I don't get role playing honestly. If I tried to be the pool boy for my wife, she would end up laughing. I barely have the energy to be myself.

The very few times I have had to play a role in the context of some conference or such, I really got into it big time! But in a sexual context, I cannot imagine it for me. I think I get what a great time people might have with it though, if it's their thing.

The dressing up I get. It's the acting I don't get. If I'm a handyman, then she is going to make me fix things before I get any. She'll want me to truly commit to the role.
When people ask me to participate in the role play threads here or try to get me to do it on Skype, I can't do it.
But when I was younger I never watched porn. I used to concoct hot fantasies in my imagination and role play myself to sleep.
So now when there's someone I care about and I want to be a little creative, I just inject my fantasies in the conversation and it comes naturally.

I think that's the best way. I see role playing as something forced. That in itself, ruins any sexual gratification for me.
Now if it comes out through dialogue naturally, then that works just fine for me.
