Hi from Vail

Omg crazy to have to use my phone but Internet up here in the mountains is crazy. Hope you all are doing well...and Rope your avatar is making me in even more of a wolf mood. Might be the work on the performance piece might be the open skies and sparkling stars might be the mountain air...

Enjoy the fresh air hon and tell my brothers HELLO for me! ;)

Yeah, originally we had two threads here but this one seems to be winning out. We're just trying to keep locals in touch with each other. We have tried to get everyone together for a meet & greet but the only time we tried it fell thru. Maybe after summer, when things calm down a bit.

Got a few new posters it seems. :) Nice to see some new faces and the regulars on the thread. How was everybody's weekend? EG, you having a good time in Vail. You hiking or what there? I use to work with this guy whose goal it was to hike all of the 14ners in Colorado. Forgot how many there are now. I lived in Colorado Springs for 7 years and Denver for 1 so did a fair amount of skiing there. Went to Vail a couple of times though it was very expensive.

Welcome to the new posters. Hope you stick around and post some. Anything goes here so talk about whatever comes to mind.

Ahhhhhh back from a week long vacation. Now it's all quiet and weird, lol. And yet, I still have a ton of food from vacation that I somehow have to consume.

WG, was checking out your pic thread, very nice but also wanted to comment on the book you were reading, The Wheel of Time. Great series of books though I was really bummed when I found out that Robert Jordan had died before he finished the last book in the series. Since it was seems to be about 3 years between books, I stopped reading them about 8 years ago and just bought each new book as it came out. My intention was to read the series after he completed the series.

Swingers place

Hey - Last week I went to this place in MD. It was like a Swingers club. They have events every weekend. This was my first time and found it interesting.

I went just by myself (M/36 here) and didn't have a lady along. So obviously wasn't getting much attention. Any guy would want to have his fun while willing to share his woman, understandable.

I was thinking maybe I could get some help here on Lit for this.

One, I am wondering if anyone can guide me on how to break the ice with couples at such places? How do you go about making the couple (I was told the right approach was always to get the man's approval first before approaching his woman) and the lady warm up to you?

Two, is there a lady here on Lit who would like to accompany me to this place? Does anyone have the curiosity to interest to see how it would be?

Would appreciate help here folks. :)

hiking

Will make sure to pass your greetings along Rope-I sat on the deck for hours watching the most incredible skies unfold and listening for the echoes of howls. Makes me want to do some night hunting of my own but not this trip I suppose. Vail is great for hiking and I have spent hours in the rivers with the kids. Panning for gold in the Arkansas yesterday and possible tubing the Eagle later this week. Lots of walks in the woods and lots of quiet time climbing boulders and building rock towers. Hope you all have a great week.

Wow, that sounds so awesome! Are you on vacation with your family? If so I am a little jealous!:D

vacation

Yep my kids and I and my ex husband...which is mildly awkward but we co-parent well so this seemed like a good idea. My step-mom lives here half the year so her house is great and it is such a great lace for the kids. I wish I were here romantically since I think that would be mind blowing, but that is not on the agenda. Which is a shame since howling at the moon on the deck would be really fun...but this time is about the kids. I am watching a storm roll down across the ridge now so I doubt we will be hiking today. At least I am able to catch up here a little and let my thoughts wander to growling and whimpering spots.

I admire your ability to get along with your ex and put the kids first. I tried that with my ex husband but he wanted none of that. It takes an open mind to set aside grievances and work through issues. I am really impressed!

Nice EG! I love the outdoors. Love to just strap on a backpack and hit the trail and see where it leads me.

If you had done that and he hadn't of died, you'd still be waiting...20 books later. Have you read any of the Conan books he wrote? Very awesome!

Yeah, I stopped reading Jordan after I finished book 8. It was all that was published at the time and the wait between books was agonizing. I figured I'd wait for them all to be published then start again. It is an amazing story tho!
