My stories keep getting rejected by the monitor

Well, good news for the people talking about THAT story. That link got me nowhere so I assume it is gone. I was actually curious just what the hell was in there considering I've got some weird kinks but hearing more it's just... yeah, nah.

On the original subject, I really can't say what it was with the rejection if there is just... no reason. I never had any work rejected. I didn't even know you could be rejected on grammar and spelling. Hope it's not too bad if I have some original words in there. But I dare say that if someone does not want to say, it's probably something bad they don't want to admit.

Every single story that I write is all original and very well written. My Grammer is good, my punctuations are on point and my spelling is also checked. I wouldn't mind if they gave me a reason for it being flagged but I get no reason. Could someone please help me figure out why or somewhere else I could publish my work. Thank you.

This 100% reads like someone using AI to write.

"Do you know why I pulled you over?"
"I don't know. I'm a perfect driver and also I didn't hit a 2007 Honda Civic and leave the scene."

Extreme wrestling with torture.

Agh, that old chestnut. Hum! I won't say more. I had one new writer run a story by me that wouldn't every fly here, and I told him it wouldn't. I don't know if he slipped it by or not. Oh, crap, I said more.
Extreme wrestling with torture.

There is one published today in Fetish that NEVER should have been approved on Lit. I am debating whether to report it, as it is sick. A first time writer, and the violence was obscene and very graphic. The title was Extreme Women's Wrestling League #01.
I like the title. Although I'm picturing like some oil wrestling with scissoring and 69s. It sounds like the author went another way with it.

Let's make a new game show, the rape show, where women run from rape gangs. Let's make an inner city setting and turn women in fancy dress nightgowns loose in the worst possible areas. All they have for defense is their wits and the contents of the clutches, which consist of breath mints and a parking ticket. Let's set lose four gangs: one Asian gang, one black gang, a gang of Hispanics, and one of destitute white boys. We will have them in four distinct areas of the simulated ghetto and armed with knives, pistoles, and a machete or two. Let's call it The Rapping Game. "Dian Debutant, Susie Homemaker, and Samantha Soccermom come on down, you're the next contestants on the all-new Dating, I mean Raping Game. A Chuck Barrass Production."

I've thought of writing a story with Chuck Barrass Production as a company in it. Cuck Barrass danced with the devil under the pale moonlight. It doesn't mean anything, I just like the sound of it.

The tagline was something about "fun, over the top and exaggerated". It wasn't.

I'll grant "over the top".

Details for those who want them, behind a spoiler for those who don't:

Description of a "wrestling" match between two women where the winner gets to choose how the loser will be tortured as punishment. One contestant repeatedly slams the other into the ground head-first until her spine is almost broken, beats her at length with a kendo stick (hardwood practice sword), then breaks the stick and anally rapes her with the sharp end. After that she puts a funnelweb spider on the loser, knowing she has a phobia of spiders. The spider bites her repeatedly and then she's given antivenom so she can be hauled off and punished by being locked in a crate with more funnelwebs for 24 hours.

It must have been something in how the original was worded that allowed it to escape the keyword filter. Definitely a hard squick for most of us.

I'm not sure there was anything that would've tripped a keyword filter, but my understanding was that Laurel skim-reads all submissions, and even a cursory skim should've caught enough to trigger a closer look. It was barely over a page and the violence was most of it.

I'm wondering again if Lit has been so flooded with AI submissions that the moderation process is overloaded. Not that it was ever perfect, but between this and the AI rejections stuff, it seems more than usually flaky at the moment.

(Pretty sure this particular one wasn't AI though.)

Occums is on your side but there's a sliver of me that wonders if the "Virtual experience" mention up front paired with quick scan helped the tres awful pass by undetected or unflagged for gratuitous violence.

That last line caused real dread about possibilities in a "VR" follow up.

Please do not post more than three paragraphs of a story to the forum. This passage also contained an underage reference that would not pass for publishing. - AH Mod
