Maryland is for lovers?

Been a busy little bee lately, but I’m around occasionally.

I agree, Stargazer is the one who keeps us all together.

Hey Pumperguy, hows the new job treating you?

Locally, there are a couple of really good places. Papa Joe’s for Mexican, O’Lordans Irish Pub, Maggie’s... mmm, I’m making myself hungry.

Here’s a question, what are some of your favorite hiking/camping spots in our fair state? I find myself always going up to PA, but am looking for some new getaway spots.
Elgirldani..you and I must live in the same general area..those are my frequent restaurant choices as well. I do love me some cinco de mayo and jeannie bird as well :)

Hi everyone :) Long time literotica reader, first time poster :) central Maryland here!

Welcome to our little crab shack thread, BookLife79. Current conversations include favorite local restaurants, Maryland camping, and (as always) the weather.

We've got a nice little thunderstorm booming here in PG county right now.

Hey Pumperguy, hows the new job treating you?

Only worked Saturday and Sunday at Johns Hopkins with them. I start full time next Monday. So far, so good. I'll be working in Hershey, stay there during the week and come home on the weekends.

Thanks for asking

Thanks for the welcome! We had a nice little storm roll through around 3:30 today up here in north/central maryland. Watered my plants :)

My birthday is coming up in a few weeks (it's a big one, but I'm not going to say which one!) and I'm looking for a good place to eat in the Anne Arundel/Howard/Carroll/Western Balto Co. to go. Something nice, but nothing over the top..suggestions? I love Asian, Mediterranean, etc..

Hope the weather didn't do too much damage for people. The pics/video didn't look good.

People up in Carroll County seem to like Fratelli's (Italian & seafood). Personally, for a big celebration, I would go to O'Lordan's or Corner Stable ... mmm ribs!

Fratellis is fine..as is Basta Pasta. I really love barbecue, though, so I know where I'm going when my husband takes me out! The recommendation was for my dinner with my mom and sister. Trying to stay away from big chains, but not sure..

You could try Victoria Gastro Pub in Columbia. I've only ever been there for brunch with my sister, but their brunch is amazing. I'd bet the dinner menu is just as good.

Are you an official Chocolate Taster? :) I took my kids to Hershey Park one time and bought a 5 lbs chocolate bar. It was huge. Must have eaten off that things for a couple of months. My preference is for dark chocolate but a Hershey bar is good. I don't imagine anybody else here likes chocolate?

Welcome Joe and Booklife. Post any ideas that you want to talk about.

I have been to Looneys in Howard county many times to meet friends but I don't know of any restaurants in the Anne Arundel area of Maryland but there are many good restaurants in Annapolis so that could be a place for a nice birthday dinner. Nice place to walk around. I did a Segway tour of Annapolis one time and it was a lot of fun.

Elgirldani loves the winter so loves to talk about cold weather. She even tried to seduce me in the snow one time.

lol, nope. Couldn't eat that much, ever.

I mean, who doesn't like dark chocolate?

Wow, StarGazer. I see how it is. That’s an interesting little bit of libel. Who here remembers that story differently?

 :p

You don't remember it that way? Hmmm, I seemed to remember you wanting to get me out in a snow drift and have your way with me but I said it would too cold. ;)

So have you been thinking about me camping with you, maybe some nighttime skinny dipping in a nearby swimming hole or rolling around in the sleeping bag with me???? :D

Hey, hey, hey -- I see things have progressed beyond weather and golf here . . . . hope to see the conversation continuing/expanding . . . happy weekend, all!

Hey, hey, hey -- I see things have progressed beyond weather and golf here . . . . hope to see the conversation continuing/expanding . . . happy weekend, all!

You know we can expand on the subject of golf to make it a bit more interesting:

Bedroom Golf Rules:

Each player shall furnish his own equipment for play -- normally one club and two balls.

Play on a course must be approved by the owner of the hole.

Unlike outdoor golf, the object is to get the club in the hole and keep the balls out of the hole.

For most effective play, the club should have a firm shaft.

Course owners are permitted to check shaft stiffness before play begins.

Course owners reserve the right to restrict the length of the club to avoid damage to the hole.

The object of the game is to take as many strokes as necessary until the course owner is satisfied that the play is complete. Failure to do so may result in being denied permission to play the course again.

It is considered bad form to begin playing the hole immediately upon arrival at the course.

The experienced player will normally take time to admire the entire course, with special attention to well formed bunkers.

Players are cautioned not to mention other courses they have played on or are currently playing to the owner of the course being played. Upset course owners have been known to damage a player's equipment for this reason.

Players are encouraged to have proper rain gear along, just in case.

Players should assure themselves that their match has been properly scheduled, particularly when a new course is being played on for the first time.

Previous players have been known to become irate if they discover someone else playing what they consider to be a private course.

Players should not assume a course is in shape for play at all times.

Some players may be embarrassed if they find the course to be temporarily under repair. Players are advised to be extremely tactful in this situation.

More advanced players will find alternate means of play when this is the case. Players are advised to obtain the course owner's permission before attempting to play the back nine.

Slow play is encouraged; however, players should be prepared to proceed at a quicker pace, at least temporarily, at the course owner's request.

It is considered outstanding performance, time permitting, to play the same hole several times in one match.

The course owner will be the sole judge of who is the best player.

Touche, StarGazer! Question for all: Are senior shafts still popular on most courses, or is there an insistence on "regular flex" or "stiff flex?"

When I have more time, I'll write up and share my favorite golf joke, about grandpa, his son, and his grandson playing on a muni on Father's Day (unless you know that one, StarGazer!).

What an overactive imagination you seem to have. Along with certain other overactive parts. :p

I haven’t been thinking about you camping with me, no. In this instance, 3 would definitely be a crowd. :rose:

So you are trying to get me involved in a ménage à trois now huh? :D
