Knuckleball (Closed)

He took the control changing the channel to FX. It was barely showing Eagle Eye he thought about it. "This is the only movie I could find."

He looked at her as she spoke. He was glad that he did stop and listen because he found the root of the problem. "Are you kidding I knew that your not that type of person. I don't care as long as your there when your needed. Look I'm not expecting a T.V wife I just want one who tries there best."

"It's fine." She said resting her head on his shoulder "thank you for all the help today."

"Don't look at me, look at the road." She said "please don't get us killed...." Natasha sighed "next time I'm driving."

He smiled as she leaned on him. He rested his head on hers. "No problem I love you." He said while watching the movie. Happy to see her not the way she had been acting.

He focused back on the road not knowing if she was joking or not. "Fine you drive next time. We're here anyway come on." He pulled to the side of the road in front of the shop.

"I love you too." Bella said wrapping her arm around him "I promise I'll make it up to you when I'm back to normal." She said.

She quickly got out of a car "there is a baby in here." She said pointing at her stomach "you have to be careful too, not just me. I'm not doing this alone."

"You don't have, too. Thank you if your still going to do it." He said kissing her forehead and softly rubbing up and down her arm.

It kind of shock him the way she reacted. "I'm sorry I didn't mean to scare you. I've told you I'm not leaving you alone. I promise to be careful with you and the baby." He said wondering if she this was the hormones acting up, but he didn't ask.

"What would be the best way to make it up to you?" She asked "if I was going to make it up to you that is..."

"Okay, let's go pick out flowers and then we can go home." She said walking into the shop starting to look at stuff.

He thought a bit smiling a little at the ways she could repay him. "I would like to be surprise. A dinner home cooked, but I would want you to look beautiful in your best outfit. Get the best of both worlds you know."

Maybe it was the hormones judging by her change in tone and mood. He followed inside he never been in here for a while. He came in to get flowers for Natasha when ever they had fights which led back to their sexual relationship. So it felt weird coming in for a wedding. "You go look I'll wait by the counter."

"I'm sure I could do that." She said "but by best outfit do you mean dressiest outfit or sexiest outfit?" She asked "I'm just wondering..."

"No, I want you to help pick them out. I'm not the only one getting married and you're paying for this." She said "so you need to help."

This was tough he thought of course he wanted her to wear the sexiest one, but would she think he was a pig. "Umm... the sexiest one."

He resided to his fate moving towards her. "I'll help you pick, but I don't know what type or what color flowers you want?" He asked looking with her at the rainbow of flowers in the store.

"I kind of figured that would be your answer. I'm not sure I have anything really sexy though..." She said "maybe I'll have to do some shopping..."

"I think I want mostly purple and some pink and white flower mixed in." She said "what ones do you like best?" She asked "I know I need some for my bouquet but do we want flowers around at the wedding or reception?"

Well at least that she expected it he wasn't that embarrass. Yet he thought watching Bella try on sexy outfits that it would be kind of hot. "Yeah I guess you can go shopping later." He said while turning back to the film.

"You pick the kind of flowers I'm not that good. You've seen the ones I brought for you I'm not a good picker. The flowers at the wedding wouldn't work, but at the reception on the tables for the guest seem good." He said know focusing on the color flowers she mentioned.

"Alright... You could come with me." She said "if you want to. I don't really know what's sexy and I'm not sure what you think is sexy so I could use your help."

"You can pick out flowers." She said annoyed "this is crazy. You meet to help with something. You don't seen to care about anything. If you don't then why are we even doing this?"

"Ok if you want I mean I trust you with choosing what you think looks sexy, but if you need a second opinion I'll go." He said hoping he didn't make her nervous or scared.

"Natasha you know I want this as much as you. I care about everything we've been doing. I've been helping get every thing we needed. I don't want to fight about flowers. It's just I don't know I guess I'll be more involved."

"I need your help. I can't even try anything on right now without you..." She said "I could wait until this think is off my arm. Maybe that would be better."

"Then pick something you like." She said "pick a flower you think looks good. Any flower in any color."

"That makes sense you should just wait until the cast comes off. So it could be easier." He said. "So in two weeks that's not so bad. I could wait that long."

He looked over at the color flowers she had mention that she wanted. "Umm... Let's see what about white roses and purple tulips that does that seem like a good combination to you?"

"Okay. Well I think I'm going to go to bed now..." She said getting up, kissing him in the cheek "I'm a little tired..." She said walking out of the room and going upstairs.

"Sure. That's fine. Whatever you want." She said "let's just go. We can do it another time. It's getting late anyway."

He kissed her back watching as she left the room. He watched the movie for a while before opening his laptop. He began looking at engagements rings. Something that would make her smile everytime she looked at it.

"We'll come back later then." He said as they walked back to the car. He wasn't liking her attitude at first it was fine, but now it was becoming an issue.

Bella changed into pajamas. It took a bit of effort to do but she managed to be able to do it. Laying down she wondered what he was doing, probably just watching the movie.

"Maybe we shouldn't get married. You don't seem to care. You say you do but then you don't want to put any effort into it. We could just go get married at the courthouse right now and it would be fine." Natasha looked down "I love you but I just wish you would care about this as much as I do. I just want one day where things are special..."

He looked and looked finding ones, but he didn't know if she would like them. Of course she would be happy to just have one. It didn't matter to him then he found a 3/8 karat ring that would look good on her. He smiled thinking of her reaction when she would get it. He placed an order shipping it here in the next couple of days at the stadium address though so she wouldn't find it in the mail. "I'm coming up if your awake." He said shutting his laptop and climbing up the stairs.

He slowly and carefully pulled over to the side of the road when she mention not having a wedding. "I love you, too. I want what you want to a special day. It's just I have no excuse why I don't put enough effort as you. I never thought about planning a wedding as much as you I sort of expected to just happen. I'm sorry." He then turn back on the road driving home.

"I'm still awake." She said sitting up "so how was the movie? I'm sorry I didn't stay down their with you... I'm just sleepy." Bella took a deep breath "I can't wait to get this thing off my arm and just move on with my life. It makes everything so much more difficult. At least it was my left arm..." She said looking at it.

"I spent every special day in my life drunk or in the back of some guys car..." She said "I just want one time where things actually go well. I need help. Especially since its not just about me. If you hate the flowers I pick or the kind of cake your not going to enjoy it and it'll all be a waste."

"It's fine and no I didn't finish it, but I know the ending all ready." He said while dressing down before sitting on the bed. "Yeah if it was your right hand who knows what you couldn't do. At least it wasn't anything else that got damaged."

He drove silently letting her words sink in. It was sad to think about how many times that she missed special days from her behavior. He pulled into their garage, but didn't get out of the car. "I didn't know this whole time... I was thinking that this was something girls do. I never knew how much this means to you. Look I can promise you that you won't end up regretting our wedding. I'm not ruining our day just because I'm being stubborn."

"So what where you up to then?" She asked "since you didn't watch the movie." Laying back down she pulled one of the blankets over her "or are you just not going to tell me.?"

"It was my fault. I went to prom, I had a great dress and a date but I left after a few minutes and just did other things...." She sighed "that's always how I was... Even your events, we would drink and end up just having sex somewhere."

He covered himself with the other and rested next to her. "I was on the internet looking at things. You know passing the time a bit." He said keeping his word on not telling her about the ring.

"I don't know about prom, but it wasn't your fault when we began fucking each other. I was mentally abusive to you don't you remember. We would get in fights by me getting mad towards some stupid little thing then what did I do buy flowers say sorry and we hook up when we're drunk." He said getting out of the car.

She wrapped her arm around him "okay... Well goodnight Ken." She said said kissing him "I love you." She smiled before closing her eyes.

Natasha sat there for a minute. She didn't remember that, maybe she had blocked it out. "I'm going to go stay at a friends house tonight." She said getting out of the car "I think I need some time to think..." She sighed "maybe you should take this back." She said as she handed him the engagement ring.

He kissed her before closing his eyes with a smile like hers. "I love you, too. Goodnight." He covered himself better and drifted off to sleep with him holding on to her.

"Natasha I'm sorry about the past I really am." He got out as she handed him the ring. "Please don't do this. The ring is yours keep it. I love you more than you will ever know. It's late don't go if you need to think stay here I'll leave." He took her hand putting the ring back on.
