This thread, more than many others, illustrates that democracy is extremely uncomfortable for control freaks in both of America's major political parties.

From the MAGAts hysteria about Islamic socialism taking over America to BSG and Laz concluding that this is an unmitigated disaster for Israel and the Democratic Party, control freaks have a very difficult time accepting results of the messy Democratic process, with its swings that include the whole range between the extremes of unregulated capitalism and over-regulated socialism, all mixed in with religion and tribalism. The Lit control freaks described above have a very difficult time with letting the voters speak and allowing the swings to take place.

They describe this NYC election as Amageddon. Control freaks use fear as their main motivator and political tool, as they try to convince the world that only THEY know all the answers.

The main thing this NYC election proved is that there are a lot of working class people who are struggling with affordability issues, the same thing that was proved in Tuesday's elections all around the country. Underneath all the social issues, it's the economy, Stupid.

America will continue to try to find its balance. Mamdani is not the savior. The fascist Pig in DC is not the savior. Democracy is messy.

Control freaks are the problem, not the solution. Let democracy proceed. Do everything possible to keep the elections free and open. Then accept the results, and prepare for the next election.
