Weekends are worse for me than weekdays these days. And I've been on a weird leave schedule at work, that's made my free time kinda wonky for writing. That and I've resurrected a book I was working on (sci-fi + video game fantasy) so that's distracted me a bit every now and then. I got a goto post for our Kiz thread rolling around in my head and I nice one for Challengers...because while Blue has been to many worlds and seen many magical wonders...he's never been to outer space. In many ways, seeing multiple earths isn't as mind blowing as seeing the stars.

Looks like a fun fight that you set up on the main thread. Can't wait to see how y'all resolve it. Wish I had the time to participate on it. I had some ideas for a duo of characters, but I just don't have the time to commit.

Parents have just decided to put their house on the market so have been there all weekend getting the place neat and tidy ready for that.

Sorry for your continued struggles, they seem many. But a reborn story is always cause for celebration!

If you ever do get more time on your hands, I would love to hear about those character ideas. If nothing else, we could always work them in to "Challengers" and/or "Outsiders!"

I have wanted to write Firestorm for awhile, but like the original version when he has kind of mastered his powers but it is still new to him.

I have always thought he was an OP type of character that was never written that way.

Yeah, Firestorm works best when he has incredible worldbreaking power but the brain in charge of him isn't that bright. For all the instruction in the world from the voice in his head, he could still guff up, that's good balance to me.

They did a similar thing with Parasite once during his "Doc Parasite" days, that was fun.

In any case, on my mental list of The League roster that vanished with the team, Ronnie Raymond is definitely there.

But you could hypothetically bring in a Jason Rusch or a Jefferson Jackson if you wanted. I've also mentioned a Firehawk kicking around as part of the US President's Secret Service detail (it's canon, "JLA: New World Order," look it up! ), you could also bring her in.

Or you could just forget main continuity and bring an AU Firestorm into "Challengers."

Hmm Tempting me with the promise of allowing me to write a character I have always wanted to. You know that is cheating right?

The way I see it, my duties as mod are twofold.

One, I help you bring to life characters and scenarios that you might not have had the chance to otherwise, (even to the point of bringing back old characters like Jo!), facilitating wishes and visions and creating just the right kind of escapism.

Two, I throw the biggest spanners I can find into the works so that you have to test and stretch those characters and scenarios to the breaking point and curse my name to the heavens but hopefully write some spectacular drama in the process.

It seems like a pretty fair balance to me!

She doesn't have a full bio as yet, but her mini-bio is here as part of the bio for Victoria Rose Grant of Earth-25. She is linked to both The Green and The Red, hence "Redwood."

The idea was that she was the daughter of Swamp Thing and Ceri McCrimmon, then raised as a human girl at Smallville High by a semi-retired John Constantine. Then a chance encounter with meteor rock would activate her latent powers... transforming her into a shapeshifting, fast-healing, arboreal bad-ass, albeit one with an inexplicable Canadian accent.

Right now, Barracuda is on Renegade. Rebel and Aquagirl haven't made a move yet against Barracuda, but they're welcome to do so. I didn't want to jump that gun with Lorena before you had a chance to react as Jo.
