NaNoWriMo

Diry, dirty porn for me I think. In fact, I'm pretty much certain now of which story i'm going to actually write :)

I so wish I had the time to 'compete'. I have an idea for a novel based upon an unlikely piece of stained glass in Brittany entitled 'Mirror of Justice'.

You'll do great Red, just remember, it's only a little more than a thousand words a day. You can do that standing on your head.

Am I the only one getting actually nervous?
I need to do some more research, I need to do some writing exercises to get the feel for my characters.

I have no idea what I'm writing yet either. I had originally thought to continue a story I'd already started, but I don't think I'm going to do that now. I have about 2 word pages full of ideas that I copied down from the Adopt-a-Plot thread, so I will probably end up using one of those.

Those are great links, Crim. I especially thought the adopt-a-character one was interesting.

Glad they were of use to someone. :)

No fear.

So what are you so nervous about?

Well I just keep researching and am still so unsure about a lot of things and I don't know if my characters are responsible enough to sort out their problems themselves.

Ok, now I'm confuzzled.

What exactly are you researching on your characters? And if your characters aren't responsible enough to sort out their problems, then make them responsible.

Nothing - Researching things for my story. Silly.

Oh well that explains absolutely...nothing. I think.

Don't get all nervous over the story. It's not the end of the world. Being worried about it only makes it more difficult to write.

Thanks FTF!

Hey, what type of novel is everybody writing? It might be chicklit but I'm trying for Literary Fiction ala Amy Tan.

I'm writing a non-erotic Western that is meant to be a companion story to my Montana Summer series...

I've decided to join the insanity for the first time. I'll write what comes easiest - romantic erotica.

Two weeks! :nana:

Two tests, an essay. NaNo, and two new courses starting in November.

I'm gonna have a busy month.

I think I've settled on what plot I'm using. I actually had the first part of it running through my head last night. I might actually have to do part of an outline just so I don't forget it.

Outlines are great. They help you move on to the next scene if you get stuck with an uncooperative chapter. If you have an outline, just move to the next chapter and come back to the naughty one when you're more up for it.
Without an outline, it's easy to stop altogether once you get stuck in one place, because you don't know what to write next.

Problem is... I haven't really done an outline since high school, lol. I usually write without them.

i'm actually going to do a series of 30 shorts in 30 days. the catch is that each story will tie into the next through a small thread. but it's pretty friggin neat how they're all connected!

I'm asking this a little early but I need to know this:

If an 18 year old drops out of high school (senior year, obviously), would the truancy officer try to do anything about it?

I always try to write them as if I'm telling my best friend about a movie I've seen in the cinema - scene by scene.
