Leather and Lace

[DustyWolfe]

Keri lays with her head facing the opposite wall, refusing to look at anyone as she lays there in pain. Her tough exterior totally shattering.

 

[JenJ]

Jen went over and pressed the button on the machine upping the meds Keri was getting other then that there wasn't much she could do.

Juli came in about then. "Keri love?"

 

[DustyWolfe]

Keri's heart sinks in her chest as she hears Juli's voice, she doesn't dare respond though, knowing that her voice will give her away.

Katelyn listens and watches quietly as she tries to fight off the anesthesia

 

[JenJ]

Jen goes over by Katie.

Juli checks the iv and the pain meds. She looks up as the Doctor comes in.

Keri clamps her hand over her mouth as she feels herself growing sick at her stomach, she fights to keep herself from throwing up at least till someone notices and brings an emesis basin.

Dr. Grey walks in and nods to Juli, she looks at the IV bag then to Keri "been pushing those pain killers hard have you?" She smiles a bit then notices Keri's position and hands her an emesis basin quickly, waiting for her throw up before palpating around the many wounds on her stomach. She looks up at Juli questioningly as she looks over the myriad of wounds all over Keri's body "She looks like she's been in a fight with a grizzly, I do hope that whatever did this to her is taken care of."

 

[JenJ]

Juli looked at Dr. Grey a moment and then Keri. "The person who did this will be taken care of as soon as possible." She wonders if perhaps Keri had brusied ribs or a ruptured appendix. "She could have bruised ribs but with the pain she's in it could be her appendix."

 

[DustyWolfe]

Keri whimpers as her stomach is palpated, this bring on another wave of throwing up.

Dr. Grey nods, her brow furrowed as she continues feeling "Yes... It's her appendix, she must have taken a blow to the stomach at some point, how she has managed to stay alive and concious is beyond me. It must have stayed partially intact or should would be dead by now." The Dr. touches a button on the wall "Prepare an OR for me, I need to do emergency surgery"

Keri finally looks up at Juli, a look of abject panic and horror crossing her face.

 

[JenJ]

Juli looked at Keri. "It will be okay. Dr. Grey is one of the best you will be safe." She leaned down and kissed Keri's head.

She lead Dr. Grey aside a moment. "She has major issues with hospitals her parents had her hospitalized when she was a teenager."

 

[DustyWolfe]

Keri watches Juli, tears in her eyes and panic in her throat, not wanting to be here any longer. She tugs at the blankets covering her but gives up, not able to move.

Dr. Grey looks at Juli for a moment and thinks on this. "If all goes well I supposed we could send her home in an ambulance tomorrow with all the proper IV's, antibiotics and pain meds. Provided you have someone with her 24/7. It depends on how far gone she is though, look at her. She must be running a 105 temp, but she is so tough no one would ever notice. She's a fighter to say the least."

 

[JenJ]

Juli listened to the Doctor. "She will have someone around 24/7 because I will be there as will three others. And I'll make sure her meds are done right. She will get better much easier at home."

Juli went back over to Keri. "You will be fine and able to go home tomorrow provided you rest and take it easy and aren't that far gone."

 

[DustyWolfe]

Keri looks right through Juli as she hears her, panic ripping through her. "That far gone? I'm dying?"

Dr. Grey shakes her head and leaves on that note "They will be down to get her shortly, you can sit in on the surgery if you like"

 

[JenJ]

Juli listened to the Doctor. "I'd like that."

Juli held onto Keri's hand. "No you aren't going to die you have to have your appendix out."

 

[DustyWolfe]

Katelyn looks at the other two helplessly, silent tears running down her cheeks. She's feeling very scared and now she knows she will be here alone.

Keri nods and reaches up for Juli's hand "Don't leave me please."

 

[JenJ]

Jen goes over to Katie. "I'll be right here."

Juli holds onto Keri's hand. "I'm not going anywhere."

 

[DustyWolfe]

Katelyn looks up at Jen and smiles and nods, feeling a bit relieved.

Keri squeezes Juli's hand tightly, not wanting to let go for fear of losing her again.

 

[JenJ]

Juli followed as Keri got wheeled for surgery. She let go of Keri's hand when they reached the doors. "I'll be there once I scrub up."

Jen smiled at Katie. "Are you okay?"

Keri's ears start to tear up as Juli leaves her side, her body starts to go a bit rigid and gets very non cooperative with the nurses.

Katelyn nods slowly "think I'm a bit scared still."

 

[JenJ]

Juli scrubbed up quickly and returned. "Keri you are fine."


Jen nodded. "Scared of what Katie?"

Keri relaxes a bit as she sees Juli, she becomes much more cooperative with everyone after that.

Katelyn sighs and looks at Jen for a moment "Just scared in general I guess, scared that Krystall will come back."

 

[JenJ]

Juli smiled at Keri as she became more cooperative the nurses just looked at her.

Jen smiled at Katie. "Krystall won't get you."

 

[DustyWolfe]

Keri smiles a bit at Juli then closes her eyes, trying to ignore all that is going on.

Katelyn nods and just watches Jen. "Sh... Should someone let Kallie know?"

 

[JenJ]

Juli stood back out of the way as they started to put Keri under.

Jen smiled at Katie. "I'll call her." She placed the call to Kallie. "Big sis they took Keri into surgery her appendix ruptured."

 

[DustyWolfe]

Keri goes under peacefully, her body relaxing.

Katelyn watches Jen and lifts up the blankets to look at her burns. She smiles seeing that they are mostly gone and that her body is healing nicely.

Juli stayed out of the way.

Jen looked at Katie a moment. "Those should fade competely."

Katelyn blushes brightly and drops the sheet quickly, looking back up at Jen.
