I’m quite conflicted when it comes to porn. I do consume it and I do enjoy it but at the same time, I’m not entirely comfortable with it. I’m very much a ‘live and let live’ type of person and if adults make fully consenting decisions to work in the porn industry, then I’m not minded to think that anyone should stop them.

However I think that due to the fact that the industry operates on the fringes of society, there is a real risk that it attracts both those who wish to exploit others and those who are most vulnerable to exploitation. It’s also involves the public consumption of something that is a very intimate and private act and once it’s out there, there’s no putting the genie back in the bottle.

Personally, I prefer porn at the more amateur end of the spectrum (I’m not interested in plot, set, characterisation) which is another double-edged sword. Whilst the participants might not be part of the wider industry, there’s a very real risk that they aren’t aware of, or consenting in, the public distribution of the material they feature in.

I’ve seen a couple of really interesting documentaries on the BBC (the British tv channel that is - get your mind out of the gutter) by Louis Theroux on both pornography and prostitution that left me deeply uncomfortable about my more liberal tendencies on these things. There seems to be a lot of damaged goods in both industries. And yet I’m guilty of continuing to provide demand for one of them and that probably won’t change anytime soon.

I’ve never been into porn that makes me question if they are old enough...

Realism is what turns me on the most.... which is probably what brought me to lit in the first place.... there’s someone else behind those images/posts who is driven by a real desire (or for the most part).

IDK about other guys but the schoolgirl, barely legal, virginal look went out the door when I was around 25 or 26. I'm more attracted to women with a good degree of life experience and intelligence.

The answer to this is going to vary for most men and could change from day-to-day. I would say men that have daughters probably lose that lust for the "barely legal" look very quickly. IRL, again answer will change person-to-person but there are many different attributes that catch my eye. The tumblr/IG/Porn models are not what garner my attention. I've never been a fan of women with too much make-up and jewelry. A nice smile, beautiful hair and more importantly a warm attitude is what peaks my interest. My answer may have been slightly different when I was younger but that's to be expected as tastes change when you age. What's important changes. The tumblr model may have physical beauty, but if she couldn't make you laugh or is not interested in a emotional and physical connection with you in bed, what's the point? Porn is a love/hate thing with me. It can be addictive. I don’t consume porn nearly as often as I used to. I certainly think as a teen, it was addictive. Fuck that dial up modem. I do not like the school girl or virgin look. I’m not saying there aren’t pretty 18 year olds. But I’m not attracted to that, nor is that ever the kind of porn I watch. Even when I was 18, that would not have appealed to me. However, I don’t really judge guys for liking to see an 18 year old naked. I don’t think it’s creepy. Just because someone is older, doesn’t mean their definition of what they find hot needs to change. They might need to changed their expectations in terms of being realistic. If you’re 60 and not rich or in a rock band, you aren’t getting an 18 year old.
