What a night!
Oh- what a night...
So I work at a company as a "Development lead"... what this means is I am responsible for making sure requested changes are made- and smoothly moved into the production enviornment...
Well, tonight was a big release night- and boy did things go wrong. I guess it wasn't all bad- because when we moved it in the test enviornment it took us 2 1/2 weeks to fix the problems- and it only took us 2 hours in production...
The confrence call had 7 people on it- from the developer to the VP for release management. In the end, we did get it working...
But that's not all folx!
While I was on the confrence call- my power went out!!! I needed to be dialed in as well as connected to the network- not something that works well when your cable goes out and you use Vonage... No network- no phone...
So I call on my "land line" into the confrence and use my cellphone as a modem ...
Then the power comes back- and I try to make a call with my vonage line- and get this- I am STILL on the confrence call as well as talking with the person I was calling- Vonage has no idea how ti fix it- so they are sending me a new device... though, being a tech guy, I am sure it's a server side problem and this won't fix it... So I Have to wait for the new device to come- and not work- before they can look into it further.
