New Tattoo!

I like the ink - mostly because you mention how it means something to you. Recently got my first - a half sleeve I absolutely love because the artist was incredible and it really has personal meaning.

Definitely worth all 8 hours.

Please tell me it was not eight hours in ONE day!!

I really love the tattoo! Reading always sets me free!

I am the same way - reading is my passion. It's my escape from reality when reality is dull or when reality is just too much!

And thank you both the compliments!

Not to be a buzz killer or a snob or any of those things you are going to think about me cause I dare to say this.....

I am 61 years old and I remember when the time was if you had a pierced ear or a tattoo you were a real rebel...dangerous sort of a bloke.. now a days if you don't have a piercing or a tattoo you are a real rebel...maybe a dangerous bloke but you are definitely not going with the crowd which fits me to a tee I never wanted to be like everyone else.

That being said I love to look at the tats out there and think some of them are truly spectacular, just never thought there would be something that I wanted today that I would still want to have in 30, 40, 50 years on a piece of sagging wrinkled skin faded from the sun....oh well, have a great holiday and don't forget to write.....:D

Well, I didn't get it to be like everyone else (or not be like everyone else). I'm kind of past that whole phase in my life since I'm not exactly a "spring chicken" myself. It's my body and reading and the written word is a great passion of mine so this was how I decided to express that.

I get it's not everyone's forte, but then again I'm not having relations with everyone nor is it on a spot the general public can see. So thanks for your opinion; like other body parts every one has one - thanks for stopping in.

I got mine at 53, on back side of left shoulder. It is partially visible in summer wear and I've received nothing but compliments on it. As a memorial to Babygirl, it makes me smile when someone comments on it. I have a couple more simmering in the back of my mind but both will be easily covered because society still has issues with them.

I love the tattoo, it's different and looks good.
:D

Thank you. I'm rather fond of it myself. :rose:

Sunbunny - I think for most of us our tattoos are some sort of personal reflection of ourselves or a way to honor a part of lives. Yeah, some people get a tattoo just to get one and those are the ones who usually regret it. I bet your tattoo is beautiful. And I'd love to see it sometimes. :rose:

I'm also going to say no on the thigh high tattoo ;)

*pops in* I heard slinger was getting bows tattooed on his balls, so I had to come check it out.

Ha!!!! Love it.

My very first av on Lit was of the rose tattoo on my left breast. You really couldn't tell it was one of those fake ones you can get at the beauty supply store. I really loved the way it looked, but again, if I'd gotten the real thing, it would've been a very looooonnnggg stemmed rose eventually!

Girl, THAT is exactly what I always say!!!! Are you sure we aren't long-lost sisters????? Meant to be best friends? Soul mates with you trapped in the wrong body? ;) (Kidding on that last one).

Lol, when I wrote that, it sounded familiar - maybe you're the one who said it to me! Its okay, we can still be besties!

I'm glad I read that before I posted it - autocorrect had changed "besties" to "Beatles"!

Lol...

My balls are beeeyoootiful... I shan't be marking them up like that!!
