Justice League: The New Wave (OOC - Interest Check)

Yeah, I'm right there with you. Those who can't draw, write? I've been trying to paint scenes with my words like you did. Good job.

It's times like these that I wish once more I could draw comic book style.

I have this frame or even cover in my head.

BB on his back, head lolled to his right, right arm palm up next to him, left arm draped over his waist, green blood on his chest and fripping from his mouth. Teen Lantern on her knees, his left shoulder and back resting on her legs as she is obviously devastated by his "death" with Thea coming up from behind, body posture reaching in anger, while the face is shocked, the Titans and League in the background, shocked into a stand still, with a shadowy hand hovering above them.

Sigh...

I think it would have looked super cool.

But that is just my mad mind at work.

Carry on

That would make a pretty slick cover.

TH, does BB still have the injury in his arm from getting forked earlier?

Just to clarify.

The hand grenade is a legit, honest-to-goodness fragmentary explosive device. Except Zatanna has been made to use her power to bless it.

So now not only will it detonate with force and shrapnel deadly to those nearby it without sufficient invulnerability or armor, but it's also anathema to demonic entities.

On top of this, the holy water that Zatanna unleashed earlier is still dousing Danni, ostensibly preventing her from resuming The Rider's form.

The grenade itself is not a holy water balloon. It's an actual grenade with the Monty Python treatment.

I apologize if I was unclear. :/

ok, so Raven has responded. please let me know if I need to edit anything. once that is complete we should be able to go further with responses.

Looks amazing on mobile!

I have a reply in my head, and I will try to work that out when I get home tonight at about 10 PM US Eastern.

Then we can move on to the next phase!

As before, if anyone has any unresolved fight scenes "interrupted" by the current plot development, feel free to take a post or two to "catch up" to the present before reacting to these events.

If anyone has any questions about what threats are still in play, hit me up and I'll do my best to square you.

Hey, Wyld?

I think your last IC post double-posted for some reason. Would you mind editing one of them down when you get a sec?

...and again!

Ruby has just Dialed H-E-R-O. Which means she's going to turn into some random superhero or superheroine with random powers. But rather than my picking them and getting basically whatever power I want whenever I want, I would like you guys to pick.

You can either name a super power or powerset, or name a superhero(ine), and I will either pick an existing hero with that power, or become that named hero, or come up with a Captain Ersatz that has that power or is inspired by that named hero.

Hopefully that's not too dense an explanation.

Bonus points for giving me awkward or unexpected powers or characters, stuff that forces me to think on my feet, this is meant to be a challenge!

(Though I would love the occasional dramatically-timed epic Hero, this should be a last-ditch thing, like we'll never survive unless I get something conventionally useful. A very rare occurrence.)

Extra bonus points for giving me a Legion of Superheroes member or Ben 10 alien that fits the above criteria. :D

Thanks, guys!

Making some dough

Sorry it took a week for Blue to make a sandwich. I was supposedly on vacation, but i think I need a vacation from my vacation. Ugh.

It's okay!

Take all the time you need.

I've been super focused on keeping up the momentum on the big fight sequence in the main, and Raven's apotheosis moment, so I've not been posting much in the other threads, either.

Davros - A Hero to his people the Kaleds

Ah, see, that's an important distinction that I should have made before, my bad.

He's a hero to his people, but would he really objectively be considered heroic? A superhero?

He bioengineered his people to survive, but in the process created a race of mass murderers. Created, cultivated, and cherished them.

He also recently tried to drop a z-neutrino bomb into a time rift and literally commit omniversal genocide to guarantee that his cyclopean cyborg psychopaths were the only creatures left in existence, and if that doesn't put him on the Hero Dial do-not-call list for multiple eternities, I don't know what would.

Davros is a villain. He would come up on a V-Dial, not an H-Dial.

The V-Dial would be a cool device for an anti-hero.

As of "Dial H" in The New 52, a massive influence on the Dials in this Multiverse, it's established that a villainous person cannot use an H-Dial even if they don't know they're a villain. The Dials only work for people with compatible souls.

V-Dials are totally a thing, and they're scary. But if an anti-hero is still considered a hero who does things not in traditionally heroic fashion, I would think they would still use an H-Dial.
