Except the FACTS in evidence show that a rainstorm hit the track meet, and the kid with the knife was simply seeking shelter from the rain when dead Billy Badass and another goon that was also much bigger than the kid with the knife decided to "protect their territory" by trying to shove the kid with the knife out into the rain.

• A lack of additional strikes with the knife is a legitimate point to consider. If malice aforethought had been in play, one would expect there to be significantly more stab wounds to the lead racist thug(s) and more victims / injuries.
• It appears Karmelo Anthony did just enough to stand his ground / defend himself, and then disengaged from the conflict.

The reports of the conditions & events leading up to the stabbing support the conclusion that a couple of testosterone fueled youths decided to "defend their turf" when Karmelo Anthony was hanging out in THEIR tent while trying to stay dry. The kid did NOT go into the tent area brandishing a knife and begin stabbing people. He was verbally abused for quite some time, and he only pulled out his knife when the lead racist thug and another racist thug approached him and attempted to physically remove him from the tent / throw him out into the rain. And the fact that he only stabbed one person one time also speaks to his lack of premeditation or malign intent.
Meanwhile:
I get that a racist jury (there were NO black jurors) found the kid guilty and all the other racists are currently happy af, but this case WILL be appealed. 35 years for what looks like a case of self defense (manslaughter at worst) is ridiculous.
