Hi you crazy people! Any casualties? Or did you all survive this madness? :)

Hi, Bis! Nice to see you back.

Yeah, we all survived, although somewhat torn... ;)

So what happens now? Is anyone going to publish their stories? I'd love to read them...

DId y'all see this?

And if you're a validated NaNoWriMo winner and you're ready to get that manuscript printed, the POD company Lulu.com is making the same kind offer as last year: A free copy of your winning NaNoWriMo manuscript printed in book form. To register, head to http://www.lulu.com/nanowrimo/nanowrimo.php

incentive to edit this month if there ever was some ;)

My story will never see the light of day, and if I did have it in manuscript form, I'd burn it.

What was it about?

It's a fictionalized account of my life, more specifically the period just before and after my decision to leave America for Europe. I deliberately changed all the details to protect the innocent, including my main character's name. My heroine is the same one from my holiday story (this isn't a plug), but the novel takes place years before the events of ALC and it's written in diary format.

Here's a quick summary:

Vivian writes in her journal while she's on a plane from New York to Athens. She sees the WTC from the window, not knowing that it's both the first and last time she'll ever see it (July, 2001). She writes about her great relief at leaving the States and her past behind, and how excited she is to start a new life elsewhere.

Flashback: April 2000, Paris. Vivian writes about how she met Adrian Lycos, the supposed love of her life. She was a virginal, shy fat girl who was tongue-tied around men, but he was the only one to see her potential to become an enchanting seductress. They met when he saved her from a potential hit-and-run on the Champs-Elysses, and she runs away from him. The next day, he sends her dozens of roses at her hotel. She is intrigued, but fearful of this mysterious man. He asks her to dinner, even using a bit of blackmail to get his way (she dropped her passport when they bumped into each other, so he says to come to dinner or no passport - in a teasing way, but it makes you wonder what he has up his sleeve). She goes out with him, and the seduction begins.

Flash forward: December 2004, Cairo. Vivian opens a brand-new journal and begins to write. She has left Adrian, whose true colors finally come to light. She left him two weeks before their planned wedding, and she uses the money she'd saved from her modeling jobs to finance a world tour before she returns to the States, determined to forget him and start again.

After that, she returns to America and later meets Caleb.

Damn, I said "short summary." Well, you know how we writers get passionate when we talk about our work. Looks like I won't be burning this after all. ;)
