Excuse me Ari, I'll have to get you that drink...later.
Chele, are you implying that being swept away in the arms of a cutthroat to be tethered to a mast as the deck pitches beneathe your feet and waves splash your skin with seaspray, never knowing your fate; intrigues you?
Wouldn't it intrigue any woman? But then, maybe I'm not any woman...
Yes, the thought of being tied to the mast, gown plastered against the curves of my body, not knowing what fate has in store - makes for a good fantasy, no? Providing I'm not tied to the mast to be left completely alone. Now, that would be no fun. Need a playmate to truly bring out the fun ~
I am sure that the sight of you lashed to the mast would deffinately intrigue me. You shouldn't worry about being left alone in that situation. No real man could possibly leave you alone like that, and since this is the place for fantasy....
Where does a person go, and what do they have to do, to bring a story to this place?
Blurting out the first few lines seem to be the kiss of death, leaving the fate of a plot (that has had some time and thought put into it) to erratic posting, or writers whom have a different perception of the storyline.....
Don't take this query as an insult, I am honestly interested in writing with good writers, and sharing good repor with them...
Would appreciate any answers or help I can get.....
For what they're worth. Anyway, you've asked a very good question. Getting a good story started is difficult even for a vetern. People drop out or write in a direction you never planned, even when they are your good friends. But for getting a thread started, the best way I've found is to write a little synopsis of your idea including the possible parts available and post the information as an OOC thread. That's out of character, by the way. This way you can get all the parts filled and begin a dialogue before you actually start the thread. Hope this helps and good luck. Feel free to message me if I can help in any other way.
Swashbuckler: you are teasing me again! And after I had been lashed to the mast, and your battle complete, what would my end be? Pleasure to the highest degree? Or torture that leaves me wanting more?
Unregistered: It is very difficult to get a story started here without at least revealing some part of the plot or storyline. I've seen many really good opening storylines posted (maybe not ones I was really good at) that fell by the wayside. And then I've seen others that I didn't think were all that good become extremely popular. The major factors depends on whose visiting the board on any given time - and if the story sparks their interest.
As far as controlling the story, well that is difficult to do. You are playing real-life, flesh and blood people, and sometimes they just don't think the way you want them to. There are people that I post with on a regular basis, people I think I know exactly what they will do under certain situations, only to have them throw me a HUGE curve. (Yes, Ariosto, this applies to you, sweetheart!) At first you are left with - "now how do I handle THAT" - but it hopefully will turn to - "cool, now I can do THIS". This board is all about creativity, and the ability to play off of other's creativity. I really think it sharpens your skill as a writer and a storyteller.
If you have an idea that you really want to try, but are not sure if it will take off, then may I make a suggestion? Why not read through some of the writers here, see whose style of writing/thinking you like. Then PM that person with your idea and see if they might be interested in working with you. Don't be surprised, however, if they might be busy and overloaded - happens frequently. Also, it would help a good deal if you got rid of the "Unregistered" - it leaves a lot of people thinking you might not be willing to stick around and really participate on a thread. Plus, "Unregistered" means that there is no way a player can contact you - no PM, no email. A player is at the mercy of YOU contacting THEM. Just a suggestion, though there are several "Unregistered" people playing.
Unregistered:
I am fairly new to this thing too, but so far it is really cool. My suggestion is to just jump in and try it. One of the things that I find interesting is to watch the unknown element of other writers develop the story in this fairly freeform style. Have fun.
SexyChele:
I would hate to be accused of teasing you, further... Perhaps we should see what could become your fate in another thread.
I have been reading the boards and it is a bit overwhelming. I do not know where to begin but I thought this would be as good a place as any. I enjoy reading and writing any good literature whether it be erotic or other. I am a private person so I won't go into detail about my personal life. I am in my 30's and female. I hope someone can guide me in joining a story!
I am anxious to get started if only I knew where to begin!
Greetings Nightwhispers!
Why don't you come to the Café Americain and meet this community of outrageous people. Thread are starting every day here, find one you like and pitch in.
Welcome NightWispers! I know it all seems overwhelming - it did when I first found this place as well! The best way to start is to look for threads just starting, read through the opening, and just join in. I would really recommend talking to your fellow players at first - email or PM. I've found more experienced players or just those that you are playing with can provide valuable insight into plot development as well as your own character development.
Hello all! I'm also new here (and clueless as per usual) I've written some stories on my own, but haven't had the balls to publish them or anything, so I'm baby-stepping into the interactive stuff. (be gentle...or not, for that matter I'm easy to amuse.)
If I screw up please forgive, I'm just muddling thourgh as always.
Welcome Vespiris! Don't worry, we've all just "muddled" in the beginning. Some of us are still muddling! You should go ahead and publish whatever stories you have. I know I was using this board to help me write better, but when I published, it was a whole different game entirely! Just take the plunge! You never know!
Ok, stepping back in just for a sec. I see alot of "newbies" here wondering where they could start in an RP adventure. Well, allow me to make a suggestion: "Three Nights of the Moon". Captainb is getting this thread off the ground and we still have need of 2 more parts. If you are wondering what it is about, just read the OOC thread or contact Captainb. (I suppose you could also contact me, seeing as how I'm the one making the plug)
If you like "Young Dr. Frankenstein" or any of the campy horror flicks of the 30s and 40s, then this is your place! Also, if you are new and want to get your feet wet, give it a shot! The thread is filled with experienced players who would be more than willing to work with you and help you get started.
Vilkommen Zcorpiox! Register and join the fun, you don't have to be let known any info you don't want to and it's loads of fun. Come on in! The waters fine!
lol, we like you better as Jehanox anyway, and besides if you changed your name I'd have to write a new limerick for you and then that would just cause untold damage to those who thought they'd seen the end of those
I've been here for nearly a month now! I'm 20, newly out of a dreadfully way-too-serious relationship .. and stumbled onto Literotica!! The board blew my mind at first, and then I got into a Role play called 'Sexual Haven' and of course with the help of my first playmates here, got thrown into the mix. I'm still learning, and having an absolute blast! A vast majority of those I've met have been such interesting, nice people .. well, and quite a few wonderful writers
