It depends on the tone of the post: people make posts inviting clarification or confirmation and a decent discusson ensues.
Others will post something provocative just to spark off a discussion, but often they turn into a slanging match. If it's a topic I'm familiar with I'll respond, but if it's not, I'll just watch how it develops.
Then there are the trolls. Oh the trolls…
Even if you prove them wrong they will make some outrageous statement to create a distraction.

honestly? My mood. If I'm already in a bad mood, then if I see something just really stupid. .. Well, it's like fodder. .yk?
Most days, though, I try to figure out what they're trying to say. A lot ~apparently~ is lost without inflection, and what could simply be an inquiry, might come off as being "ass-hatted-ness without better clarification.

the fact is that if you can't hear what someone is saying it's difficult to really know for certain exactly WHAT they meant. Sometimes, even in the form of a question a thing is SO outrageously...well outrageous that it brings out the worst in me. That's why I don't wade into the GB. I fear I'd go guns blazing and I come here for fun not conflict.
In a class I once took we walked into the room and found this written on the board--
"I never said he beats his wife"
We were then asked to speculate about what the person who said a thing like that probably meant. The answers were startling and amusing. Since then I try to be careful how I word things and to give people the benefit of the doubt when it comes to the lack of inflection in written conversation.

There are ways to get your point across without being nasty, though. Fun ways.
At any rate, it depends on the post. It depends on the intent. It depends on the poster. If it's just wrong (as in delivering the wrong information), I'll either do or or 
and correct. If it's wrong as in rude and inconsiderate, I'll likely say something. Inaccurate is much the same way. Gentle correction with a joke. BS? Sometimes I'll watch, sometimes I'll call on it. Depends on how important it is to me.
Ignore... ignore is good, along with a hearty chuckle.

I very rarely seek conflict, so I usually just let it go. Every once in a while, if they've made a factual error, I might chime in with a smile and the correct information. I general respond to most questions as if they were sincere. How the person asking the question responds can often determine if a real conversation breaks out.

I have called people out on AmPics when they are obviously using stock photos (see FakeaSmile's comment re: googleinspect) or if they are posting pics of their girlfriend and it appears they don't have permission to do so. Otherwise...I just sort of sit back and let if fly by.
