LGBTQIA+ Daily Vibe II

IRL is what keeps me so busy that I lost track of this thread.

IRL is reminder notes written on recycled junk mail envelopes, written in pencil because I can't find my pen.

IRL is going for a long hike in the desert WITHOUT A CELL PHONE!

IRL is is a hug from a friend so tight and so long that they never again had to use mere words to express appreciation. Just a glance in silence works.

Wearing: a sheet and comforter at dawn.
Mood: coping
Listening to: unidentified hum
You had me at "IRL is going for a long hike in the desert WITHOUT A CELL PHONE!" then totally sealed the deal with "IRL is is a hug from a friend so tight and so long that they never again had to use mere words to express appreciation. Just a glance in silence work"

I feel like dancing ✨
see ya!

Mood: thinking about sailing :)
I truly get that! Out here where I am I've almost given up on skiing this winter....all winter has been rain than a little snow, except this last week there were a few days of more normal temps but that ended and back to rain and snow mix....ugh!

This next summer I'm hoping to go for another long hike. Want to do the state of washington on the pct, so that will be about 500 miles, perhaps a month of hiking.

A post appeared on my insta and I thought I'd pass it on here #icantell from... thetranscomedian. Basically he was getting comments that said 'I can tell you're a man' but also 'I can tell you're a woman' so it's now a hashtag to say fu to trolls!🤗

Wearing: layers cos the heating isn't on yet
Listening to : Aimee Mann ( who has a fascinating back story )
Mood: enigmatic

I mentioned a couple of threads up^ how it's been kinda a trash winter out where I am. Snow than rain type weather. We had a pretty good overnight snowfall day before yesterday, so last night I took off on my skinny skis after work, oh! my! For this winter it was awesome! Now I'm hoping its holds up so I can do some hill steep an deep stuff :)

wearing: wrap skirt and pullover
listening to: Cavetown Radio
Mood: sleepy, soooo sleepy.....

I hadn't heard of her, so just went and looked her up! now I'm anxious to listen! Later tho, as always I gotta run off and get ready.....
good day or eve to you :rose:
My Mum loves Aimee Mann, or rather she loved her first, so I bought her latest album as a birthday present.
I started following the bread crumbs to her life to learn that she got treated really badly by her first recording studio. At one point I think she said 'I'm amazed no one's taken the elevator to the top floor and hosed all the executives in the studio'!
I like her. She's clever & feisty. She has a gorgeous laid back voice that kinda washes over you.
Anyhow - read it yourself :) Here's she is at the Edmonton Music Festival

Google clearly thought I was on a retro music fest so here's this too
Tori Amos - Winter :rose:

Out here on the edge of nowhere, the place I call home, there is finally enough snow to really ski. When the weather has been reasonable I've taken to skiing as much as I can. I love listening to music when I'm out there, almost too much, but a fairly new cut (and band) I'm liking....
would have loved to see them irl!

Tori Amos - Winter :rose:
This Tori Amos piece is amazing! Thanks for dropping it in.
Not sure if Aimee Mann is my stuff, to be fair I don't dislike her songs in that youtube but I'd need to check more of her stuff out.

Have a look into Tori's life story. She lives in the SW UK now with her husband but has sensibly dropped out of the news.

Get this. I discovered today she has synesthesia and 'sees' sound as colour.
I found a second hand book about her life for a couple of quid, so that's on order. I could start my own library! :)

This morning I dialed up a piece about Tori, it was really interesting and it said as you did, she 'sees' sound as colour! (I wish I had this ability) Also she basically just sat down at a piano at a very young age and taught herself how to play!!!!
Mad respect for people like her.
And also it just to me anyways, illustrates the amazing ability of some folks brains.

I haven't listened to alot of her music, but the stuff I have, I like. I better do a deeper dive into her stuff I think.

Woke up early today, having some cream cheese & salted beef as a snack. Supposed to get crazy cold today, maybe even frozen rain and sleet. I love it all, winter is my favorite time of the year. 💙

If it's going to sleet and rain that is not crazy cold. (Teasing you)

Crazy cold is when you toss a mugfull of boiling water into the air and it turns to snow before it hits the ground. Or you shake up a soda and set it outside for an hour. The second you crack the cap it erupts and freezes midspray.

But I am sure where you are from crazy cold is a relative term, Just be glad you are not where it gets insanely cold. :)

Haha for sure. Today the high is gonna be 29 which is definitely cold for us.
Its been below 0 here a few times in the past from when the polar vortexes run through.

Never, Id rather be too cold than too hot any day!

The coldest it has ever been where I live was -50 below zero (F) so that made soft water hard REALLY fast. But the hottest it has ever been is 105 (F) making for a 155 degree swing, so pretty substantial!

 Lets not start comparing thermometers!!
*gravelly voice.... 'the mercury dropped so low I could ... fill blank'

The sun shone today!!! First time I've seen it this month ☀️

I've posted about Ayla before but assumed she'd ducked out of the media. She was a serving SAR pilot in the UK's RAF, served in Afghanistan and this YT is from five years ago. At the time there were 15,000 serving US military personal who were trans. And we've gone backwards since. We need voices like hers.

And as a bonus, another YT of Ayla

Listening to: interviews of Saoirse Ronan
Mood: hopeful
Wearing: just the usual ^^ :)

Both of those YT were totally sweet to watch. She is such a confident, able soul doing, or was doing, a likely difficult job. The world so needs more women like her!
I really loved the scene in the second YT when she was with her parents, to see accepting family like hers just made me so happy!!!
Wherever Ayla is now I wish her the best in life!

Listening to: REM, What's the frequency Kenneth?
Mood: happy to be home, mildly guilty for not being out skiing............
Wearing: skirt an T

Last two nights were a film festival hosted by the local arts council and the cultural center here where I live. The featured films are all locally produced or from a similar northern region.
This year was awesome, some amazing short films produced, even a clip of a local person's YT they do highlighting subsistence food gathering.

Listening to: Dar Williams
Mood: as its still morning...sleepy, contented I guess
wearing: fleecy goodness
