I can't roleplay at all. I don't really know how to do it and it just doesn't come naturally to me. Not just sexually either, anything. I've had friends ask me to play Dungeons and Dragons and shit like that. Nope. Cannot do it. A long time ago an old friend wanted to do some roleplaying with me. She wanted me to pretend to teach her how to fuck. I just couldn't do it. I remember saying "Well, I mean you're not a virgin or anything. I know I'm more experienced than you but you know what you're doing." I guess I kind of missed the point but still it was just not something I wanted to do. We did end up hooking up eventually but it was just sex. Good sex, but no roleplaying involved.

as an old school gamer, this always makes me laugh. You want me to roleplay? ok, my 7th level Half-Elf Thief sneaks into your bedroom. Do I roll inititative? Do I need a condom of withholding? RP has a whole different meaning to me :rolleyes:

as to the bedroom, I wouldn't mind the costumes. But when it comes to the play acting, I can't pull it off. The soon to be ex-Mrs. Simian tried to do this, and it just never worked, actually turned me off.

So I will stick with D&D, and not S&M :D
 
Roleplay doesn't have have to feel formal or contrived. It can be spontaneous, flirty, sexy fun! :nana:

I guess when I think "roleplay" I'm thinking full blown in character stuff, which, frankly, I'm very good at, but does not turn me on. (Hence previous reference to stage vs bedroom)

Even my writing must come from a place of realism, and in the real world, I doubt I could squeak out even a little "o" if I'm supposed to be screaming for the handyman to "work that tool deeper, baby! Ohh yeah..Hammer it home!"

The innuendo becomes too comic for me.:eek:

I've never done it, I just think it sounds fun to do during foreplay. ;)

When I think of more serious RP, I think of it as something I might use to work through an issue that I (or a partner) was dealing with. In which case I think it very likely that the emotional intimacy that comes from being vulnerable (again, rather than the actual RP) would lead to sex at some point.

I guess RP is a tool that appeals to me as being fun and/or useful. *shrug*

In my video game where I was a level 65 half elf, I would role play various scenarios to people I flirted with, that was fun.

But in my games, you have the serious role players who have really cool talk, it's almost like a foreign language the words they use. And when I played Lord of the Rings Online, there were people who would only walk places, never run because in real life that would tire them out, much less magically port around. They'd eat at pubs and perform music for their money.

Also, since posting here, I got a request to role play and my choice of five different scenarios. I don't know why I work to keep inbox spaces open sometimes, lol.

The vast majority of the time that I do any role-playing online, it's as a vehicle to do two things: 1) Working on my narrative writing (I enjoy creating and exploring the scenario as much as anything else 2) Have a sexually-charged conversation with someone I'd already like to have that kind of conversation which. It's really more of a two birds with one stone kind of thing.

Crikey. See, guys, this is not the way to endear yourself to someone. If that's your goal you're going about it the wrong way.

Although I guess I shouldn't give them ideas. Just post what you really feel and be honest with people. If they like you and want to be your friend or whatever that's great but if not that's fine too. But just the same if you're trying to accomplish something specific that is not the way to do it.

You can find a lot of people into every conceivable thing on the internet and many on Lit. If you want to roleplay find someone who wants to do that with you. If you want to have phone sex there are plenty of women online into that. If you want to sext with someone there are tons of women online who like that. Trust me. There are. There are even more women than you'd think who want tributes or for you to tell them you've gotten off to them. I made a thread about it and found out firsthand. You can find a willing partner and if you require them to be hot you can find them too. I've been on the internet since the early 90s. Trust me, I know. Lots and lots of women are into all this stuff too. But you have to find one who wants to do that specific thing with you.

This is not rocket surgery, people.
 
I've role play chatted online but I've never role played in real life. I'm probably open to it, though.
