Your difficulty is not imagining hypothetical histories; it is mistaking them for evidence. One can imagine any number of alternate worlds in which every variable is neatly arranged to support a preferred conclusion. The challenge comes when one must return to reality and defend that conclusion with facts. As for my alleged inability to perform a thought exercise, I have noticed that people are most inclined to question the intelligence of others immediately after abandoning the burden of proving their own case.

Here's a "thought exercise" for you. The American Indian was here for thousands of years before the white man, what did they build? What did the sub-Saharan African build in the thousands of years before the Arab and the white man arrived?
