Justice League of America

Batman got to his feet and walked towards the teleporter. Just before he reached it he turned to the others, "I have to say that this is one of the more boring meetings that I have been to and I am just a part timer. Now, if you will excuse me I will be heading back to Gotham as it looks as if I am not needed here right now."

Shadowess

I raised an eyebrow. Sitting watching everyone, I began to wonder about joining. First off, if this was how most meeting went, they must win by sheer dumb luck.

God...and I couldn't defeat these people...? My super villian ego was stinging. Hell, I could better on my own then a lot of this group...Well batman seemed ok, but he WAS just human. With an iritated sigh I called my shadows, they boiled around me a moment then launched out to snap everone up. They were stronger then the Big S, so I wasn't worried about that.

"I'M leaving..." I growled softly.

"If this is what the JLA has to offer, I'd do better on my own...." The shadows plunked them all back down, leaving the knowledge, I COULD have killed them. I stood and started to walk out.

Tommy Monaghan

Tommy looked increduously at the Leaguers who had insisted he stay, "Are you nuts? I'm an assassin, for crying out loud! I've seen Wonder Woman's tits now, and gotten an excellent bonus from Huntress... now, I am SO outta here!" With that, he followed Batman to the teleporter, and teleported back to Earth.

/OOC: Thanks for your efforts in accepting Tommy, but he really was just a throwaway character, to give you all someone to NOT accept, since the other characters, being PCs were to automatically be accepted.

I think we've gotten a bit off-track in the beginning of this thread, and I am now devoting more time to getting it back online. I plan, initially, to take us to a hotspot, to test out the new Leaguers. 'Coincidentally', that will bring us close enough to Spiderman to effect a rescue. Immediately after that, I expect the threat of the Injustice Gang to ramp up. I have a plan for after that, in which we will need no villains... ;)

Martian Manhunter

"Well, Diana, everyone, I move that we take the proposed new League members to New York City, to see how they work. I've just received a telepathic message from Aquaman, who was taking monitor duty. There seems to be a small group of villains who have taken over an oil tanker, and are threatening to blow it up in New York City harbor. Specifically, the Masters of Disaster are Coldsnap, Shakedown, Heatstroke, New Wave. Each of them has strong elemental powers over cold, earth, fire, and water, respectively."

Every time it happened it surprised him. Spiderman would wake up, and see nothing, absolutely nothing. His eyes would open, but the change was no different. A thought of being blind for one moment shook him right down to the core. He could feel something cold down his cheek and all along his side.
It was just his mask. When he slept in his costume his mask went all over the place, and usually was on backwards by the time he woke up. With a small tug of the cloth he could see again. Although he didn't want to see it.
The cold night air had finally got to him, and he began shivering as he saw the pool of blood he was in. Spiderman reached out his arms to move, but stabbing pains hit him throughout his body. He lay perfectly still for a moment, getting the stiffness out of him, and trying to cope with the pain.
He had to go see someone. This wasn't just something that would go away, he couldn't even get up. One hand went down next to his face, the other following. He had to get out of here, pain or no pain. Aunt May must be worried sick. The fact that he had nearly died tonight might put the poor woman into hysterics. He didn't think he was going to mention that though.
Pain flashed throughout his body once again, even his hair hurt. He pushed through it though. A nice warm bath, just think about that. A perfect cup of hot chocolate, and to top it all off, sleep in until sunset.
He saw the sun was about to rise. His right foot went under him, grabbing onto the concrete. It hurt, pain shot up his leg, but he bit his lower lip and got through it. The next one followed.
Once standing it wouldn't be that hard. All he had to do was web home. Only his arms had to do the real work. Besides a regular dull ache, they were fine.
He quickly webbed home, pausing only once to throw up again. There was blood in it, but not as much as he would have imagined. He had lost a lot of blood tonight, too much for any normal man. Thank the lucky stars he wasn't a normal man.
After the sun was high into the mornin sky he opened the window to his own room. He practically fell into bed, grateful to be home. The house was quiet, very quiet. He wondered why Aunt May wasn't up yet. Carefully he changed, trying not to touch his sides at all. Every time he moved something else hurt, but it began to hurt less and less each time. He didn't know if that was a good thing or a bad thing.
Peter walked downstairs, "Aunt May?"
She was sitting alone on the couch. He thought she was asleep but her eyes were open. She was very quiet.
"Aunt May?" Fear was benevolent in his voice.
"Yes Peter," she shook herself once and looked at him in a loving fashion. Peter smiled warmly at her.
"Aunt May, did you doze off?"
She looked around, "I must have. One of your friends came over last night, looking for a book you had. I must have just slept here after he left. Oh, look at the time, you must be famished, I'll cook you some breakfast."
Friends? He didn't have any friends. Well, no friends that he had needed a book from him. Book? What book? He didn't have any...
The book of Demon Names. Of course, it was Mister Shadow. He must be able to morph into just about anything by now. This was getting even scarier than he imagined. That thing had been in his aunt's house, it knew him by name.
"Did this friend say he was coming back?"
He could hear something frying in the kitchen.
"Yes, he said he would be back by sundown."
Peter thought as much. Well, he would be ready for him then, come hell or high water.
Wait, what was he thinking. He was probably going to die in the next few hours. All be it, he wasn't an expert on anatomy, but for the past three days he had been coughing up blood. Something internally had to be bleeding.
Or worse.
There had to be a Spiderman fan who happened to be a doctor out there somewhere. Just how in the world was he going to find this person.
There was a lot of things he had to do today, but most importantly was that bath, and breakfast and cocoa and sleep.
Ahh, the life of a superhero.

OOC: Sorry everyone but I am afraid I am going to have to pull out of this one. Neale, you are going to have to either get someone for WW or play it yourself. I apologize but I have some personal problems going on. It looks like I will finish up a couple of RPs that I am in and then will probably pull out of Lit for quite awhile.

OOC:Farewell to a Wonderful Woman

OOC: Isolde, you will be missed. Very much. However, I respect your wishes, and hope you resolve your problems and can come back someday...

As far as this thread goes, if anyone wants to take over Wonder Woman, let me know. For now, WW will be out of action, taking monitor duty on the moonbase.

Lava

I slowly felt myself awaking, I had not been in morphusis (made up my own word?) for very long and I did not use my powers beyond levitating that paper.

I blinked, a cool cloth was against my forehead and was being gently stroked around my face. "Xavier?" If it wasn't him, someone was going to get quite a hot surprise in their lap. No real pun intended. I recognized him, my hand went to my head, the usual killer migraine swelling within my skull. My Australin accent thick as I began to curse in my native slang, "Why do I always have to feel crook after a bout with this bloody fainting. Get nicked! I feel bloody galah...*" I spoke quickly...

(*Why do I always have to feel sick after this damned fainting...Good heavens, I feel stupid..* Impressed? hehe)

"I apologize. I sincerly do. This is so damn galah...pardon me, I feel so stupid." I apologized after regaining my composure.

Xavier in "My writer is too sleepy to think creatively"

"Do not apologize bon chere, just simply lie still. I do not want you faint again." As she began to regain her composure. I said "Don't worry about your powers. After all it took years for some of us to gain control and hone our abilities. And hey at least you have powers. All Batman has is a hidden beer gut and outdoor bondage wear."

I as continued to swab her forehead and mentally admired her flaming red hair and dark gray eyes. I said to her "I guess training is off for today but at least we had a lil tete-a-tete time." ( Tete-a-tete: Loose translation one on one: See I am good too)

Wonder Woman

Diana turned to Superman, "I'd like you to take over chairperson duties for now, Superman. I have personal business to attend to on Paradise Island." She then addressed the probationary Leaguers, "Good luck to you all, may the favor of Hera be with you in New York today." Everyone watched as she walked out to the teleporters, her nobility and grace attracting every eye.

The warm bath felt good against his skin. He closed his eyes, dipping into it. Breakfast was in his belly, and most of the day was spent sleeping. He felt better than ever.
Until he moved, that is.
His side was now black and blue all over. He couldn't even look at it, much less touch it. That place where his ribs stuck out looked more prominent. He winced every time he happened to glanc edown. His arms were full of bruises and small cuts. He don't know honestly how he got the cuts, but he got them, and there they were.
His face was fine, but one of his legs had a huge gash in it. It was a deep cut, and hurt a lot. He thought his ankle was sprained slightly. He hadn't realized it until after he woke up, he limped down to breakfast rather noticably. He was lucky that May hadn't noticed it. She seemed a bit off today. He wondered what Shadow had done to her. If he hurt he, Spiderman would show him a thing or three.
The bath calmed him though, it let the past few days crawl away. He couldn't dwell on the past few days, he could simply wait for tonight. A lot would happen tonight.
He had the blood stain that he would have to identify Shadow with. It would at least give him a chance to know what he was up against. He had to prepare some sort of trick when Shadow came for it. Thoughts in his mind already were dwindling up on that. He had to make up some more holy water webbing. He didn't think that was the last of the demonic plague in New York.
And Lastly of all he needed pictures. Tons of pictures. He had wondered why Jameson hadn't called hi...
The telephone rang.
"I am at class Aunt May," Peter said.
"Ok," she answered the phone. A few muffling voices came through the door. He wished he had spider hearing. Wait, that was ridiculous, spider's don't have ears (they don't, do they nnj?). After a long pause May called to him.
"It was Jameson. He wants pictures of those things you brought him before."
As if on cue.
Peter thanked her and slipped into the water again. Everything could wait, he was now having an hour to himself.
Peter's hour of Bathing. That's what it was called. Peter's hour of bathing. For Peter, by Peter.

Huntress. Lava. Ice.

(ooc. Neale, If you need some action going on in this thing, you have Huntress in the main meeting room and Ice in the Antartica, give me a boost and let me know what you want me to do with them.)

Lava:

I took a deep breath and closed my eyes. "Thank you."

I smiled when he referred to us having one on one time, "i am not used to having all these blokes around me. I am too far from my source, it is more difficult to control my powers."

"You have a sharp tounge, where I come from, that would be cause for dismissal."

I smiled, the dark skinned man gazed down on me, He had challenge in his eyes.

Ice. Huntress.

HUNTRESSS: (ooc. batman left? WHAT?)

I nodded. "Good Idea."

ICE:

I looked at the orb of hallogram oddly..."I will accept, under one condition. I am my own boss. I will bring my empire."

Martian Manhunter

The green-skinned alien cleared his throat, and repeated himself, "Ahem! As I was saying, there is a crisis in New York Harbor. The Masters of Disaster are holding an oil tanker hostage, threatening to destroy it if their demands are not met. Perhaps we could go now?"

Green Lantern

I am ready Jonnz,I can transport us all there very quick,so who is comeing? As I say this I make a Green bubble with a door.as I waiting..I remember the last time I was in NY,It was with Carol..I was playing the "consort in a tux" for her at one of her ritzy buisness parties.I will never admit it,but I was sort of glad when Dr.Light crashed that party, because then I actually could do something usefull,I never was truly comfortable with the Nuveo-Rich since Ollie had opened my eyes to the real world back in the 70s.So many people..all just trying to survive..and if anything...NY to me symbolized the extremes of how we all live, and how close the poor and rich truly are to eachother.

As I stand waiting for who is going..I remember that it has allmost been 24 hrs since I last charged my ring.I say..I need one minute please people...so make up your mind.

Martian Manhunter

"Ah, Green Lantern... it has been a while since you've been with the League. We have teleport devices now, ones that can transport all of us to any point on Earth instantaneously."

Telepathically, to Supergirl,"Supergirl, while you are, of course, welcome to almost anything you may find in the kitchen, be sure to stay away from the Oreos... they are mine. Oh, and we are about to leave on a mission to observe probationary League members, of which you are one. If you would care to join us, we are in the teleporters chamber; the machines will automatically transport you to us in New York."

Aloud now, "Are we all ready? I believe that Aquaman intends to remain here on monitor duty." He walks into the nearest teleport chamber, and is instantly whisked to New York Harbor, on shore, but within sight of the hijacked tanker.

/OOC: Anybody seen Superman lately?

There. He ripped out the last page from the book. It was completely empty. He then placed the device inside. An exploding web bomb. It would shoot out webbing to whomever opened it. Not just any webbing, his patented special holy water webbing, this time with extra holy water. If anyone opened this they will either be dead, or have a very bad day. He hid the pages under his bed.
After somewhat cleaning up the mess Peter made careful care to make the book look real. He didn't want anything to be suspicious.
The brace wrapped around his side made him feel a little bit better. There was still pain whenever he moved, though. After the bath his limp had disspeared and his bruises didn't seem as bad as this morning. They still were apparent, and made him conscious of everything he did. He had to be careful.
The sun was about to set.
"Aunt May, I have to go out for a while. Here's the book that my friend will pick up, don't open it. It's sort of a joke book, and there's a surprise in there."
"Sure Peter, no problem," she took the book.
"Thanks Aunt May," he gave her a kiss and went outside. There he crawled back into his room. In the bast two days he had ruined two suits. He only had one left. If this one got ruined he would turn into Sewingman real fast. He didn't like turning into Sewingman, he really didn't.
Spiderman crawled up to the roof and patiently waited for the sun to set. He had set up a few things here that would help him fight off anything that would come, without him actually physically fighting. He couldn't handle any more hand to hand combat for a while, not without dying anyway.
The sun finally kissed the edge of the western world. It was time.

Xavier

I wonder what she meant by power source. I mean I am no geologist and all but would a power source for lava be a volcano. HMM note to self: Ask hot babe what makes her hot. God Gawd even my notes to self are driven by my libido. Note to self part two: Pray she does not have any telepathy to be hearing what I am think and try to control your sex drive here, I mean Jeez man you are acting like you are about to pounce right on her even though that is a nice large bed, with smooth soft cotton sheets. It probably sturdy too with plenty of cushioning to dampen the noice from a little romp in the,,,, Damn I better take a cold shower soon.
Just as I was entertaining wicked thoughts involving my new teamate, a trampoline, and a trained female violinist, she made a remark about me having a sharp tongue. I smoothly answered back "I pride myself for my tongue madamoiselle after all my tongue has had plenty of use and a good worker always keeps his tools sharp and primed. And where I am from a skilled tongue wouldn't get you dismissed by it might get you head after class with la madam professor for a tete-a-tete in it's own right."

As soon as Batman reappeared in Gotham he saw that everything was bad, no it was worse than bad. He knew that he should never have gone up to that stupid meeting with things as bad as they were. He looked around and spotted the building where he had left the Batmobile then pulled the remote control off his belt, pushed the button and waited for the car to appear. As soon as the vehicle appeared he jumped into it and hit the comm button, waiting for someone to answer. Robin's face appeared on the screen and the first thing he said was, "Thank god you are back. You have to get to the Batcave right away."
"I am headed there now," Batman said before he sped off down the street.

A sense of awe somehow came over him. First it was all he knew, the blood, following, all of it. Then of course, there was the vampirism. He now knew who Shadow was, it was a vampire. A very old and powerful vampire, but a vampire nonetheless. He could deal with a vampire.
Holy water wouldn't do the trick, he needed something harder. That garlic webbing from when he helped Blade capture vampires. He would have to make it twice as strong, but that was no matter, it was as easy said than done.
His side still hurt. Spiderman kneeled to the ground of the roof, pausing a minute to catch his breath. Once he starts webbing, it takes him a lot to stop. It's like one single solid action, and when he's done. The pain comes to him in waves.
A smile creased his lips, he would have loved to see that asshole open the book. It wouldn't do too much damage, but just to see the pages gone and that shit hit his face.
He had to start winning some fights sooner or later.
Webbing back home, he knew he couldn't do anything else tonight. Nor did he know what to do except rest and get ready for the battle with Shadow. It will surely be one of his toughest ones ever.

Dom-al

"Your terms are acceptable, I will pick you up in 30 minutes. Then we have a meeting to attend with another associate that I hope will join in our quest." The hologram replies, the image flickering before disappearing.

30 minutes later, the large silver starcruiser owned by Dom-al gently sits down on the glacier, the landing gear compressing the snow. The ramp lowers, a door opens, and a tall, wide shouldered man dressed in what looks like black leather steps out and approaches Ice.

"Finally we meet in person." I say to her, as a second ramp lowers from the rear of the ship. "I hate to rush you, but we are on a deadline. Anything you need to take can be placed in the storage compartment." I stand there, absorbing the radiation the yellow sun is giving off I can feel the power building inside of me by the second.
