Loa Blood

Kryna Ennairy

Exaggerating her exhaustion she quickly gives Det. Price the name Kryna Paikairy and the hotel she had been staying at but had no intention of returning to. Keeping an eye on the progress of the reporters she makes her way out avoiding the cameras. Slipping into the shadows between buildings she makes sure Dex can’t follow her before heading for a dive where she’s knows she’ll find her old friend and teacher, Fagin.

She reassured the old man that she wasn’t seriously hurt, then briefly explained how she got caught up in this mess in the first place. Her mentor agreed that the safest plan was to follow through with the meeting at the police station, rather than have the police searching for her for yet another reason. She makes plans to retrieve her Paikairy ID’s before going to the police station tomorrow. But first Fagin helps her to a room upstairs where she falls asleep immediately.

Damien decided the going to see Det.Price was not in his agenda for tomarrow. so he let Price know he had other plans and would see him as soon as he could. he started to walk away from the crowd, leaving Nikki behind.

(a few hours later)
Damien sat behind a small desk in his uncle's office. thankfully his uncle was a broker in Argo and had is own company. Damien spent most of his youthful summers in Argo learning everything he could about the world. he thought about of all the people who thought he was just crown prince of Dracon Island but also a smart business man, who would most likely take over his uncle's company instend of rule Dracon. Damien frowned at the information he was collectly online, trying to find out who hired the Bees to attack the shipment of Loa last night and who staged the riot ot the asylam tonight. It was going to be a long night......

Damien

From his uncle's office overlooking the lights of Bay City's downtown core, Damien finds that only a handful of people had access to the information of when and where the Loa blood recovered from Dracon Island was to be delivered to Argo:

-A few high ranking people in his father's intelligence agency, most of whom Damien had known his whole life.

-The Bay City Harbour Master, whose security force apparently never knew what they were meant to be protecting.

-The Argon High Admiral, whose ships had monitored the transport of the Blood to Bay City, but who were told to stay out in the ocean, providing a last line of defense against any Dracon monsters trying to reach the mainland.

-The Assistant Director of the Coda Corporation, and a select team of "handlers" who were to have transported the dangerous substance from the Bay to the Coda facility outside the city.

Damien also discovers that the Killer Bee gang is currently controlled by the Chapel family, the current head of the Aralian crime cartels. He finds no clear links between them and any of his suspects, however.

Searching for information relating to the asylum breakout, he finds a news item from a few months ago. Far to the northeast, near Argopolis, a bus load of students from Argo's top prep school had disappeared. The group included the children of Ministers, Generals, and CEOs, the best and brightest of the country's next generation. It had even included the daughter of a high ranking Chapel gangster. The kids had been taking a school trip to a local air base, with an armed escort, but had never arrived. The bus, all the kids, the driver, and the guards, seemed to have vanished. The escort vehicles were found abandoned on the highway, beside the word "Cuckoo" spraypainted on the road. In the police photos of the crime scene, the road swarms with crows and starlings.

Damien wonders how he could have missed something like this when it happened, until he sees the date. The bus disappeared the same day, the same hour as the Dracon Island disaster. Damien had been busy.

Later that night, Damien's uncle informs him that his brother, the King, is coming to Bay City tonight. He wishes to meet his son and his "team" at the police station the following morning.

Kryna wakes to the sound of Fagin talking business with someone. A pilot, a smuggler looking for a job. When she opens her eyes she sees the familiar darkened wharehouse crammed with the bizarre art objects that were her old mentor's specialty. The man could move anything, but he had always considered himself a connoiseur, and preferred to deal in stolen artworks as much as possible.

When the old Locrian sees that Kryna is awake, he ushers the young pilot downstairs. "Have a drink, my friend, relax, we'll talk later." Kryna catches a glimpse of a tall, handsome, red-haired man as he leaves the room, stealing an interested look back at her.

Fagin shows her to the computer table. "I recieved a message from your brother. I imagine he knew you'd turn up here sooner or later. It's coded, but I'm sure you can decipher it."

The message is not in their usual code, and even though it was designed for her eyes only, or because of it, cracking it takes Kryna most of the rest of the night.

"Dear Sister, I'm in bad trouble. I'm heading southeast to Bridges, Argo by train, as fast as my injuries will permit. I hope to be able to hide in that infamous city of gambinlg, prostitution, and loose laws. Something terrible is after me. I don't know how to escape it, even together. It always finds me. Bring help. Love."

From the date of the message, Kryna is able to find the train route her brother is following. He should be in mideast ricefields by now, and in Bridges in a few days.

Damien sat up drinking with his uncle, he frowned at the thought his father King Dumar wanted to see his son and the so called team he had been working with. Damien leaned back in the chair his uncle looked at him from across the room "It's your father isn't it?" Damien signed "Yes Uncle it is my father, every snice the accident he has been nothing but trouble for me, he is the reason i decided to leave Dracon." His uncle made his way over to another chair. "You mean he had every reason to do with the indent on Dracon, Damien." Damien sipped his drink. "I'm just wondering even to this day, why he let Argo even build the lab on the Island." Damien's uncle sipped his drink "You know why Damien. Dracon would be bankroupt with in 5 years if he did not let Argo on to the Island. Besides he did it for you and his family."
Damien frowned, His mother left the island a few years after Damien was born, all he knew was that his mother was a lovely woman who no longer loved her husband. His uncle knew what he was thinking " She loved you with all her heart Damien, but could no longer stand by Dumar's side as his wife and queen." Damien finished the drink and stood up " I know uncle I know. I'll see you tomarrow, good night....

Seeing that after a few moments he was the only one still there, Dex decided to make his way back toward the better side of town. He had no transportation so he began walking at a quick pace to get away from the asylum, but dropped back into a wandering stride once he got to a safe distance.

He mused over things in his head. Things like how the events of the previous days were linked. He wondered to where and why Kryna had disappeared this time. How it was a coincidence that he kept meeting up with certain people. To him it seems that the past two days have come straight out of an action movie. Too bad he wasn't on that kind of a payscale. Payscale... he cringed at the thought of work and re-filed that thought pattern to the back burner of his mind.

Soon enough he found himself kicking his shoes off in his room and laying on the bed, reaching over to the mini fridge and removing one or three of those tiny little liquer bottles. You know, the ones that would hardly wet a napkin. He unscrewed the little cap and tipped the bottom up toward the sky. Soon he was drifting off to sleep.

"Sorry Detective, but I prefer to remain anonymous. I will consider meeting at the station in the morning."
With that, and before the detective could say anything else, I lept up over the trees and away. Within minutes, I was five miles away and at a old secluded barn. I needed time to think, and this was a good a place as any to do that. Since the accident three years ago, life had been one challenge after another. This latest incident, jumping on top of a damn pipebomb was just a drop in the bucket.
Three years ago I had walked in on a robbery and taken two bullets to the chest. During the operation I had somehow been given a bag of blood contaminated with Loa, and almost immediately I changed into what I am now. Only problem was that when I first changed, I was about 6 feet tall & could lift a small car. I was growing, and so was my strength. The changes seemed to happen when I exerted myself greatly, and I was dreading tonight, because I had done things on this night I had never done before.
I stepped outside, and gazed up at the stars, when the first spasm hit me. Pain exploded across my body, and I fell to my knees, howling in agony. A great popping sounded, like gunshots almost, as cracks exploded across my skin, and stone flaked off, exposing new obsidian skin. My pants ripped off me as I grew, and I lay on the ground moaning. I could feel the earth tremor around me as I lay there, and suddenly a colum or rock burst from the earth next to me, then another, showering me with dirt and rock. The pain reached a new hight and I screamed , and a dozen more rocks exploded out of the ground, ringing my body with pillars of stone. In what felt like days, the pain passed. I finally stiood up under the starlight sky & stared at the monoliths around me. Surrounding me were 12 pillars of raw stone, each one about ten foot in height, and I was eye-level with them.
This was not going to make getting clothes any easier.

Damien spoke to the police then turned and left without even a backwards glance. Nikki frowned even more confused when it came to that man. Right now however she had other concerns. She couldn't give the policman her name. So when he was speaking to someone else she slipped into the shadows and hurried through the back streets towards the hotel she knew Damien was staying at. She wasn't lacking funds, so that wouldn't be her problem. She just really wished to see Damien and staying in the same hotel wasn't to pushy yet would give her the oppurtunity to talk to him. If he learned of her through the wanted papers he may think the worst of her. She didn't want that to happy. She entered the hotel and asked for a room. She payed for it then headed to her room. Once there she stripped and just collapsed onto the bed falling asleep as her head hit the pillow.

Damien returned to the hotel he was staying at. he moved towards the elevator but stoped. reaching out with his mind, he looked for Nikki. he found her asleep upstairs. He made his way to her room, noticeing the door was locked, he gently pushed out with his mind to get her attenion...

OOC: Tag Siren

Nikki's eyes fluttered open. Something woke her up, but everything was quiet. She sat up and slipped on the robe the hotel left for her. She headed for the door not completely sure why she did. She opened the door to find Damien standing there. She stood there for a moment her eyes caressing his handsome face and strong body. She felt herself smile "I was wondering when you would come"

Damien smiled and leaned aginst the door, "What you didn't think i was going to leave you alone alnight did you?" He waited for her to let him in...

OOC: Tag Siren...

Mary

After the last of the ambulances drives away, when all that is left at the asylum site are a few officers standing guard and the Coda truck, Price climbs wearily into his dark sedan.

Mary is woken by the car moving in traffic, as Price talks on his cell phone. "I just hope they all show tomorrow, for all of our sakes." The tired detective hasn't yet noticed the little girl in his back seat.

Sugar

She stayed by Ghost's side as they moved through the scene.
She was hesitant in saying her name. She didn't like the policemen with their badges and the flashing lights, she wasn't the type to put faith in others so easily. Though she knew Ghost would be different...he said he was going to protect her and she believed him.
She slipped her arm through his and drew him close, suprisingly calm, her mind clear.
"You may call me Aya....or Sugar" she whispered. "Where are we going...are the police taking us? I don't want to go from one prison to another...."

Ghost

He looks to her, as he knew she obviously knew she didn’t like these police people and everything that was going on, he didn’t like it either, but he wanted to stay civil. He gazed into her eyes.

“I wont let any harm come to you and if you don’t want to stay here, than I will take you away from this.”

He looks to you and sweeps you into his arms, he wanted to see what this LOA blood did to him, he than looked around and saw all the police people are busy doing there jobs and Ghost looked down to her.

“My name is Ghost if I didn’t tell you, hold on tight. I think this will work.”

He starts to run and before he knows it, he is seeing a blur of lights and everything he passed by, but he could still see Aya clearly. He stopped and he found himself in a park, and he walked to a bench and sat Aya down and took his white jacket off that he took from one of the employees at the asylum and he put it over Aya.

“Where do you want to go? We are safe now from all those cops so don’t worry.”

You can see his metallic arm and clawed hand and he follows your stare and he tries to hide it by putting it behind his body.

“Aya, that is a beautiful name, I have never heard of such a angelic name before. I wish my name sounded that good. So tell me about yourself Aya, since we are out here all alone and got nothing else to do.”

Sugar

She drew the jacket tightly around her slender frame, shivering slightly despite the lack of wind.
There was a slight chill in the air, but she paid it no mind, her eyes fixated on Ghost, and his change.
She reached out towards the metallic appendage, though she paused when he put it behind his back as though he was ashamed.

“Where do you want to go? We are safe now from all those cops so don’t worry.”

She shrugged her doe-like eyes gazing up into his.

“Aya, that is a beautiful name, I have never heard of such a angelic name before. I wish my name sounded that good. So tell me about yourself Aya, since we are out here all alone and got nothing else to do.”

She smiled, "I like your name...among my people you would be Shenoba, a word for guardian and spirit." She paused and her smile widened showing the dimple on her left cheek, "it seems fitting.."
She patted the place on the bench beside her, bidding him to join her.
"As for where we go....I am content to go wherever you like, you make me feel safe," she replied truthfully, "you could lead me willingly into the Underworld and I would feel no fear."
She blushed, afraid she'd said too much.
So she quickly tried to change the subject...
"In my homeland of Amunet I am Lady Aya of the House of Seleos. It is not only a noble house but a house of worship. In Amunet each noble house is believed to be made up of the decendents of a certain deity, and it is our duty to serve our particular deity as Priests and Priestesses. Seleos is our moon god, the Lord of the Night and of Dreams. I had wished to dedicate myself to his service but my father saw fit to marry me off to a high noble in the House of Niobala, our Lady of Passion, and our Lord's consort.." She paused afraid that she was boring her companion.
But all this was strange to her. Never before had she been able to talk about her past so openly, so calmly. Not since the rape, and certainly not since her exposure to Loa....

Ghost

He listened to your story and took in every word.

“That is something, I have never been anything to a woman. Even in my own home, I was nothing to women, but here I am now with a Goddess and she thinks I am something, thank you. This metal arm I don’t know what it means, but it still has my tattoos on it.”

He sat down next to you and put his arm around you to keep you a little warmer. He thinks, you are a priestess and you were married? YOU WERE MARRIED!!! He took his arm away from you and scooted over.

“I’m sorry Aya, I didn’t mean to touch a married woman. I am sorry, I will get you back to your husband, safe and sound.”

He shook his head and knew something was wrong with this picture, but he could not show that this fazed him. He looked to the ground and shook his head again.

“I love looking to the night sky and the moon and the stars, and I think it was fate to meet, maybe you can help me get there someday. I think that is horrible that you were forced into marriage; I think that if you are to be wed, than you should choose and have to love that one person. So how long have you been married? And are you happy with that person?”

He hoped she would say no and that she wanted to leave him or something along that lines, but what was Ghost thinking, he was a loner and a outsider, and no women found him attractive and now with him having this metal piece of crap on his arm, he would have to hide another thing on his body, what he should hide is his face. He showed a fake smile to her, but he tried to make it as real as he could. He stood up and bowed to the noble woman and he smiled again.

“Goddess, I am here to protect you and keep you warm and safe, so I can return you to your husband. I am at your command Goddess.”

Sugar

She blinked.
"Married? No, I am free of that bond and I thank the gods for that everyday."
She reached out and took his hand, "my husband is no longer living. And I have been banished from my native land. It would be death for us both if you returned me there."
She stood on her tip toes and kissed him softly on the cheek, "though I thank you for your offer. Had things been different I may have accepted your offer. And you may address me as Aya or Sugar my friend, as I am no goddess-except," she grinned, "perhaps in your eyes though I know not why."

Ghost

He looks up to you and smiles at hearing that you are not married.

“That is terrible that you are banned from your homeland, you can never go back to see your friends and family, at least you still have a homeland, mine was destroyed. Everyone I knew and loved was murdered. But that is enough about my boring life, so I saw you do something to that large woman, can you tell me about that, I think you know what I can do. But what I saw you do was amazing.”

He just kept gazing into your eyes and smiling.

“And I call you a goddess because you were sent from heavens and you are so angelic. I don’t want to say you are beautiful, cause I imagine you are sick of hearing that. Now what do you want to do?”

He looked to you and kept smiling, his eyes were covered by the sunglasses he wore, he didn’t want to show you his eyes, he was embarrassed to show you his eyes, and he was embarrassed to show you his arm, but he loved looking at your eyes and that is all that it took to make him smile. He now saw the freedom in your eyes and it looked great.

Sugar

Her smile faded, "I am deeply sorry for your loss...." her voice trailed off as she could feel the old hurt within him.
She reached out and took his hand again without realizing the she'd done so, feeling the warmth wash over her and into him.
But instead of invoking fear as she'd done at the asylum, love and acceptance flowed through her.
Wrapping about them like a blanket.
She leaned in close to him, resting her head on his chest....
And awaited his reaction...

Ghost

“It is nothing Aya, I just need to move on and forget about the past, I have a new battle in front of me, I must avenge my people and I must protect you now.”

He felt her hand on his and than a sudden new feeling that he has not felt for along time build within him. He felt love and acceptance fill him, he didn’t know what to think of this feeling, he only looked to Aya and knew it was coming from her and he could only smile as he thought this must be her feeling towards him. He looked at her with his covered eyes and smiled.

“That is a amazing power you have their Aya, you have taken me from the dark hole that I was in and brought me into the light. It feels great. Is that all you can do with that power of yours, see I told you that you are a Goddess.”

He feels her head rest on his chest and he put his arms around her and held her close, he put his own flesh arm on her back and his metal arm away from you.

“Aya… is that your true feelings, what you pushed into me?”

He pushed you back so he could gaze into your eyes and even though you could not see through his sunglasses, you knew where he was looking.

Sugar

She pulled back a bit,"yes...but thats not all my power is. I can make others feel what I feel but I can also bring out the feelings inside them that they need most,"
She paused and reached up to remove his glasses, "and this is what I do for you." She kissed him on the cheek again as she removed his glasses and gazed up into his eyes, one white and one black.
"I care for you my Ghost, my Shenoba....and I find you beautiful. You do not need to hide who you are from me...."

Ghost

She pulls the sunglasses from his face and he jumps away from you, covering his eyes from you and turning his back to you. But Aya didn’t stay away from him, she walked over and turned him around and took his hands from his eyes and gazed into his eyes.

Aya: "I care for you my Ghost, my Shenoba.... and I find you beautiful. You do not need to hide who you are from me...."
Ghost: “I know, I am sorry, but whenever someone looks at my eyes, they freak out and leave me, I am sorry, it was a natural reaction. But you want to look into these eyes, Aya, I think for the first time I am developing feelings for a woman and she is showing them back, it is really a shock. Thank you Aya, you truly are a Goddess and I am glad the heavens have sent you here to me for companionship. But my feelings go much deeper than that, I just don’t know what to say to you.”

He looked at her and you can see sorrow in his eyes. He than took you into his arms and held you close in his arms.

Kryna Ennairy

Growling with frustration she re-reads her brother’s message.

“That’s just like him. Andante you could have told me exactly what kind of trouble so I would know what resources to gather. I suppose I’ll have to gather everything I’ve got then,” she tells the computer, as if her brother could hear her through it.

Finding Fagin she finishes telling him all the details of her story that she left out in her exhaustion last night, her two exposures to Loa, the incidents at the docks and asylum, Dex and the creep in the warehouse. As expected, Fagin lectured her about the bungled job and letting the creep in the warehouse catch her by surprise.

Last of all she ironed out her travel plans, according to Fagin the red-headed pilot could be trusted to take her to Bridges where she would wait for her brother to arrive by train. Glancing at the clock she realized that she had just enough time to go one of her stashes in the city and pick up some ID before the meeting at the police station.

"I can't believe I'm volunarily going to a police station of all places," she muttered to Fagin as she walked out the door.

Detective Price pulls into the police lot, lights a cigarette, gets out of the car, and jumps when he notices a ten-year old girl in the back seat.

"Ashes!" he exclaims, opening the back door of the sedan. Then his tired face softens. He kneels down to speak to the girl at her level. "Sorry kid, I'm a little stressed out. My names John. What's yours? What are you doing in my car? Come on, let's get you cleaned up."

I stood for a while surrounded by the pillars of rock and reflected on my delimma. Nobody with half a brain was going to believe this was a natural formation of rock, plus the shards of my skin laying on the ground looked like someone had destroyed a obsidian statue. Well, at least I wouldn't get picked up for indecent exposure. The change that had given me so much had taken away more. I had lost what made me a man, or living for that matter. I started walking in the general direction of the city. I had not slept in 3 years, so rest was not a issue for me. Miles passed as my stride ate up the distance between me and the city. soon I was in the suburbs, and on my way throough there I fashoned a crude kilt for myself out of a old quilt. I was gonna look real funny come morning, which looked to be about a hour away. I picked up the pace, setting off car alarms & waking up dogs along my path, but come daylight, I would be at the police station.
