet it was true. He had his everyday personae of Jeremy and then his money making personae of the Joker, and that was what he considered him as, a money maker. He was not after the Batgirl although he knew he had to fight her, and he was not their to terrify the people although he did. He was their simply to rob people blind although they did not know it.

For the next two days he worked on his project until it was almost complete. A few finishing touches and it would be ready, however he needed to meet Allison soon. He showered, changed into a casual suit and drove himself into the city, handing the keys to his 1968 Shelby cobra to the Valet and strolling inside. He inquired if Allison was already there and waited.

Allison made her way into the restaurant combing her fingers lightly through her hair. For the last two days she'd stayed on the down low since Batgirl had created such a negative response from last time. Thankfully, the Joker hadn't been out yet.

Now, here she was meeting with Jeremy Parks? Parker? For the life of her she couldn't remember his last name which typically made her feel bad. Typically. The waitress led her to the table where Jeremy sat looking at his menu, his files on hand.

She wore a Lacey black dress which accentuated her curves and her generous cleavage did little to hide anything. It was a change she barely noticed. Her clothes had gone from super conservative to a bit more provocative which was a huge contrast to her super focused personality when it came to business.

"Hello Jeremy."She said after ordering them a bottle of wine. "So let's get to business shall we?"

She began to pull out the papers each of the projects had a note of all the changes that needed to happen.

Jeremy looked up as Allison Wayne sat down across from him and his eyes widened. The last time he had seen her she had been dressed in very conservative business attire. Now here she was in a low cut top that clung to her body and showed her assets off to their best advantage.

He smiled in appreciation and half stood up and bowed slightly before sitting back down. "Well hello to you to Miss Wayne, Oh please excuse me, Allison," he grinned. "I must say you are looking especially beautiful today."

Reaching down he pulled the small satchel briefcase he had brought with him up in front of him and then smiled at her. "I hope you are ready to move on my projects. I will understand if you don't want to invest in all of them, but if you would like to go over them all I am happy to discuss them."

He then looked her up and down and smiled a little less professionally, "After that it would be my pleasure to shout you to lunch, just for the pleasure of your company."

Allison sat down and began pulling out the folders to a few of Jeremy's projects. "We really like this one and this one..." she pushed the papers with the given suggestions on how to make them more profitable. "I find the ummm plastic housing for the homeless rather interesting especially considering what happened a few nights ago."

Quite honestly, it was the only way to makeup for all those deaths. She still couldn't recall what had happened that night but the guilt still overwhelmed her at night. "We just have to work on the small bugs."

She pushed that piece of paper towards him with all the markings of what needed to be done." And the solar panel is handy. All that needs to be done is to find a higher lithium battery. As for the other inventions, we thought it'd be best to take things slow and see how popular these first two projects would be."

Once he'd gone over everything she pulled out a contract stating that he gave Wayne Industries control over the projects and ability to change whatever needed changing. "Once you sign this then everything is settled."

She was going to leave directly after especially considering it had only been a few weeks since she'd lost her fiancé to the Joker. If the waitress hadn't shown up, it would have been easy.

"Are you ready to order?" She asked.

Allison blinked as Jeremy seemed to be taking forever to read the document or maybe it just felt that way. She could've easily turned the waitress away but didn't want to waste the lady's time like that.

"I'll have a club sandwich, I guess."

"Would you like fries, as well?"

Allison nodded,"And a diet Dr.Pepper."

Jeremy was impressed. He had developed those products and left the flaws in to test just how good Wayne Industries techs really were. Looking over there recommendations he was very surprised. Not only had they found his flaws, but they had actually improved his original designs a little, (Mostly for mass marketing purposes), and found one or two more.

Reading over her contract he was also pleasantly surprised. He was to sign over control of the two projects allowing Wayne industries to do what needed to be done to get them to market, but he was guaranteed a sizeable chunk of the nett profits.

He heard the waitress approach and then heard Allison order and he smiled. He quickly signed the contracts in all the correct places and then looked at the waitress. "I'll have a burger, medium rare, with all the trimmings and fries plus a regular coke."

He handed the contracts to Allison and smiled. As he did so he decided to take a risk. She was acting a little strange and compared to how she had been dressed she was certainly more daring. Secretly cracking a small vial in his sleeve he allowed a small bit of his special gas to escape and leak into the air. It would only affect the one who was already under the influence so he would watch Allison very closely.

"Well I am glad you decided to stay for lunch. I hope I will not bore you to much, although I have been told I do have a wicked sense of humor," he said smiling.

Allison took the contracts and slid them in her briefcase like bag as a sudden aroma hit her nose. She wrinkled her nose trying to keep from sneezing. She glanced around wondering if anyone else could get a whiff of what she was smelling but no one seemed alarmed by it. Maybe she was imagining things, it had been super stressful at work lately and not knowing when the joker would pop up was not helping her stress levels.

She finally realized that Jeremy was talking to her and had to focus on his lips--words, not lips. Allison had always been a firm believer in not mixing business with pleasure even before she'd taken over her dad's company. For instance, she'd have never dated her now ex fiancé if she'd been working at Wayne Industries.

Because look how that turned out.

"Well, everyone has to eat, right?" She said with a smile,"Just don't go falling for me. I tend to keep business as just that, business." The waitress brought them their drinks and she took a small sip. Her body felt warm and had she been wearing more than a dress, she would've pulled it off but she had enough sense to not start undressing in front of everyone in public.

"So how long have you been in Gotham, Mistah..." she cleared her throat,"mister parks?" The fuck was wrong with her? "I don't think I've heard of that lineage here in Gotham." She finished, trying to make polite conversation.

Jeremy caught the little slip of the tongue from Allison and the way the gas seemed to affect her and smiled. So he had indeed guessed right, the CEO and wealthy socialite Ms Wayne was indeed the new Batwoman. It made sense really. Who else in Gotham had access to the money, technology and was situated in a remote and secure location that would keep their nocturnal activities hidden away from prying eyes. Still he had other suspects, but he was glad it was her.

Smiling warmly at her he casually sat back and took a sip of his water. "Oh I have been here several months now Allison and do feel free to call me Jeremy. My family doesn't come from around here but we have often made Gotham our home, staying for extended periods of time. Why my old Uncle used to love this place. He used to tell me such stories of the nightlife here," he smiled.

Leaning forward he looked into her eyes and whispered as if sharing a secret. "He also told me about the Batman. Ahh I would have loved to meet such a person, but I guess those times are gone."

Leaning back he looked at her again over the rim of his glass as he took another sip. "As for not mixing business with pleasure Allison, now that I have signed those contracts I had assumed our business was done. Doesn't that mean we are free to pursue anything else that might crop up between us?" he asked with a seductive smile.

Allison listened intently as Jeremy spoke and insisted she called him by his first not last name. He went on about his uncle told him about the night life in Gotham. She frowned because it had been awhile since she'd experienced any sort of night life aside from being Batgirl.

Which hadn't been all that great...

Ironically, he then made a mention of her grandfather, well--Batman. She shrugged her shoulders innocently," I wouldn't say it's over completely, there's still that new vigilante, Batgirl." She was trying to broach the subject as nonchalantly as possible.

She took a sip from her drink mentally telling herself to shut up. She didn't need anyone to know her secret identity and who knows what she'd say. He also took a sip of his coke then started mentioning how their business was basically over now and they could do anything they wanted now.

Allison squirmed in her seat as goosebumps began to wash over her flesh. She shook her head and forced those thoughts out of her head. "As flattered as I am, I--my fiancé was recently...." zombified? "killed. I'm not sure if I'm ready to move on."

Jeremy smiled at her mention of Batgirl. "Why yes there is her, but it seems she is just starting up and I am not sure she is going so well," he sighed. "Now don't get me wrong," he said holding his hands up, "I am not saying she is doing anything wrong, in fact I actually quite like her. It is definitely a thankless job she is trying to do. If she does it well everyone just expects that, If she does something even the slightest bit wrong they will criticize her for it."

He looked at her and smiled again, 'Still she has come up against a tough opponent on her first outing. I mean the Joker. He was Batman's toughest foe, and to try to capture him first up, it must be very daunting."

He then took another sip of his drink and listened to her reply to his half proposal. Nodding his head he tipped his glass at her. "I quite understand my dear. I had heard something had happened in Wayne towers, but I had no idea it was something like that. If you need someone to talk to, or even if you just want to hit the town and blow off some steam then i am here. I have been told I am rather good company," he smiled.

He was about to say more but the waitress returned with their food. "Well at least we can enjoy some food together and forget our troubles for awhile. I tell you what, let's agree not to talk about business, anything sad or family. Only happy things while we eat, what do you say?"

Allison's eyes slightly narrowed at his words about Bat Girl. She almost felt like Cat from National City who was always defending Super Girl. The only plot twist was that Allison was defending herself. She knew she had to back off though or otherwise it would seem extremely suspicious. How had her grandfather done this; managed a business, acted as a vigilante, and not defend the naysayers of Batsy...Batman.

"Well, I think Batsy...Batgirl is doing the best she can do given her circumstances but she could do better."

Allison smiled at his understanding comments. She was a little shocked because most guys were pushy but not Jeremy, apparently. The waitress came back with their food which was good because she was starving. She took a bite of her club sandwich as he spoke and nodded her head. After chewing and swallowing, she said "Sounds like a plan."

Though she couldn't think of any happy things going on in her life right now. Geez, why was life so depressing? "Okay, happy things...you go first. I mean this may be a hard subject to broach, death seems to surround my family like the plague, so you go first. Discuss something happy with me."

Again Jeremy caught her slip of the tongue. My, My, My. She was beginning to sound like him now. This was an interesting side effect and one he had not counted on. Still it would be fun to see how far he could push it. However now was not the time to do that.

"Happy things. Well let's start with the obvious. You have just invested in some of my ventures and I am here eating lunch with you." He looked around and then leaned closer. 'Do you know how many men are wishing they were me right now. I mean take a look around. I am getting death stares and men are damn near drooling over you," he chuckled.

He gave her a few seconds to look then continued on. "I have recently bought a new place and gotten some wonderful horses." His eyes lit up and he looked at her. "You don't happen to ride do you Allison? Only I can only exercise one a day and as lovely as it is, it is so boring to ride alone."

Allison smiled at Jeremy's first statement about investing in his products. "That's definitely a good thing isn't it." At the mention of men giving him death glares for being there with her she looked around noticed some of the men were glaring at him until they noticed she was looking at them then quickly looked away. She laughed a genuine laugh.

"You're right. They do look to be a tad bit jealous." She murmured before dipping a fry into the ketchup and taking a bite. She listened as he changed the topic to his new house and horses to go along with the house. She was quiet for a minute as he was slowly implying that they ride together.

'I'd love to ride more than just your horses...' a sudden dirty thought entered her mind causing her to nearly choke on the fry she was eating.

She shook the thought away quickly and cleared her throat. "I've ridden once when I was a little girl, it was a pony at a fair and it probably doesn't even count as truly riding anything. The pony was tied to one of those carousel turner things...." it was her way of brushing off his invitation trying to hold firm to the not mixing business with pleasure but then suddenly as if she had no control of herself she blurted,"but...maybe you can teach me. I'm a quick learner" it came out huskies than intended.

As she choked on her fry, Jeremy acted concerned and pushed her drink closer to her, although he did wonder what she had been thinking of. However with a small smile he found himself thinking of a few things that might have caused her to have that kind of reaction, especially considering her next words.

He was a little disappointed when she seemed to be turning down his invitation, and he was about to take it with good grace when she suddenly changed her mind. Smiling widely he reached over and gently took her free hand, stroking it gently on the back with his thumb.

"Why I would be delighted to teach you Allison. In fact I have the perfect horse for you to ride. She is as gentle as a lamb and not too big. We can just rid in my training yard until you get the hang of it and then take a brief tour of the inner fields."

Then getting a cheeky smile on his face he continued. "Of course once you are used to having something so powerful between your legs, perhaps you would like to ride it a lot harder," he chuckled.

She smiled thankful that he hadn't caught her husky tone since that wasn't really what she was going for but found herself blushing at his last thoughts. Suddenly riding horses was the last thing Allison was thinking about which caused her to blush a deep shade of red. She laughed nervously but couldn't grasp the strength to pull her hand away from his.

Sure, her fiancé had not that long ago been killed...at least she thought he was dead or at least not himself, but even alive he was boring and dry. At the time she met Matt, that was what she needed or thought she needed boring or dry. Someone to keep her sane in this insane world.

However, Allison could've easily seen herself falling for someone like Jeremy. Her only issue was the joker, would Jeremy be her damsel in distress, someone the Joker could use against her if he ever found out her identity?

"Are we still talking about horses or did the subject get cleverly changed?" Allison asked with a small smile.

Jeremy smiled back at her with the same intensity. "Why Allison, whatever do you mean," he teased. "However I do have a little sixth sense about women and mine is telling me that perhaps you have not gone for a Ride in a while." Again he chuckled but this time a little bit of the Jokers humor seeped through and he quickly stopped. He had to watch that, she was effecting him as much as he was her.

"It is truly a pity when a lovely woman such as yourself does not get enough, shall we say fun and exercise my dear." Smiling he continued to stroke her hand. "Of course I would like to offer my services to put a smile back on your face. Purely in the interest of those around you of course," he said straightening up and letting go of her hand slowly. "After all, why deny them the beauty of your smile."

For a moment, a chill brushed down Allisons spine almost like alarm bells were going off in her head. Jeremy was making it no secret that he was into her but the way he looked at her now...In her mind she saw the joker the first time they'd met...well as her being herself, at the Wayne Industries ball. But the look Jeremy gave her seemed to quickly disappear and his tease almost sounded like...

But, that would be ironic wouldn't it? To be on a business lunch turned almost date with her rival as their alter egos. It was almost laughable. What was this, a comic book?!

She bit her lip smiling at his next words, quickly forgetting about how similar he came to sounding like the Joker and feeling a sudden sense of loss when he let go of her hand. "I don't know, I might have to take you up on that offer. You seem to be doing a good job of it now."

This time his smile was truly genuine. It had been a long time since he had been with a woman who had truly fascinated him. Oh there had been women, but he could count on one hand the ones he had felt any sort of connection to and never had he felt as much as he did with Allison.

Still there was no need to rush into these things, or rather there was no need to appear to eager and scare her off.

"Well then Allison. Any time you need my services you just let me know, I am sure I will be able to put a smile on your face. As for coming out to my house," Jeremy reached into his pocket and pulled out one of his business cards. Crossing out the business number he wrote his private cell phone number on it. "Call this anytime and we can arrange a time for that ride."

He ate some of his meal and then chuckled at a thought and looked at her. "I tell you what Allison. I would invite you to come today but perhaps it is too soon, after all you have just met me. How about I convince you to blow off the rest of the day and we go somewhere really fun, say the boardwalk down near the beach. We can play sideshow games, go on the merry go round and get sick eating fairy floss and pop corn, what do you say?"

Allison returned to eating her sandwich opening it up and scrunching her nose up at the pickles they'd put in it. She pulled them out and took a bite as Jeremy suggested that she blow off the rest of her day and go to the boardwalk with him. She'd almost forgotten about work and pulled out her phone to check the time.

She'd gone about an hour over the time she'd told her secretary Megan she'd be gone having assumed she'd only be there for 15 minutes but they'd bordered on an hour and she'd gotten 9 different texts asking if she was alright.

"Uhm..." Allison hesitated as she ran through her schedule. Honestly, Jeremy had been the only big meeting today and it wasn't like she got a break very often. Besides, it was like there was something pulling her to him, some imaginary string. She quickly text Megan that she got a bout of food poisoning and went home. "Sure, why not."

Jeremy smiled and they ate the rest of their meals, chatting about small things. When the waitress came back he insisted on paying and then he led her out of the place placing his hand casually on the middle of her back.

Once they were outside he handed his ticket to the Valet and waited for her reaction when his car was brought around.

"I hope you don't mind it. Sometimes I just like to get out and drive a little fast you know, let myself feel free."

He helped her into the passenger seat and then set off for the pier. As he drove he kept looking over at her. "So what would you like to do first Allison? Sideshows, Roller coaster, Carousel or how about the Tunnel of love," he teased.

Allison was not usually the type of girl to be impressed by cars. It was probably due to her background. After all, she had the batmobile, which was really just a pimped out BMW. However when the valet pulled up with his car, she was colored impressed for sure. It had a nice blue glossy finish to it that just said HEY HERE I AM!

Plus when she was teenager she'd always wanted a convertible of any sort but her dad always exclaimed how dangerous they were and if she'd ever gotten into accident, blah blah blah. "Wow..." she murmured as he helped her into the car and played humble. There was no way a man with this kind of car was humble. "If this were a date..." she teased,"you would have definitely just earned brownie points."

Then as they continued to drive on towards the boardwalk he asked her what she'd like to start with first. "Not enough brownie points for the tunnel of love." She bit her lip and looked thoughtful," I've never been to a side show before."

At his look, Allison shrugged her shoulders. "My family has always had this thing against clowns." She bit the inside of her cheek to keep from laughing at her own inner joke then decided to elaborate. "My grandfather when he was a kid was actually attacked by well, he wasn't the joker, but more of the...inspiration for the joker, I guess? So it's kind of been a tradition to stay away from anything with clowns involved." She had a small smile,"So like during my birthday parties, instead of hiring clowns, my dad would hire really bad imitations of movie princesses." She gave a little laugh then cleared her throat,"so yes, A Sideshow. Time to rid the Wayne family of their fear of clowns."

It took all of Jeremy's considerable acting skills to not laugh outrageously when Allison mentioned the Wayne's family aversion to clowns. Of course he knew the reason for it and although he had been told the story by his Father many times, he had since found another story in some old journals his Uncle had left that contradicted it. He would have loved to have gotten the actual truth from the Clown's mouth as it were, but alas that was never to happen.

"Well we can't have you missing out on all that fun now can we," he smiled. "So the side show it is. We can try our luck at some games, get our fortunes told, see some sights and yes maybe run into a clown or two," he chuckled.

It did not take them long to make the drive and he parked the car close to the pier. It was a weekday and just after lunch so it was quite easy to get a park. He was also not worried about it getting stolen. It had several security features that were not exactly legal. (The 10000 volt anti theft device under the seat was just one of them).

Again opening Allison's door, he took her by the arm and escorted her to the boardwalk funfair.

Allison took the hand that Jeremy offered once he'd opened the door and led her to get the tickets. Her hands kind of tingles when he touched her which was odd. She assumed they were goosebumps that were starting to form. Maybe it was because she hadn't really been out with a guy since Matt.

She looked around in amazement having never been to a sideshow. All the costumes figures were amazing. For a moment she could actually pretend to be normal. Right now, she was just Allison Wayne with the normal Jeremy Parks.

"So where to first? You seem like the expert side show man. You have complete control so...lead the way." Allison said as she tucked her hair behind her ear.

Jeremy smiled at her comment of being in total control. That brought up all sorts of thoughts in his mind but he could indulge in those later if things worked out. Still perhaps it would be best not to indulge to much with Allison. He should save something for Bats.

"Let's start off slow and work our way up shall we. No use jumping in at the deep end."

He led her into a brightly colored tent and they watched a quick magic show. The guy was good, and he didn't perform anything too weird. They left that and took in the sights of several of the traveling so called 'New Freaks'. People that put small iron rods in various parts of their bodies, sword swallower's that also swallowed glowing lights, a strong woman that lifted weights with her nipples, A juggler that used knives, chainsaws and fire in his act and a fire swallower.

After that he took her around the various booths set up to test a person's skill and they had fun winning stuffed toys. He was not surprised at her skill and he complemented her on it.

"It is good to see a woman as skilled as you in a position of authority. Just goes to show that not all CEO's are just rich, privileged individuals. I am now even more confident I came to the right company, and the right person."

After buying some food, he gestured to one of the most lavishly decorated tents on the boardwalk.

"Well are you ready to face the Wayne family's secret," he chuckled. "That's the clown tent and the next show's about to start." He gently grabbed her hand and looked down into her eyes. "Don't worry I will be right next to you at all times."
