Maryland is for lovers?

Start of summer is upon us. Hope everyone had a great long weekend. Ladies, time to break out those nice sun dresses and bikinis. :)

I'm around, StarGazer . . . . I think you and I need to post more interesting topics than the weather and golf in order to attract more visitors. Any ideas?

Here's an idea - What's your favorite restaurant in your part of Maryland, and why do you love it?

You are probably right spurtman. Unfortunately I don't have any recent sexual exploits to spice up the thread. Some older ones but nothing new. I believe bbcbarry wants to talk about gardening. Lol

Cow and the Fish, Hollywood, Md

great food, wonderful atmosphere

Hey, I've been there! Tiny little blink-and-you-miss-it place right on 235, right? I remember the food was great, and if I recall correctly, our waitress was the the owner.

I have been there before. It was good. My area is just the chains, nothing of interest to write about.

Aw, c'mon StarGazer! You're like the heart of this thread. You have to have a favorite, even if it is a chain.

Been a busy little bee lately, but I’m around occasionally.

I agree, Stargazer is the one who keeps us all together.

Hey Pumperguy, hows the new job treating you?

Locally, there are a couple of really good places. Papa Joe’s for Mexican, O’Lordans Irish Pub, Maggie’s... mmm, I’m making myself hungry.

Here’s a question, what are some of your favorite hiking/camping spots in our fair state? I find myself always going up to PA, but am looking for some new getaway spots.

Travel to Maryland quite a bit for work...so thought i'd stop in to say hello. Would love to see what there is to do around the Baltimore area. Looking for tourist-type stuff to do for after work.

Any tips for a regular business visitor?

I am very new to the personals here ... glad I stumbled upon it. And to find a MD thread & someone referencing places that are local to me ... holy crap! My lucky day!

Hi to all! I am just happy to be here.

Hey! The author of "One Night in Baltimore". Welcome to our little Crab Shack of a thread, Slugger. 🦀 Grab yourself a Natty Boh and tell us all how the weather is in your part of the state.

Wow! I didn't expect to be "outed" so quickly. Lol! Thanks for the comment on the story & the welcoming to the chat.

Weather is fine ... for now. Currently sitting in an office in Northern Baltimore County. How about the weather where you are?

OK, following up on a couple of suggestions . . . . . best MD restaurant I've been to recently: Ayse Meze (Turkish cuisine) in Frederick. And great area for MD hiking/camping -- along Appalachian Trail around Washington Monument State Park.

When I lived in PG County as a kid, I remember that we liked going to Rip’s in Bowie. I think it’s still there. Comfort food that appealed to my adolescent brain

I did a lot of camping when I lived in Colorado but since coming back to Maryland I have done very little. I know there are some campgrounds near OC if you want to be near the beach and there is always camping on Assateague Island. There is Rocky Gap State park towards Cumberland and I am sure there are some campgrounds around Deep Creek Lake. There is that reservoir along I-83 between Baltimore and York PA. It probably has some camping.

Hiking is good along the C&O Canal.

Of the Chain restaurants I like Red Robin for burgers, Cracker Barrel for breakfast.

Good Korean BBQ at Kogiya in Annadale. Lebanese Taverna is good in Tysons Galleria II
