Just Outside My Window

Well, just as long as you're alright. Don't be such a stranger!

I'm primarily a lurker, but I can generally glean what I need to know.

But not always...

*smiling* Now that things have settled a bit, I plan on being here more. :cathappy:

I don't post here very often, but I've been to DeepCreek. I grew up in Hagerstown and have been there water skiing and close by on snow mobile. It brings back memories from years ago.
I hope you enjoyed it as much as I did when much younger. :D
:rose:

Oh we did enjoy but were really too busy with my sister's wedding to get to do much up there. Was funny...we stopped in Hagerstown for lunch on the way back and it snowed!

Unlike down here, we went to school unless there was ice. There could be six inches of snow and the buses still ran.

No sure where in Ga you are. I used to live in Dalton. LOL We got ice when I was there and everything closed down, unlike when I lived in Phila.....we always had school, no matter what the weather was. I remember driving to work one day in a whiteout...Now that was an adventure!

I live in Gainesville on Lake Lanier. I go through Dalton twice a month when I visit my daughter in Chattanooga. You were an hour and a half away.

I reread what you said and changed to were. The Blue Ridge is on of the most beautful places I've been. Also the Shennedoah Valley.

Oh I agree...I have several pics from the Blueridge Parkway posted earlier in the thread....I have yet to find another place in the country which can compare.

Your idea of a book in a cabin setting in the mtns with a glass of wine is one of my deepest wishes. You didn't mention someone to do it with, so I guess is a solitary endeavor on your part.

I thought it might have to be alone, but now things have changed :D

I think if I had my druthers and the mint was a little fuller I'd want to be in a cabin up the slope from Front Royal. The people there are some of the friendliest I think I've met in my travels on the eastern seaboard.

Funny you mention that.....We are planning on renting a motorcycle...The plan is to drive up to Front Royal (the beginning of the parkway) and making our way south, taking pics all the way, of course. :cathappy:
