Darn - do I get extra credits if I make the whole thing without immunity points?? I see everyone but me is getting them, and I can't even try.... naaa, I am not complaining just whining, after all I knew what I was in for ;) I think anyway

I have one more for "Ball Two" in the Celebrities category.

Dagnabbit, this is a little hard to follow. Near as I can tell Todd is first with 8,329 points, KM is second with 9 and MP and I are now tied with 8.

If this ain't right somebody please tell me.

New Contestant

Hello Laurel,

New member to literotica hoping to join survivor.

Loving Wife--Discovering Allison (multiple chapters)
Erotic Couplings--Staff Development Meetings (multiple chapters)
Humor & Satire--The Fifty Ways
Erotic Poetry--A Pledge of Equals
Toys--The Right Equipment (multiple chapters)

submitted but not yet approved
Lesbian Sex--Allison's Confession

p.s. This is absolutely the greatest site I have seen for expressing intelligent interest in all things sexual. It is really satisfying to find a home to express those idea amongst like-minded writers.

p.p.s Sorry about the post above this one. Didn't know the difference between new thread and new post. I'll go read some BDSM now for punishment.

Welcome aboard, story_time! I've added you to the Big Board. I haven't counted your lesbian story as it has yet to be posted, so when it does get approved be sure to come back to this thread and let me know! I don't want to count it too soon, because if it happens to get an 'E' it'll be worth 2 points instead of 1. Not saying I'll 'E' it (haven't read it yet), but just in case...

I've finally forced the tables into shape, so the Immunity Points line up with the rest of the table. It's still a frightful ugly mess of a table, but it'll do for now.

Here's the scores as I see em:

Cristo
5 points, 3 immunities

circe!
3 points, 2 immunities

Cockatoo:
7 points, 3 immunities

Deborah:
8 points, 3 immunities

Endlessly:
4 points, 3 immunities

Hecate:
5 points, 0 immunities

KillerMuffin:
9 points, 2 immunities

Lynn:
3 points, 1 immunity

Madame Pandora:
8 points, 3 immunities

p_p_man:
7 points, 2 immunities

SilverSexKitten:
0(?) points, 1 immunity

SteamyChik:
2 points, 0 immunities

story_time:
5 points, 0 immunities

Todd:
1 points, 0 immunities

If that doesn't sound right to you, please check the scoreboard and let me know where I fucked up. ;) This table thing is a little confusing to work on, lol...

The people who I haven't heard from re: their eligible stories are:

Buckler
CRaZy
Dragon butterfly
Eager CoEd
Risia Skye
SilverSexKitten

If any of you did in fact post your eligible stories and I missed it (wouldn't be the first time I missed something), please let me know. If you have no qualifying stories as of yet (a story posted this year, 2001), post that here as well so I can put a 0 in your column to denote that you're in play.

One question: an Immunity Point does not add to your score unless you use it in a category where you don't have a submission, correct? I mean, at the end of the contest, if you have 10 immunity points and all of your categories are full, do those 10 points evaporate or are they added onto the finaly score?

You Definitely Need Some Sleep...

I think you've posted the immunity points for last week (4 April) into this week's date. I know I haven't got 2 immunities just the tiny 1 and checking along the line everyone's points seem to be duplicated for this week.

I've got a red hot tip for this week as well and I don't want to waste it!!

Laurel,

Immunity Points for 4/12/01 awarded to:

In the way that I thought out the rules, the points would still count, yes (which is part of the reason I never gave much credence to a tie). Maybe, the way I phrased the rules didn't explain this very well. If that's so, I hope ya'll will express "ya" or "nay" ideas about it.

Additions

Well, I lost the Immunity Challenge but that annoying Amber is gone so I guess I should be happy anyway. Here are some additions since my first entries.

Lesbian Sex--Allison's Confession
BDSM--Bet Your Ass (multiple chapters)
Hot To—The Dummy’s Guide To Masturbation
Celebrities—A Mickey Mouse Club of One
Exhibitionism & Voyeur—Watching Allison

Pandora--The rules said that Immunity points would be added (2 instead of 1, just like Es) if an author used an immunity challenge but also posted in that category. So, if you posted in all categories, you would just have "extra points" for the number of challenges you won.

I know what the rules say. I composed them very painstakingly. What I was asking was how they were interpreted by those who read them.

Thank you for your input.

MP ;)

If I read the rules correctly, then story-time gets the 10 category posted 5 point bonus too, neh?

Update for Laurel

Sorry, I've been crazy busy and haven't caught the thread until now.

So far, I've only got two up, but the points need to be added for:
Poetry ("Fixation")
Non-Human ("Blood Lust, Part Two")

Thanks! Maybe I'll have to make a guess this week. I need the points! (Especially since more time to finish stories in progress doesn't seem to be forthcoming...)

Risia

You are correct, KM! That's been added in. Risia, welcome to the scoreboard! Please check your column to make sure it looks right to you...I've been known to mess things up before...damn tables, argh...lol

What to do with Immunities

The way I read the rules goes like this:

If you don't have a story in a category, you can put an immunity into it, for 1 point, and it will count towards any multiple-category bonuses that way.

If you've done that, and post a story into a category where there's ALREADY an immunity in place, then you get 1 (more) point for the FIRST story you post into the category (whether or not there's an immunity there), but no additional points for additional stories in the same category, and nothing else towards any multi-category bonuses. So, you can have 2 points in a single category for an immunity and a story that way. 3 points, if the story has an E.

BUT, if you've got so many stories posted that there aren't enough empty categories to accommodate all the immunities you've gathered by the end of the contest, then you're out of luck to some degree- you can still get 1 point for putting an immunity in an EMPTY category, but I don't see anything at all in the rules about:

(a) getting a point for putting an immunity into a category where you ALREADY have a story posted, or
(b) getting more than one point for more than one immunity in the SAME category.

SO, those things should not count.

What we ought to do, then, is disperse our immunities into the categories we THINK will remain empty in order to accumulate the distribution we need for the multi-category bonuses. That way, you've got all your immunity points counted into your total whether or not you post to those categories afterwards, in addition to the points you get for the first story in each category. If you "hoard" immunities until the end of the game, however, you risk loosing a few of them if you end up posting to too many categories.

Did that make sense?

Laurel

Thanks for adding me in. Next time you update, please add one for "Reconciliation" (Non-Erotic). Thanks!

Wish me luck for this week's immunity guess. I don't watch the show, but I need the points. You guys are burning it up!

;)

OK. Finally got around to doing this.

All The Colours of Blue (Non Human) - got an E
Parallel Bars (Gay) - got an E
Whipping At Lupercalia (Fetish)
The Best Revenge (Exhibitionist and Voyeur)

I'm going to make a big effort now so I can catch up. LOL.

Cockatoo -

The way I intended the rules was basically to make sure people realized you got one point for writing the story and one for the immunity.

I think if someone goes the extra mile and writes in all categories, the shouldn't be penalized for hoarding immunity points.

However, the BONUSES only apply to categories either written in OR declared immunity in.

Points-wise I think you should be able to hold on to your immunities as long as you want without fear of losing those points.

However, bonus-wise, I don't think immunities should count beyond the number of actual categories.

Does that make ANY sense? Agree? Disagree?

MP

That's cool with me

As long as we're clear and consistent about it, that's fine.

So, let's let (a) and (b) as I've described them above count. I completely agree that the category bonuses shouldn't exceed the number of categories, and the number of immunities available shouldn't exceed one per week, with 36 more weeks remaining in 2001.

Thus, if you have 26 or more immunities at the end of the game, you get 2 10-category 5-point bonuses, the 26-category bonus, and whatever immunities you have in excess of 26 count as 1 point each, right?

Hmmmn. It looks like the immunities will end up counting for more points than story-writing! Have we even decided what we're going to use as immunity challenges once the show finishes its run?

BTW: Great signature pic!

Laurel,

Immunity points for 04/19/01 go to:

Deborah
Madame Pandora

We got lucky ;)

MP

My story "A Woman Out of Control" just posted in the Exhibitionist & Voyeur catgeory. And I got a point for "Erotic Reviews" when I think it should be in Erotic Couplings. Just caught that.

Gotta get back to work!
