Well to me hon..your still younger...right now I have 3 men in your age group..all 56...and I love them to death!!! your sure not too old!!!!!

See with me it's different..I get all these emails and pm's from younger men....but to me 50's is good for me!! the others are really a little young for good relationship....just my humble opinion

I don't think it's so much as the age thing for me as it is clicking with someone's personality and lifestyle.

I have a very occasional relationship with a man who's 49. I recently broke it off with another someone who just turned 40. Before that, the men I saw were younger than me, in their mid to late 20's.

And I am 32, so go figure?

My problem of late has been being persued by married men who aren't in an open relationship. I am trying to stay away from that, because they tend to degenerate into only the physical. I want both physical and emotional.

But hey, I'm picky, so...lol.

Just be yourself and stay young at heart. Like they say age is only a number.

I don't think it's so much as the age thing for me as it is clicking with someone's personality and lifestyle.

I also tend to attract people with lots of emotional problems, people who think that I will help them, somehow. My mother calls it the "lost puppy syndrome."

...Rosie don't take shit from no-one anymore! lol (I have plenty of friends with emotional problems... but I draw the line at friendship with them... I don't need all of those complications in my life!)

I am trying to understand what women find older men attractive...
when they decide that........how to approach them etc.

I have never had to think through this before.....

Mom you are far different than the women my age and yours that I am encountering....both physically and attitute wise

Richard, when you take away actual compatiblity from the equation, it seems to me that women who like older men are either attracted by their charisma/experience... or they have had a serious lack of a "father-figure" in their life.

(I'm actually being serious here!! lol)

I had a friend in high school who was *always* running after these men in their 30's and 40's... she loved gray hair, bald heads, suits, even wrinkles... anything that had to do with age...

...her father left their family when she was very, very young.

(Damn...is it *quite* obvious now that I'm a psychology major??)

When I say compatibility, I mean... they have things in common, they share the same interests. Their attraction lies in the fact that they *go well* together in every sense...

Being attracted to charisma/experience is not bad at all! I am very attracted to those things, I just seem to prefer them in a youthful package. (The real reason behind this is I'm not looking for flings...I'm looking for someone who can keep up with me inside and outside of the bedroom. And if I'm looking for a relationship, I want it to be with someone who will always be around with me...)

I don't believe there is a "proper" age difference that fits everyone. And it changes depending on the age of the people in question. If you're 19 you shouldn't be scoutin' for 13 year olds... but if you're 29, a 23 year old is probably not a bad match!
