Let's Discuss Deal Breakers

#79. For the 2nd date in a row they tell the server that it's your birthday in order to get the free dessert.

I'm out. I'm not looking for a scammer, or someone who thinks the same joke is funny every time.

Time for Dorothy to hit the bricks! :D

Nope. This is not only stupid and cheap, but also a dick move. I'm not one to celebrate my birthday anyway, so calling attention to me would just humiliate me. After the first time, we would have a talk; the second time, someone might be walking home alone...

Very likely a deal breaker.

Some restaurants do have specials that can be used the whole birthday month. However, it should be known in advance so as not to appear dickish

Deal breaker. If they're cheap enough to do that they would probably be the kind of person to come up with bogus complaints at other places to try to get free stuff.

Ditch her and leave her with the bill. That'll learn her! And she can walk off that desert getting home. Then I might go hit on her best friend or sister, maybe both.

That's just tacky, and I won't continue to date tacky. I will however still fuck tacky - I just won't take her to dinner anymore.

Years ago I went out to lunch with a couple co-workers Hooters and they pulled this stunt. I was horrified. And I'm a dude that likes fun pranks and funny stuff. This was kind of assholish and embarassing, though.

I don't even like this done on my actually birthday...but yeah asshole move. No second date. I probably wouldn't even finish the first date.

Hmm. If I'd told him the story about Grammy and the sombrero on the first date I could see the humor on the first round. I would smile sweetly to the waitress and apologize for his silly joke, then let him know the joke is played out.

If he didn't know about Grammy? We'd have never made it to the second date.

#80. They ask you out on a date. You have a great dinner and the conversation goes smoothly. When the waiter asks one bill or two, they ask the waiter to split it without ever discussing it with you first.

Deal breaker. If they ask me out, then I’m assuming they’re paying, and I would the. Order something less expensive than what I would really want.

That said, I almost always offer to pay half...

I don't know if that would be a deal breaker, but I do know he wouldn't be getting "dessert" afterwards.:D

I haven't dated in awhile but would a waiter even ask a couple out if the bill should be divided? At any rate, if a guy asks me out I would expect they were going to pay. I wouldn't be ordering the most expensive thing on the menu anyway. Tacky thing to do without discussing it first.
Deal breaker
