Jack, I hope you're feeling better. Yeah, no fun going to work when you feel so icky. I hope the flu clears up soon.

Howdy, to everyone else. You guys sure did post a lot last night. Have a great Monday, everyone.

Happy Monday after Easter... Smiles...

Thank you Waverlysgirl.... I do feel some better today. And my day was easier for it. Work was not near as difficult as last week was so I know things are better for me.

Certainly Red....I work in the ER...I enjoy my job...but this is something you carry with you regardless of how long it is....and im sure you know what it sounds and feels like...it is so difficult. NO matter how hard you try to not bring things like this home you cant help it. I walk out of the ER at the end of the day and I cry. I sit in the parking lot at work and cry. Then I come on here and vent.

Being in the medical field isn't easy. People kind of attach this glamour to being a doctor sometimes but just ask the ones that work in places like where Temp does and they'll tell you its not a picnic. I remember when my grandmother died in January and in the few hours before she died two doctors were working on her trying to do everything they could. I remember just before my father and I found out my grandmother died I saw the young intern doctor crying behind the nurses desk. At that moment, I felt very sad for her because I knew they had tried very hard to help my grandmother but they couldn't save her and for this young doctor it was certainly going to be a scene that repeats itself often during her career... The lost of my grandmother hurt but to think that these doctors and nurses have to experience death almost daily, that's a pain I can't imagine.

I have a lot of respect for people that do what you do. I hope that for all those people you've lost, there are many more that you have saved, and at least that can be a small comfort.

oh sweetie...shoot!
i'd meet you for some sort of libation or another but i'll be out of town this weekend...;)
hmmm...you can't really go wrong at the inner harbor, or fells point either!
the hotel concierge whould be able to help...
the rusty scupper has the best location and the prettiest view etc, but not the best menu, food, or prices...but the view is great!
i always feel like you're better off at the inner harbor pavilions...and if it's nice out you can stroll along and enjoy, and if it's icky out you can sit inside and enjoy
oh hey!
there's a hooter's at the inner harbor! :D
lmao!
whatever you decide...have fun...wish it was a time when i'd be home and could spend some time with you!
sheesh...

Ah, we must be two ships passing in the night...well, I'm sure that whereever you're spending your weekend, you'll find some kind of enjoyment or amusement, especially if it involves WCM ;) . The weather should be nice--I've wandered around Fells Point during the afternoon, and it seems pretty dead until evening. And I've been to that Hooters:D -- remember, I suggested it as Lit-together spot months ago?

I'll have a car...maybe I'll see some other parts of Baltimore beyond Inner Harbor--or even scout out the situation at Arundel Mills Mall!

Anyone else have ideas?

wow Roman - just a few blocks from me -

on the harbor, you could try McCormick & Schmick - nice view, good food, but fairly expensive

also close to ESPN Zone and Hard Rock if you like that type restaurant - if you like jillian's, the upstairs at the ESPN Zone is very similiar to it

if it's a nice day and you'd like to sit outside, there's the cheesecake factory in harborplace

the Rusty Scupper has a good view but is on the other side and the food leaves a lot to be desired

if you like casual bars, head to fells point - there are plenty of them there

if you like italian, you are only a few blocks from "little italy" but to me that's more of an "evening" type atmosphere

if you have extra time, you can visit the aquarium, the science center, or the imax theater

Thanks--I'm trying to branch out from the chain restaurant experience, and I've done a lot of the Inner Harbor attractions before (although not the Science Museum--should check that out to see if my son would like it). I may wander around Little Italy to get the ambience...although I suppose that if I REALLY want some ambience, I could always stroll down The Block:D

just got up....

figured I would pop in and wish every body a good morning...and to find out just how everyone spent their easter weekend?? (nosey that way I guess!!) Kiss

Temptations

One of the eeriest scenes I've witnessed is in Japan...when a family member is killed, the surviving members go to the scene where he/she died and shout out the name of the victim, hoping that the spirit will find its way home. Any loss is terrible, and it's a particular tragedy when a parent is predeceased by a child. Prayers for your own strength--I still don't know how ER staff get through their jobs, but you must be especially unique.

Just getting up??? I wouldn't mind that kind of schedule! Easter was very busy for me, due to family commitments...hoping that this weekend will be more relaxing!

If you're going to be nosy, how about volunteering some details about YOUR weekend?:p

~smiles~
~hugs~ thanks Roman...but unique..No..not at all..i simply do my job....i have never worked in a hosiptal before much less an ER and once I was there I was hooked. There is nothing like the caring and the adrenilen rush when yo uknow you are helping someone and the rewards are amazing...and no not financially..~~giggles~ i love my job...and thank you again.

Zorro
~smiles and hugs~ yes it is hard and most certainly the lives saved outweigh those lost but the way an ER full of staff can pull together to do their all for someone is amazing. I have seen my docs break down after a very stressful adn tragic event and cry...then pull themselves together and do their job. Its incredible to see. People assume that docs just work they are zombies..but they take every single patient that they have treated with them ~smiles~

Well dear one...I worked from 7am-11am and then 2pm until 11pm (easter sunday) so my easter was utterly sucky!!! However I did give my babies their baskets on Saturday so that wasn't so bad...and I did get really drunk Sat. night (Which left me slightly hung over when I went to my jobs on Sunday) Basically I worked all weekend long which is why I arose so late today so:p
I hope you have fun in B-more...the harbor rocks!!!

Thanks--not sure if it 'rocks' on a Wednesday afternoon, but I'll find out! I'm combing my Zagats and other resources for interesting spots to check out...

Sounds like you really tied one on last weekend--glad to hear that the drying out process hasn't left you permanently scarred!
